The normal protocol is to round the cc's up, but that was not the case on the W650. Whatever, a better question might be what real relevance has the name "Bonneville" to the machine built at Hinckley? The bikes might be good in their own right but to call them the "real thing" (as many do) in contrast to the Kawasaki W's, is somewhat meaningless, Since amongst my bikes is a W650 owned from new which has run faultlessly for over 10 years (run all year round) I have to say it's excellent.
Tonight, I sat on this bike, and started it up. It was brand new and I didn't have the temerity to ask the owner for a ride, but damn I was hoping she would offer. It is .....awesome....(big , big, sigh ). It is so well designed and comfortable. This ad.....doesnt oversell it at all.
@BigRedGuitar I couldn't agree more! I say we lobby Kawasaki to bring this bike here! All I would ask is that the asking price be not much more than $7K; less if possible.
i bought a 2000 w650 new, the retro look was cool for a while, but got bored with it, felt too small after awhile, and lacked any real power to keep it interesting, should have bought the ZRX 1100, like I first wanted .
Fiesta (Spanish) means "party" so that name is meaningless in terms of the nature of the vehicle. “Bonneville” came from the achievements of Johnny Allen on the Bonneville Salt Flats on a 650 Triumph fuelled by methanol with a streamliner fairing. In 1956, 214.17 mph was attained. Triumph subsequently fitted Bonnevilles with "World's Fastest Motorcycle" stickers. The appropriateness of the Bonneville Salt Flats related name to the current Triumph product is therefore debatable .
Fiesta means "party" so that name implies nothing in terms of the nature of the car. “Bonneville”came from the achievements of Johnny Allen on the Bonneville Salt Flats on a 650 Triumph engine fuelled by methanol in a 'streamliner' fairing. The appropriateness of the Bonneville Salt Flats related name to the current Triumph is therefore questionable.
This is nonsense. Reviewers carry on about build quality - the headlight is plastic and mine melted! I bought the expecting quality and its had 3 warranty claims in 3 months and no end to problems in sight. The dealers are basically dishonest and its fight all the way to get things fixed. Tried complaining to Kawasaki and got nowhere. The W800 is just rubbish and the reviewers who rave about it's build quality just make fools of themselves and us. Buy the Bonneville at least you get the name.
Ok this is a joke, right? "Modern technology" doesnt mean rear DRUM BRAKES. Geez get the Triumph, or you can buy this thing have people say "Hey nice bike...why didnt you buy the Triumph?"
No sound, noooo sound at all! no Abs, no good Brake, weak Brakes, its a 650 with just less than 100 ccm more!!.... It sucks! And remember: No Sound, no Power, no Brakes, no Fork, which is worth! It sucks!
2023, this is still THE retro bike of all time. Yes, I own one.
This how a retro bike is supposed to look. The engine is beautiful. If this bike came to the US, I would most certainly buy one.
This bike needs to come to America!
great bike, can't wait to see it on europe's street!! that's how bikes should look like!

What? No more kickstarter? They just killed off the one and only genuine retro detail from the w650.
would like to see a tank rack on it,like triumph had during the 60,s.
damn they need to make more bikes like these nowadays. Though I'm not a fan or the vertical engines D:
@inmate1577 Pre 08' model Bonneville looks nice but the newer ones have that ridiculous bulbous fuel tank to accommodate the efi fuel pumps.

Hello Kawasaki. I would still rather have the W650 but wouldnt cry if you imported this to the U.S..
For Gods sake bring this bike to the United States! Heck bring the whole line up W250 W650 and the W800. We need retro bikes!
@MsBonny68 BUT its WAY more beautifull. So it's the power of beauty.
Apologies for repeated message. This was down to message failing to appear for an extended period fuelling the impression the system had failed.
; Yes, as like as all the best things ?
This is the bike I want and go figure, they don't sell it in the US. Harleys? Not for me.
