Hi Todd and Gio, thoroughly enjoyed both builds, but hey, forget the guitars, I could live off the out takes alone. You are 2 funny guys, and I love it. Thanks for excellent videos and incredible builds. Keep it going guys. 👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Thanks brother. I'm really glad you enjoyed this one. We had a blast making the video and I can't wait to get I to the next one!!✌️🤍
😂 Man, you wouldn’t believe the hours of outtakes I have already!😂
Both looking so good. You guys are awesome, pretty sure I could listen to you two chat until the end of my days. Just what this community should be about. Love and fun and artworks at the end.

I really look forward to your videos; you guys are an oasis in the desert of TH-cam dearth!!
Thank you for such a kind comment. I'm glad you like the necks but I'm really glad you like the video!! We are having such a great time doing this together and it's nice to hear that it works!! ✌️🤍
Thanks Tim, that’s really kind, we appreciate the support!👍

Thanks for the support!😀👍
What fantastic neck constructs guys!
Thank you brother. I'm so glad you like the necks. We're having a blast!! ✌️🤍
Thanks Paul, we really appreciate the support!😀👍
These necks look amazing love the black pearl binding @TornelliGuitars. And Todd that fretboard looking inlayed is amazing. - "I'm gunna tell you about this pencil" after Gio yawning was probably one of the greatest moments in a guitar building video ive seen!!!
Thanks man. We are having too much fun doing this together. I can't wait for the next one and yes, I have a Mechanical Pencil Problem!! Peace & Love
🤣Thanks Tom!👍
The calmest, smoothest voices in luthiery… it’s legit meditation for me, watching your vids. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the kind comment and support!👍
Thank you brother. That's a cool thing to say!!✌️🤍
Great guitar necks both of you!!! And thanks for brightening my day with your infectious laughter and fun. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Dave. We're happy guys doing what we love. Can't wait for the next one!✌️🤍
Thank you my friend!👍
The glow in the dark is a great idea for the fret dots.
Wonderful builds, you guys! Those necks look to die for. I really appreciate the shoutouts to others in the guitar building community, like Neil at NSJ Guitars.. My cat Rocko is a big fan of Casper and I really enjoys how he gets things solved. Party on, gentlemen!
Thanks man and tell your cat we both said hello!! I'm really glad you are enjoying the series so far! Peace & Love
😂 my cats are fans of Niel’s too! Thanks for the comment! 👍
Awesome necks guys! Can’t wait to see the next steps on both of these guitars!!
Thank you my wife. I'm sure Gio will feel the same. We're both so happy with them so far! Peace & Love my lady!✌️🤍
Thanks Joetta, and sorry for monopolising so much of your husband’s time!😂
@@TornelliGuitars no worries Gio!! He’s having a blast doing this collab with you!!😊😊
Truly enjoy these builds. Love how you are supporting the other builders.
We've both been so fortunate to grow a little faster than some of the other guys we share this community with and it seems right to try and support them!! It's our pleasure and our duty to do so!! Your time is coming Lisa!! You've been a supporter of mine for quite some time now and it's time for me to give back for that!! Thank you!!✌️🤍
Thanks for the kind comment and support Lisa!👍
Most excellent. This is going to be great.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. ✌️🤍
Thanks for the support, we really appreciate it!👍
This such a cool feature of these videos with you guys shouting out other builders. I was fortunate enough to be mentioned the last time and I got 13 new subs and a lot more watch time starting the day after that was posted. thank you so much for the shout and the feeling I got from hearing it. I was truly surprised when it happened. Keep it up as you gents do influence people and it does help the people you talk about big time.
The fretboard of Gio's neck just flows so nicely with the grain structure. It is like an outro to future music played on it where the grain starts high on a crescendo and subtly fades to to sublime silence. Such flow there and the sanding to a polished finish just makes it all super visual.
I had trouble on my compy to see any real detail on Todds fretboard but the rest of the neck from the now standard nine piece laminate to the painstaking attention to how the strings will line up on the headstock in contrast. I am sure he spent a sleepless hour or two pondering that binding work as well before actually going for it.
And as always you leave us wanting to see MOAR!!!!!!
