My god, you're hitting all the right spots with these videos. Thanks, nerd! Btw, I also had the problem of a "overstuffed" root partition. If you boot from an arch live iso and mount the drive, you should be able to resize it. I had to decrypt the drive and resize my lvm partitions, but all went well in the end.
resizing partitions on ext4 is super easy, and built in functionality of gnu parted. just make sure to do it from live media instead of the booted system.
The Forge extension for GNOME is pretty good for tiling. But sometimes GNOME updates break it for a day or two (I'm hoping that switching to the AUR version will help), and it has the occasional window placement bug. I'm on Wayland and not ready to leave, so I'm eyeing Sway or Hyprland.
Exactly what i needed. I have modified my garuda linux config files so much i am afraid to lose them. I keep on procrastinating on properly figuring out stow or something similar.
Have you looked at the pros and cons of using nix and home-manager and/or nixvim instead of gnu stow? It looks like a large amount of setup work but once done it would be a cross distribution way of source controlling not only all your configs but also all your installed packages.
Stow has so many big problems as a project, is never maintained and there are issues that has even years without solutions, this is a know issue, don't get me wrong I love your content and the tools you show always, I just wanna let this message here in case anyone looking into stow for the first time don't get frustrated, in my particular case I moved to chezmoi months ago and it completely worth it.
By far the best Linux TH-cam channel. Excellent content and well explained. Congratulations!👍🏼
Would love to see the next version of this being a use of stow and ansible to standup your environments quickly, easily, predictably.
that sounds really good to me
absolutely! i want to wrap my head around ansible and this is a pretty good use case

That works! I fixed it by creating a live iso of gparted and doing that
@@typecraft_dev Cool, didn't know about the gparted live iso, that would have spared me some headaches.
U can use gparted iso to shrink space from a large partion and extend the root. I did it 7-8 times without any issues.
Good ole Ga-know Stew! Been using Stow as well. Love your vids; keep it up, nerd!
