Dreamcatcher (드림캐쳐) - 10th MINI ALBUM [VirtuouS] came out a few weeks ago and as soon as I had the chance I immediately listened to it. This time JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyun have definitely outdone themselves as VirtuouS is one of their best works ever.
Their tenth mini album represents a return to the roots of rock sound, but at the same time aims for innovation as Dreamcatcher JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyun experiment with a completely new way of singing new. It is enough just to mention the example of Dami who, as a talented rapper, has also proven to be an excellent singer in Fireflies. His lines hit me straight in the heart, a true masterpiece!

Hollywood should get their company to do music for movies or whatever, if they haven't yet, i really love the album's intro and this album is their best!

Disney already commented on Siyeon's cover of Speechless and they have done a couple OSTs for some Kdramas. They definitely could do a great job.

Virtuous is such a great album. They're always working and improving. Villains and Virtuous both have a bunch of experimental elements with the vocals and instrumentals. Personally, I think this duology was created as a way for DC to "rediscover" their sound after the departure of Leez from the production team right before Apocalypse:From Us. I think the inclusion of Tankzzo on the production team for this album (and the 2024 concert versions of Curse of the Spider and Lullaby) is one of the best decisions they've made creatively in a while and I hope they keep them around. They were responsible for the drumming in the album as well as production.
You should definitely check out the 2 Rings showcase as it has choreo. There's a 4K static version on DCs channel as well as a few other versions but that's the one I'd recommend.
I also recommend the It's Live performance for Justice. It's fantastic.
I always buy my albums from online retailers here in the US. Albums are usually 15-22 USD plus 8-10 bucks shipping. There were a few online retailers in Europe that were listed as sellers so you may be able to find them there. I definitely grabbed one of each. The old version would often sell for hundreds of dollars since they were rare so I'd resigned myself to never getting them. I hope they re-release the whole back catalog at some point.
I love both albums, but this one won me over straight away. I think one of my absolute favorites of their discography. How I would have loved an MV for Stomp! I have to check out the showcases. I didn't know about these backstories behind the creation of the album, they made the right choice considering the masterpiece they created. Here in Europe, specifically in Portugal and Italy because in Spain they cost much less, I usually pay almost 37 dollars for a kpop album. The Dreamcatcher ones were selling for almost 50 O_O
If you want to hear more of Dami singing then her cover songs on the official Dreamcatcher TH-cam channel with Yoohyeon or Siyeon or solo are some of her best vocals. And then there’s “ And There Was No One Left” .

I think of the intro as a way to appreciate their style of making music. It's kinda hard to find kpop songs that utilize real instruments these days because lots of them tend to focus on electronic/synth production. Also, if you like their ballad, they have more of those at the end of their albums and are often dedicated to the fans

Intro is long which is not for everyone, it's just not a music to listen to but a composition to enjoy, to feel as a mood, it describes the whole album greatly (calm-nostalgia-power-fight-chill). The VS series which takes place in another dimension. Versus Villains and VirtuouS are like special albums apart from the "normal" DC.
Just walk outside and chill, lay down somewhere and listen to it, you will feel peaceful. Or for short videos it's also a nice background music lol

hahaha, not the kind of censor I was expecting 😂I definitely loved the sound of the album, the intro is a bit long to me too but I'm not going to complain about it, I could see it fit into an instrumental playlist. Stomp has a great beat, not sure if better than Justice but it has a similar feeling to it for me. 2 Rings sounds a bit more "traditional" girl group kpop, I feel like it's the least alike what we associate the group to. And yes, Fireflies made me think of anime as well, it's the instruments and the slower pace. All in all, much love for this album! 💙
I couldn't help myself😂😂. This album is one of my favorites, really very beautiful! I agree with you about the intro. I was a little taken aback because I didn't expect it like this. 2 rings listening to it several times is not bad, but as you said it is the most "traditional" compared to the others included in the project
2 rings is better when you also see the choreo. Some dreamcatcher songs hit harder when you let the girls capture your attention also with their visuals 😅