Yeah, It;s hard to see any figure on white maple sometimes, once I hit it with some finish or even a little color it should pop! I'm glad you got something from this brother, We're happy to do anything we can and you know this!! It's all a part of being a member of this community with you. I'm really glad we know each other at this point!! ALways a pleasure hearing from you brother and you were right! Gio's fretboard is gorgeous! Unique Wenge is hard to top! Peace & Love
Thanks Bill, I’m so glad that the mention had some positive impact on your channel. That’s what the community is all about. Thanks also for your kind words, as always. It means a lot my friend!👍
Two friends and great craftsmen making art …… difficult to beat that.
Thanks for the good vibes.
Thanks for the kind comment and support, we’re really enjoying these!👍
Thank you for the comment. I'm really glad you are enjoying this series! More to come! Peace and Love
I love the look of the light colored maple fretboard with the dark colored neck. Looks killer, man!
Pencil nerd! Ha ha. It's almost worth skipping to the outtakes first :) Love it.
Thanks man. I am a pencil nerd. I always have been. I love a good mechanical pencil😂 thank you for the comment. ✌️🤍
🤣 Thanks Chris! 👍
I’m having a blast doing these with you my friend, bring on the next episode!😂
You know I love it too my brother. Let's just keep on. ✌️🤍
I got plenty out of this video... and then... the outtake section had me ROLLING!!! It was a such a nice ending to the video
😂 I’m glad you like those, we’re having a blast making these!👍
Great looking necks guys - was like watching a 3 ring circus, action all over the place - Gio - that black pearl with the wenge looks awesome, Todd the reveal under the binding is a special touch - Thanks guys - looking forward to the next installment - Cheers from Canada
Thank you my Canadian brother. I'm glad you like the maple reveal. I really want this one tight and unique. Gio's will be a prime example of cartsmanship for sure so I have to stay on top of this😁🤍😁
Thanks for another kind comment Dan, we really appreciate the continued support!👍
Loving both so far - can really see your respective personalities in the design choices. ✌❤
I think the styles we both really like will be reflected in the bodies of these 2 guitars. I love Gio's style. Clean and elegant. I tend to go a little less traditional but I still like to keep it clean and not too over the top. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!! ✌️🤍
Thanks Alex, we definitely end up with quite different guitars doing these!👍
2 genuinely nice human beings, 2 amazing craftsmen, and 2 incredibly amazing necks!!!!! All the best to both of you!
Thank you brother. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. More to come!!✌️🤍
Thank you my friend, that’s very kind!👍
Goodness. I really enjoyed learning a few pointers from you guys. It amazes me the techniques and concepts. Mind blowing! I know they’re both gonna be amazing!!!
Thanks for the kind comment and support!👍
Thank you for the comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!! Much more to come!✌️🤍
Hi Todd, Gio! Your work is getting better and better! I love both necks, they look great.
Peace and long life! 🖖
Thank you Brother. I feel myself get just a little better every time I enter the shop!! I love that! Peace & Love my friend.
Thanks for the support and another kind comment!👍
That ending was hilarious 😂
We are having such a great time making the videos. I'm really glad you liked it too!!✌️🤍
😂 Thanks, we seem to have more outtakes than actual content every time!😂
Loving this series...forget the guitar building...I could just watch you two interacting...especially the outtakes😂
Thank you Dom. I always appreciate your comments. We have another episode coming soon! I hope you continue to enjoy the videos!! Peace & Love
Thanks Dom, we appreciate it!👍
17:55 Todd! Dude! Thanks for the shoutout brother! Your fretboard binding is blowing my mind! Most of us use routers as a fast method of removing stuff - not an artistic tool. That looks incredible.
Thank you brother. I'm happy to do anything I can to help anyone in this community. Especially when it's someone who has been so super kind to me. I appreciate that my friend.
I figured I would go all out on the binding! Since it's the first binding I done, I wanted to learn everything I could in one go😂 I'm glad you like it. ✌️🤍
Episode 2 and another shout out...are you trying to make me blush 😊 Thanks again for the love, you guys are too awesome!!!
Love both the necks in very different ways, the technical simplicity of Gio's and the multi wood excess of Todd's, they both look amazing.
