    I´ve made it! last year I upgraded the CPU and GPU and after a very long night, Wifi and Bluetooth are working thanks to you!!! Great work!!! the iMac is working again. Windows works, high Sierra too but Sonoma don't want to find the wifi but I think I will solve it somehow upgrading open core or something like that. Thanks again from Argentina! very helpful content. Great work

      @javitobosch  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey WLKGOD! Sorry, I have been abroad and this week has been intense at work. The iMac I have is a mid2011. The most complete model of this segment already included the i72600, so I did not have to buy any CPU or modify the socket. About that, be careful, because sockets are specifically made for a certain type of CPU. If the CPU from other models/years fit, it does not mean that it will work. I think "everymac" is a rather detailed webpage where you can find further information about your model. Success!

      Hey froi rivera! I think you erased the stored settings from the GPU firmware patch. I don't know if you actually have OpenCore installed in your computer, but usually after installation you run "Post-install root patch" and that solved the issue for me last time I could not adjust the brightness anymore. The computer was also very slow. Let me know if this helped!

      Brightness Control Stepping Mod:
      -Turn computer on, hold down Command(⌘)-R
      -Choose Utilities > Terminal

      -Download and open 'Kext Utility v2.6.6'
      -Navigate to S/L/E (System/Library/Extensions)
      -Copy "AppleBacklight.kext" to Desktop
      -Edit: AppleBacklight.kext/Contents/Info.plist
      -Scroll down to: IOKitPersonalities > AppleIntelPanelA > ApplePanels
      -There you find several Apple LCD profiles.
      -For the iMac 2011 27" machine locate:
      Code:
      F10Ta007
      ABEABgALABQAHAAnADMAPwBOAFwAZwBzAIEAkQClAL8A2wD/
      -Change the section to:

      -Drag your modded kext into Kext Utility, allow it correct permissions

Technically yes, but if you type in google the CPU model you have (mine is i72600) you will see that the "Maximum Memory Size" for this very CPU is 32GB (4x8GB DDR3). Now, Apple do not recommend that but it is possible. Try to use the DDR3 RAM, not the DDR3L (low voltage) if you fancy a try.
