I've been a metal guy who used pics my whole life and now am getting into classical. Right now I use my fretting thumb for e string mutes and I twist my plucking hand so the back of my thumb mutes the a string, pics and distortion are like the exact opposite of fingered classical. So hard to break the habits, thank you for the tutorial!
Super again. I’m playing study in Amin with lots of tonic/dominant arpeggios and it’s been really irritating me having the bass notes ring on, now I have the solution 👍👍
If I'm playing a bass line I pretty much always do it. A lot of the time with fretted notes you won't need to as they cancel each other out naturally. Just be aware of it. Incidentally. . This started with Baroque lute playing back in the early 1700s!
