Very relatable. If only language learning was linear. Great work

Learning Japanese creates a level of self doubt that is unholy truly. 7 months in and every moment feels like I should quit and I’ll never be able to speak Japanese.. but we must keep pushing and stay persistent

Yes we must keep pushing, because we have dreams or goals we want to achieve! Thank you for your comment(: It made me think about something and I will post a video about it soon!

Same. I started relearning japanese a little over a year now. Every month I have that same doubt. But I tell myself not to be so hard on myself, eventually the mistakes that I make now will come second nature if I just keep going. Simple grammer and kanji that I struggled with a year ago is now easier.

Same here with Chinese.... But remember we are not alone, as we can see everyone has doubts or struggles, but in the end many foreigners master this asian languages, just keep being consistent.

Hey just want to let you know I was feeling the same way a few months in (and still to some lesser extent). Keep pushing on little by little. Find ways to enjoy content in Japanese. Then when u start understanding little bits of anime or manga it’s incredibly rewarding.

In this day and age I think the easiest way to learn Japanese is software SRS and online immersion. That is to say, using Anki and learning kanji through tools like WaniKani. I have been studying for only 3 weeks so far but I already know a couple of hundred kanji + kana and can understand like 10-15% of the anime I am watching which is quite cool. I began with the Kaishi 1.5k deck + jlabs beginner course with WaniKani at the same time while getting grammar for Cure Dolly. In the end, like you said in the video, it boils down to consistency, but I think that having the right tool set and ease of use is also important. If you dont, you will have days when your study is gonna be inefficient and the vocab you learn forgotten due to lack of SRS.

Thank you for your comment Kurokishi! I think many people can benefit from your expertise😁
You also seem to have a really good study plan! Is there something else you want to know about language learning or japanese in general?

Thanks for the heads up on the Kaishi deck! I too have only been studying for a few weeks but that deck is the best one I've found so far. Yes CureDolly is a great resource I really like how she explains the grammar. I'm 2 lessons into Genki but finding the vocab hard to stick. Shamefully doing a bit of duolingo because the gamification is catchy.

@@James-mv9qxTake advantage of ankis spaced repetition. It will help you to remember vocabulary more easily!
      Good luck James!

People take a language course in the language they know for an easy credit. Dont be too hard on yourself... theyre just cheating the system for better marks
