Ben - My summer program with cool season grasses includes intentional dormancy in the summer. You mentioned extra watering after leveling. Will the sand used to level greatly alter watering and feeding routines from a lawn that has only had topsoil used for levelling? Best wishes for a safe trip.

@@LawnTips My local Bunnings got a shipment in some 6 - 7 years ago - it was only 1 shipment and they were selling for $6...although [at the time I though these are really light and seem cheap] but for 6 bucks who cares! It's been the best 6 bucks I've ever spent.....and for being light...that's why I love it. I wish it was a regular product here...I'd buy another one just to have a back up.

Do you find that the sand heats up too much for the grass? Just thinking how hot it is to walk on the beach at high noon. I'm assuming for the most part it must work but wondering if you need to water more or take other steps if using that much sand.

Lawn Tips 140 cubic feet sounds extremely heavy. For reference that would be a small single axle dump truck load per 1000. I’m not a greens keeper but I would go no deeper than 1/4 to 1/2 inch per top dress. Correct me if I’m wrong

Is this washed sand which we can find in bunnings? I got buffalo lawn, please suggest what to use to level lawn.
If you go to Bunnings, I'd grab some sand pit sand in bags. Sand is fine with buffalo

That’s just what my converter told me. I’m not up with imperial units. What we used would have been about 10-15mm in thickness. 4m3 over 400m2

If your in the uk with low sunshine you cant use that much sand, you might need to do it in three goes over a few months
