I raced in the 40+ field and we only had 50 riders. That circuit course would have been crazy with a field of 127. Nice to hear they’re probably changing it. It’s not a horrible course, but as you mentioned that fast downhill into a 90 degree turn and short straight into the finish isn’t ideal. Also not a huge fan of mostly single lane course fully lined by cones/signs. The old circuit course that was near the community college was awesome. Wonder why they had to change it.
That’s funny! Last year I did TBC, and had same outcome. I’m a 4/5 trying to go for 3…..but am big and weak 😅….ended up pulling out of the circuit race about halfway through. Too big and too tired. Can’t win them all! Also road race day….shoulda gone down the hill (where everyone parks) and pee in the bushes
Super awesome coverage of this event. Definitely add in cost and food ratings. I'm also a big fan of perusing the Expos at races I attend. A mixing up the early season next year might be in order and this looks like a great way to eliminate some dreary winter days from the calendar. Hopefully I can make it through three days of racing after driving there from East Bum F*ck!
Keep your head up EJ. Don’t let this learning experience discourage you too much. See that it motivates you to learn and train. Study up about nutrition and how to fuel on stage and multi day races. All I can say is besides blowing your wad on day two you probably didn’t eat enough. It’s hard. You have to train your gut to eat a lot. Stay a way from the crap carnival foods. With your calorie and nutritional requirement theirs not much room for junk food. Then there’s sleep. Eating late messes with your sleep so you have to figure out how late you can eat without it jacking up your sleep. Keep up your great content I love watching your journey.
I agree, good racing, and speeds I can't do. But let's not get carried away with the rounding up, I'm guessing the difference between 28.9mph and 30mph is the difference between taking 20th and winning the race....
@@Ejstrainingcamp you got amazing results in short time. its mindblowing honestly to say. I bought smart trainer roughly month ago and started seriously training. i am intrested what results i'll get withing a year, but i'm 38 years old
Impressive I guess. But really impressive enough for you to film yourself and post? No not at all. Didn’t Michael Hutchinson do 100 mile time trial in 3:31? And he was for second! The guy who won it did 3:29. Basically 30mph. That what they do every year for the British 100 mile National TT.
TBC is no joke. Awesome it got your highest rating to date!

Lots to learn in bike racing. Direct experience counts for so much 👍

Tour de Tucson is also a fast one for the 100 mile course. They usually average 28mph.

I'm glad you got up to the front in the beginning. This is a tough course to move up in. Great job. 30mph very impressive.
Yeah man, be proud. Keep it up, better days ahead if you want it enough.
Hey! Its me again, i competed in mens cat 4 and got DEMOLISHED. great job dude

We need EJ on a full out aero sprinter bike. Like a Madone,S5,Aeroad,Foil ect. Just saying lol
Start a go fund for new bike hahaha

Smart move on the crit race, recipe for crashing trying to race exhausted. Live to fight another day, better than copping a broken collarbone
Great job. Make sure you get some solid rest and recovery. Pushing when your toast is the biggest mistake new cyclists make.
how years old you are?
25

gila next
Do not beat yourself up about dropping out! You'll do more damage if you push yourself too far. Til next time.
Yes, 20th is in the top 20, if you say 1 through 20 inclusive.
How fast is 30 mph?
48 kph

That’s crrrraaaaazzzzyyyy
First!
You're so speedy!!!!
@@Ejstrainingcamp finally beat Mitch
Someone had to do it!
What a dumb course, why have a bike race when there is no room to race,
