This is normal for the heats you need to be peaking on the weekend. I would pay to watch this live over the weekend, in UK we have to wait till new year, absolutely ridiculous.
My understanding is that some people think points from the heats will be used for seeding in the finals (that might be why Martins and Novikov did the hold). It'd be simpler if WSM was more transparent about their rules/format. Seems like they like the wiggle room to change everything last minute and then have 6 months to put together a TV show and make it look like it was always smooth.

Loved Tom's explanation of the qualifiers, totally got a solid game plan there and seems to have his head in a great place. Very happy for Gabriel Rhéaume going to the finals on his first appearance at WSM! Plus three canadians, two of which are French-Canadians in the final that is incredible! Still we don't talk much about this sport here even tho we've had JF Caron representing us for years...

I have few health problems an waiting on surgery and I get very tired so was hoping to wait till after surgery and hopefully a bit more normal, on the other hand the saying goes don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today. lol x

The Canadians are definitely doing JF Caron proud this year. Going to be at a couple in the top 5 I think.
Gabriel Rhéaume is the only French Canadian. Both Hooper and Boudreault are from Ontario
