- We take the latest 1:14 WLToys 144010 to the race track along with the popular LC Racing EMB-1 and see how they compare at our local off-road racetrack.
Previously we loved the wLToys144010 in our test and review but how will it do at the track against a 1:14 with a better track pedigree ?

Get the LC racing bumpers. They’re like $8 and simple to put on. Make a huge difference.
why didn't Eric try a lap with the 144010, we would then actually see a good comparison ;P ( with the same skills )
And without the cam + identical wheels/tires. But pretty sure the LC racing will still win.
@@soma_rc LC would win thats for sure ;) have myself a WL 124018 and LC emb-t. As you've mentioned, WL is unbeatable as an alround basher/trasher, emb-t is more fragile but way more reliable and precise ✌️
@@shred__dad the lc racing is more fragile than wltoys ? You mean with the same driving and crashes the lc racing will brake more easily compare to wltoys ?
@@but531 sorry wrong words used, fragile is not what i wanted to say, What i wanted, is that i wouldn't care if i crashed my 124018, where i would if i crashed my emb-t 😜
I have tried 144010 and actually I was the one driving it in the warm up footage😆. Our friend crashed my EMB-1 so I fixed it before the actual race.
Things that I made on my WLTOYS 124017:
Added anti-roll bars (mandatory for an best performance).
Added (3000) silicon oil on diffs.
Adjusted geometric of wheels.
Changed plastic spur gear for a metal one.
Changed rear chock silicon oil to another: 800.
Other car… Very, very cheap improvements.

Without the camera and a better tx/rx would it have been much closer?
Camera was a tiny insta 360 go. Not affect too much.
A better tx/rx would have helped .
But a few more upgrades would be required still.

Anyone who thinks the EMB-1 is worth double the price of a 144010 is crazy. I own both and dollar for dollar it’s not even a question what the better car is.
when everybody is telling me how cheap and good WLToys is, I decided to get one but was totally disappointed. The fragile plastic they used, there are play on every moving parts, etc.. As a Rc racer, i would say WLToys is a Rc toy, not a good competition Rc car, like LC Racing, kyosho, etc..

You still using the stock 144010 remote? That thing has lag issues.
Absolutely!
The major problem of 144010 is not the camera or tyres choice, etc. If we rip it apart, set it up properly and change the diff with proper oil, it will be a lot better on track!
Also need to add anti-roll bar
Before I even drove mine I adjusted the camber and toe-in, put on the EMB-1 wheels/tires, the anti roll bars, better 50w oil and reduced the suspension travel. Never drove it stock so I can’t say how big the difference was but it will destroy my Reflex 14-b and my 124017 around my track. The EMB-1 is not $120 better than the 144010, not even close.

I'm sorry but the skill gap between drivers is massive , you were using about 20-30% of the cars power , my friend as a 124017 and i have a 124018 converted to brushless , i know how fast those cars are and how little throttle you were using.
I agree the 144010 is very fast. As shown in our previous review.
However everything stock it proved a little too unresponsive and kept sliding out on the track.
Both drivers were equally as bad as each other .

@@rcexpatshk that's why i got a 124018 and converted it myself, this way i can choose my electronics and they are better than the stock one's - 3650 3900KV motor on a 27T pinion, 60A 2-3S ESC, 3.5kg super fast servo and a dumborc x6 with a gyro. It's not even close how much better it is this way and also faster than a 124016 stock.

@@rcexpatshk it is , and the whole conversation costs 90$ , they car was about 75$ , so 165$ total ( i do have other upgrades as well) for a brushless 1/12 that does about 80km/h on 2S and can run 3S (still scared to try 3S) and has a gyroscope and 500m range 6 channel radio.
