So a Coxswain to some degree can be compared to the Pilot of an aircraft or a Captain of a small boat. Can I make that conclusion or is that reading too much into it. I am a CAP guy interested in the program in case anyones wondering.
+bailong329 That's a pretty accurate comment. Crew is the baseline qualification for surface operations in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. The coxswain has a higher level of responsibility, both with his/her knowledge of nautical effects/conditions/piloting, as well as supervisory responsibility of the crew. Some units (flotillas) work with local CAP units.
Bill, I believe your uniformed about the Coast Guard Auxiliary, I'm a volunteer in this organization and I don't have Gray hair. Those kind of ignorant remarks just show how low people can go. Yes, a handful of auxiliarist are retired, patriotic Americans who want to find a way to serve their fellow citizen. But not all of us. Plus regardless of age, we can all find a way to assist the Coast Guard in promoting boating safety. I know a handful of auxiliarist who are decorated American veterans who flew, sailed and marched into war zones to fight for our freedom and still feel the need to continue serving their country. I'm not going to delete this, I want it to stay up so people can see this. You should be ashamed of yourself.
@@jonsthedrummer02 , As a fellow Auxiliary member and Assistant Division Staff Officer for Navigation Systems for the Tampa Bay area, I would like to thank you for your hard work and dedication to one of the finest organizations in the world! It is unfortunate that there are those who do not take the time to get to know us and what we represent. Their loss, our gain, as there is only so much room on our facilities. 🇺🇲 Semper Paratus 🇺🇲