And Toddologue is my new favorite adjective 😂
Thanks brother. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't giving false info😂 ✌️🤍
Thanks Curtis! And yes I needed a term for ‘An extended monologue by Todd where he attempts to bring the universe back into a positive balance’ , thus the Toddologue was born! 🤣🤣
Bound for a Tshirt soon!!
Awesome work guys!
I must say my eye muscles got quite the workout, darting back and fourth, as I didn't want to miss a thing that either of you were doing!
Both of those necks are outstanding!
LUV the outtakes at the end!
Like a Burt Reynolds of Jackie Chan movie!
LOL!!
As long as Gio is Jakie I'm okay with that😂😂!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!! ✌️🤍
😂 thanks for the kind comment and support!👍
@@TornelliGuitars Looking forward to seeing the finished guitars!!
Good luck!
It's so cool to see two masters accomplish the same task from 2 different approaches.
Thanks brother. I am always excited to discover new way of doing things and Gio is such a great builder. I'm happy to be learning from him.✌️🤍
Thanks for kind comment and support!👍
Great video format! Beautiful necks!
Thank you brother. It's all about the community my friend. We're having a blast doing this together and I'm so glad you like the video style!! ✌️🤍
Thanks for the kind comment and support! 👍
I love how you guys have different approaches - it's like 2 lessons in one. And the bloopers are great :D Keep them coming too :)
We have no shortage of Bloopers!! I'm involved so that part is easy😂😂 Thank you for the support brother!✌️🤍
😂 Thanks my friend!👍
Thanks for the mention and kind words guys, appreciate.
I've sold 5 guitars and scrapped one that went pear shaped lol. A lot of it is just practice though, developing things as I go, trying stuff, learning.
Anyway nice wood, (feels strange saying that to a guy) lovely looking necks! As others, it can be a bit tricky trying to catch everything. I think I may just need to watch the build section twice lol
That's kind of the point brother. Gotta watch it twice. I didn't realize you were selling them but I'm glad to hear that you are. Your builds are super killer brother!!✌️🤍
😂 Yes, watch many times!😂 Thanks for the support Niel, we both love your stuff my friend!👍
Todd that's an incredible job that binding is a stellar job.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you like it !!✌️🤍
Looking good on those necks.
Thanks man. I really like them both. Gio's fretboard is something else! ✌️
Thanks for the comment and support Chris!😀👍
Interested and seeing how Y'all do the hollow body, that's where the tricky part is going to be, but after watching what Y'all built, I believe that it's going to be awesome.
I'm using a top and a back on a "Frame" or ash. We shall see how it turns out!!
Had a few chuckles. Love how the necks are turning out!
Thanks brother! ✌️🤍
You guys are havin' too much fun. Can't wait to see how things turn out.
Guilty as charged brother. We are having such a blast. I love doing these things with Gio. We've become such good friends and it's possible because of this community. I absolutely love it. Thank you so much for the support and the comment. ✌️🤍
Thanks for the support, we really appreciate it!😀👍
"I feel like people are watching me" lol u 2 could make a video of a collaboration where yall made a 2x4 and it would be fun and entertaining. Peace & Long Life
😂 Thanks my friend, we’re having a blast doing these!😀👍
Thank you. We're certainly having a really great time doing this together and it's nice to hear that it's watchable😂 ✌️🤍
If you hid your eyes from the camera on closeups the camera will focus much clearer on the little details your showing as the camera is always wanting to focus on someone’s eyes 😁
Cool work guys 👌👌
Yeah man, I'm trying to remember that but I feel like the room starts spinning if I close my eyes😂😂 Thanks brother
Thanks for the tip and for the support!👍
What a stunning pair. The chemistry between you is great. Cannot wait to see your next video.
Thanks Cliff. I'm so glad you like the series so far. I'm back on tbe Ceres build for a few days now then it's Body time for the Astrolabe!! I hope you will continue to watch!! ✌️🤍
@@SweetTGuitars Of course I will.
Thanks Cliff, we really appreciate the support!👍
I’m only 5min in to the vid and must say …….. love your choice of music -> now back to the build 🤓
Kudos to Todd for that choice!😀👍
Thanks brother. I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. I hope you continue to enjoy them as wego through this build. It's so much fun doing this with Gio! Peace & Love
I have routed for binding after radiusing, but it was terrifying. My process basically dictates that that route happens before radiusing. Which keeps me from having to radius material that will be removed. I'm glad Gio's turned out well. They both look fantastic. Good work guys.
