    There’s a couple of winner guitars there. I think my next purchase will be a semi in the style of these. I have a lovely old Ovation bowl back. Sounds great but not comfortable to sit and play. These two just look so comfortable and no doubt a pleasure to play.
    Thank you both for your work, artistry and sharing it with us. Legends both of you.

      @TornelliGuitars ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jay, that’s really kind. I had an ovation many years ago and I had the same issue, it used to roll off my lap when I was sitting around noodling. I think Todd and I both agree that the feel and comfort is a super important part of the build. I hope you find a semi hollow you love, and if not you know where there are 2 for sale!🤣🤣

    • @jaynbob42
      @jaynbob42 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TornelliGuitars They are nice guitars but yes the bowl back isn’t the easiest design for sitting.
      Lol I wish I could buy both but sadly they will both be a long way out of my budget atm, and for good reason. But I’m saving up slowly with the hope to one day get a custom build (or maybe two 😁 ) and I certainly know where to look when I do.

    Wow, fabulous guys. I don’t have a favourite, I love em both, but i do think they’re probably my favourite guitars that either of you have built. Totally with you Todd on the heel transitions and the happy accident with the maple is superb. Loving the choice of P90s., the snap and snarl, particularly through a Vox is awesome. I wish they did humbuckers and single coils with such clean mounting for non-scratch plate mounting. Last years GGBO, I used a Lollar, in the bridge with a different cap on the switch for the neck which might be a quick option to brighten up the neck 90 Gio. Btw, the juice box really made me laugh! I think what’s great about these builds is the yin/yang thing going on between you both. Jack Spratt and his wife, if you remember the rhyme. And while you learn off each other, I learn so much by watching you do that. There are many builders I pick things up from but I think both of you are probably the biggest influences of technique and process as I stumble along. It just works and what you do resonates with how I go about things and what I want to achieve. I probably sit somewhere between the both of you. Almost literally because I’m in England 😂
    Im with you gio, i love RevsStars so will check out the recommendations. As always, I look forward to what you do next, either together or individually. Once again I write a comment that turns into a book 😂

    • @TornelliGuitars
      @TornelliGuitars ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Jamie, we really appreciate it buddy. And yes the P90s through the Vox sound so good, pure rock n roll! I know what you mean about clean pickup mounting too, I’m going to do that next time I do humbuckers, I have a plan that will work and look as clean as P90s 😉. I have just ordered a set of Bare Knuckle P90s so I’ll be able to test them back to back and I’ll stick with whichever sound best. I really like the style of your builds too, I think we value a lot of the same things! Thanks once again for the support and encouragement!👍

    • @fatpotanga
      @fatpotanga ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TornelliGuitars I'd be really interested to see what you do with the humbuckers. I'm rear mounting the single coils on my GGBO build to keep it clean. I hate that daft triangley bit on single coils and pickup rings look really naff when you have the pickups angled. And yes, I do think we're very much on the same page in many respects 🙂

    DING round two of the rewatches. I have to watch these at least three times to see all of what you guys did on your builds. First time I watch the over all edit then the other two are watching nothing but one build at a time. the wood choices are always top notch so I may be getting jaded as I don't say much specific about them anymore. Now days its more wanting a better match between my video settings and your camera settings to see more details like the flame in Todds build better. Gios edits seem to have that old school look of a light sepia filter so some light and more subtle colors don't show up as nice as they are in real life I am sure.
    But that is what happens when you get this close to perfect builds. The nitpick about outside influences start to show. Thats how you know you are an accomplished builder hahah.

    • @SweetTGuitars
      @SweetTGuitars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm glad you're that way Bill and I listen! I really appreciate that you would watch the video 3 times. If I didn't know better, I'd say you are our first "Super Fan"😅 Anyway, Thank you so much my brother. Peace & Love

    • @TornelliGuitars
      @TornelliGuitars ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bill! Another invaluable comment my friend, thanks. You’re right my lack of video know how is not particularly helpful. We do what we can my friend and I do try to get these things as good as I can. A lot of my issue is that I have a lot of natural light that floods in from the left and bounces off the OSB that’s all around the walls. I will at some point have to invest in more pro level cameras and software but for right now that’s not on the cards. I’ll need to sell a few more guitars first!

    • @borgonianevolution
      @borgonianevolution ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TornelliGuitars Oh don't take that as a slight my friend. That adds a unique atmosphere and enhances the charm of what you do. Highlights the old school "build with intention, produce perfection" method you work by. That actually aids the calmness and serenity of your videos.
      If you want to make changes based on my old eyes and warped perception of things simply take your builds out into that bright natural light for the final "Beauty" shots. No need for expensive new gear use what you got to its fullest. Even cellphones these days are more than good enough to do anything with detail justice.

    Those are a pair of beauties. I have an idea for your next colab. Listening to Gio talk about how he over plans, and Todd say he doesn't plan; I remembered the videos that really got me watching Ben in the first place, the 12 and 9 hour builds. Start with hardware, and lumber you have on hand, no design in hand, just a blank sheet to draw on if you want to, a good supply of coffee, and a running clock. Live stream?
    Ben often says his favorite guitar is the 12hr, and it's one of mine too. I was in a hotel with the flu. I'd seen the Grace Kelly inlay video, and YT served up the 12 hr build. I wasn't going to sleep much anyway, so I clicked on the first episode at 9 pm. A lot of coffee later, there I was at 9 am watching him play it.
    I knew nothing about guitar building and, at first, I was just fascinated to see how one was made. As I've gotten to know Ben along the way, it was amazing to see him create on the fly, yet have to edit himself under the constraint of the clock. It was an interesting mix of the artist in Ben who wants to do MORE, and the efficiency of a pro at work as he just let his hands, tools, and experience do a lot of the thinking, and got it done.
    I think a timed challenge would perhaps push both of you, in different ways, to meet at the intersection of art and engineering.
    Anyway, this was a cool series, and have fun pluggin' in!

      That's a great idea. We'll have to have a chat about that. I feel the same about Ben as you and he is one of the main people I chose to learn from in the beginning. I miss those days! I really appreciate the time you have taken to suggest a collaboration idea for us. Thank you so much. Peace & Love

However that is a really interesting concept, maybe we’ll have a chat about how to do something along those lines. I’ve saved the comment! 👍

    one suggestion, Todd - while you are offline, maybe hold your guitar or a piece of wood up as though you are showing us the detail, then look at how it looks to the viewer.
    too much fast movement makes us get dizzy, and the wrong distance makes it blurry.

That's as important to me and anything else. I love this and sharing my love for guitars and building them is what is at the core of this for me. I think you know that my brother. That is a great question Mike and a very difficult one to answer! I struggle with pricing more than anything else but I also would like to offer guitars an non ‘eye watering’ prices. I’ll have to decide by the time we do the demo because it will go up for sale on my website but I build for the love of it not for money, so that has to be factored in. 😀👍
