I recently tried making a playlist of songs I thought were perfect, and it really messed me up. I kept fighting with myself. Trying to figure out that the definition of perfect is. I kept hearing songs that I thought “there’s no flaw here” but when I compared it to what I already saved, it felt like there was a difference in quality. For example, I was on GKMC, I listened to The Art of Peer Pressure, and I couldn’t think of any flaw, but I also thought “m.A.A.d City is better”. So does that mean one perfect song can be better than another perfect song? Can I prefer the vibe of a song but still think a song that isn’t that vibe is perfect? Or does that mean I’m over estimating how good The Art of Peer pressure is? Or does that mean a song can not have a flaw but not be perfect? But that last one doesn’t work because flawless also means perfect. So idk anymore. I’d love a second opinion.
honestly that entire confusion is why i rarely like to rate things based on perfection. i mainly go off enjoyability. i have a playlist with the 100 “best” songs i’ve ever heard and realistically only about 10 are “perfect” but i think that definition of perfection changes based on so many factors. genre takes a big role and then it’s like ok is it perfect because it’s keeping a tradition sense of the genre or is it perfect because it’s genre-bending and trying new things. there’s way too much that goes into defining perfection and i think we all have our own meaning of perfection when it comes to a lot of things.
@@MarquesoDaGoat Honestly, I gotta agree. My Liked Songs is close to 1,200 now so I decided to put the BEST OF THE BEST in a playlist called No Skips. A song that I'd listen to, beginning to end, whenever it came up. One would consider songs like that "perfect", right? One day I skipped a song and it hit me. "How could I skip a song on No Skips?" I don't think there's a REAL "perfection". We all change so gradually day to day that yesterday's perfect might not be today's I say that to say... just enjoy the vibes, bro
@afroman9541 exactlyyyyy sometimes the “perfect” song may not fit the vibe of the moment so it’s all subject to change depending on scenario. going off vibes is the best 💯