Thanks Scott. I couldn't bring myself to wait until after radiusing. Like you, the though of that scared me!! I really appreciate the comment brother and I'm glad you like the necks!!✌️🤍
Thanks Scott and I really enjoyed the GBC stream today too!👍
Fabulous guys. I managed to squeeze this in before a flight 😃 Todd, I did a C to D profile on my last/second build and it’s so comfortable. Gio, have you done your 12th dots slightly closer together? Looks slick. I think we said a long time ago, we share the same opinion regarding dots size. You’ve both inspired to try a set neck myself on my GGBO23. I must get some videos out…
It has become my preferred profile!! It's the most comfortable and the best of both worlds in my opinion. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thank you so much for the comment!✌️🤍
Hi Jamie, yes they’re a little closer and we definitely agree on using smaller markers! Thanks for your continued support and yes you do need to get a vid up!🤣
You both made nice necks but I like the Sweet T's the best I like the darker wood it allows the maple to show up better and the wood that sandwichesd between the darker wood. It's just beautifulbas always .GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND.
Thank you brother. I'm glad you like mine better😂✌️🤍
Right I’m going to have to sabotage Todd’s body! 🤣🤣 thanks for watching!👍
Both those necks are looking great! For binding, I us the StewMac binding router bit and bearing kit. I prefer to do mine on the router table before radius-ing the fretboard. I find this to be a very stable way to cutting in the binding channel.
I have 2 different binding bit sets. One is from Amana Tool and the other is from WD music. I thought about cutting it on the router table but decided to go with the overhead method so I could see a little better. I'm going to try it the other way though!! Thank you Bill. Always pleasure to hear from you!!✌️🤍
I think you’re in the majority there Bill!👍
Gio's 4 pinstripe neck would be amusing/appropriate on a bass. 🤔🤣
I agree!! I give him crap for buying a pre-laminated neck blank but it is really a beautiful neck!! !!✌️🤍
That’s true, on both counts! 😂
Great stuff as always guys! Particularly loved the banter at the end.
The discussion about the importance of the neck really spoke to me, and helped me with something I've been struggling with the last couple of weeks. I've been building my 1st ever neck for my GGBO build this year, and as is probably to be expected with it being my 1st neck, I've made a few mistakes along the way. These are mostly minor things that can be worked around, but I know I'd never be completely happy with it. I was already considering making a new neck, but now I've decided to do it.
Yeah, if you're not happy with the neck you won't be happy with the guitar!! You got it man!! Thank you for the comment and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!!
Thanks for another kind comment! Wow you’re going to start again, that’s dedication! I’m going to check it out 👍
Wait. Just one graphgear 1000? JUST. ONE?!?! Nonsense!!! You can’t order just one!!! I have like 8 all scattered around the house!😂
So funny...👍
He didn't let me finish. The point was that I found a pencil I like way better and I did by 5 of them. The Ohto Super Promecha!! I like it way better than the Graphgear. I only ordered one Graphgear to see if I liked it and I do but not as much as the Ohto😂😂✌️🤍
Do not start Todd talking about mechanical pencils!… trust me! 🤣🤣
Toddalogue - rofl
It is a name Gio has a definition for!!A statement or series of statements made by Todd to try and bring the universe into positive balance😂 I love it!!!
🤣🤣 one day I will edit together all the Toddalogues that I have to cut to get down to a sub 30 min vid! 🤣🤣 it will be long!
Generic supportive guitar comment for the algo win
😂 Thanks buddy!👍
Thank you for the comment!!✌️🤍
Great watching these builds! Funny, I was Talking to my buddy this afternoon about building a walnut Tele and he suggested a maple skunk stripe. I told him I was thinking about a maple fretboard over a walnut neck. You guys have encouraged me to go with both Thanks!
Do it man. Sounds great!! Just enjoy the ride brother. I can't get enough of building at this point and I'm so proud to be a part of this with Gio and all of you guys! ✌️🤍
Oh man a walnut Tele would be great, go for it! 😀👍
