Thank you for staying true to who you are Mr Maxwell and sharing your story. There is alot of us out here just surviving day to day working low paying jobs where we overworked and underappreciated. This interview really made my night working the liquor store much more entertaining and gave more perspective on my own life
I've seen a lot of Vernon Maxwell interviews but Theo/Run Your Race asked Mad Max some different questions, for those that don't know Mad Max used to run up the chimney looking for the smoke 💨 him and John Starks were the only 2 Guards I saw go at it with MJ!
Great episode. I grew up watching Mad Max on NBC . Houston games were rare Toronto mostly showed Celtics & Lakers games . Sometimes we could watch Pistons games as well . I remember first time seeing that Houston team Max always stood out . Big fan from Toronto 🇨🇦 .
10:30 Talking about father figures. The CLASSIC movie Boyz N The Hood. The relationship between Tre and his parents is a key lesson. Even though they were separated the mother ( Angela Bassett )knows once her boy reached 11 yrs old beginning puberty there was nothing she could teach him about being a man, and Furious Styles accepting the responsibilities of raising and teaching his son by his words and his actions is one of the most underrated parts of the movie. We need more Furious Styles as well as mothers like the role Angela Bassett played ( can't remember the characters name).
AGREED and well said, most people miss that important detail from that film, but, concentrate on the violent situations instead. The only stupid scene in the movie is when ole dude gets shot by those gangbangers and his friends take him home instead of to the hospitol. WTF. LOL. With friends like this, who needs enemies.
No way, i saw the 90s and vernon maxwell always beat micheal jordan. Idk what the deal is, maybe he gets a paycheck eveytime he praises jordan, but for those who saw the full games from 1990-91 season to 1992-93 season, the bulls can never win against the rockets. Jordan is the beyonce of the NBA fr
@MrRiq29 i don't know what's Jordan's career record against the rockets, but jordan never beats vernon maxwell on a houston rockets jersey. FR Jordan IS the BEYONCE of basketball. Fr fr
I believe his point was he played pretty much every game he could minus suspensions and he was traded mid season so typically you will miss a couple of games until you clear the physical for the new team so that accounts for 79 games in like 2 of the seasons. Not to mention there was 3 NBA lockout seasons in the 90s which shortened the schedule... So naw he wasn't cappn the way you thought.
Like for everytime Vern curse 😂😭
he cussed his first sentence in 🤣
Lmao I saw this on my feed and I kept swearing to myself 😂😂 like I’m getting ready for it
That’s gone be a lotta mafuckin likes on one mothafuckin post 😂😂😂
Man, these guys ask all the questions we want to hear. Not that generic crap we hear on the other shows.
Mad max is by far the best nba storyteller along with John salley. Could listen to this muthafucka all day 😂
Agreed. He reminds me of one of my uncles.
Ron arrest is a good honorary mention
I love this guys interviews, seems like the type of guys you could just sit down and have hours of normal everyday conversation!

In the 80s, MFer was the popular word before the N word took over in the 90s/2000s 😆
Classic Max, great interview
43:40 - Michael Cooper has got to have Mad Max on his podcast! Love it lol

Mad max
What’s the Kobe time stamp
4:14 “Tropical weather mf!” Vernon funny af dawg 😭
Max a classic dawg 😂😂😂😂
Vernon Maxwell vs Charles Oakley who y’all got
Love it
They should ask Robert Horey and Sam Cosell to visit
Look like they in NODA 704
Another great Kobe story. If Vern gave props to a 17 year old, we know it's the greatest compliment.
Too funny
48:59 that mf was spinning offa everybody 🤣🤣🤣
somebody please make a vernon maxwell biopic 😂
Where da hell JB & Kennedy at
Man Max might be too real 😂
I'm dying at "Season Hoes" lmao

Jordan is 12 and 14 against the rockets what u mean he could never beat them
@MrRiq29 i don't know what's Jordan's career record against the rockets, but jordan never beats vernon maxwell on a houston rockets jersey. FR
Jordan IS the BEYONCE of basketball. Fr fr
@layuponthedownlow you can't be serious 😒 1992 bulls vs Houston 100 to 114 maxwell 23 min 17 points jordan 41 min 35 points bull win
@MrRiq29 BS, jordan can never win against vernon maxwell bcoz he is scared of mad max. Fr fr
@layuponthedownlow but vernon doing interviews talking about how good jordan is 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣ok buddy u win
strange how max talks about the finals in 1995 as if he was playing .....
Vernon 🧢 on the 9 years straight .. just checked the stats .. played 82 game once that's not a 🧢 its a double 🧢
I believe his point was he played pretty much every game he could minus suspensions and he was traded mid season so typically you will miss a couple of games until you clear the physical for the new team so that accounts for 79 games in like 2 of the seasons. They probably would’ve won with max
Vernon is lying. Houston suspended him after game 1 against Utah in the first round. He never played in the 1995 finals.
Yea...love the pod in general and this is a great interview but not knowing he didn't play in the 95 Playoffs was a big oversight.
