I use the surfshark VPN , but in India the Indian servers are very slow , has lot of latency because its a virtual Server.
How do you still feel about it's performance with coding using the Baseline model. Are there random memory issues?

After continuous usage by rendering the video, playing games, writing codes, etc, does you noticed any heating issues on M2 ? People are saying there is no cooling system in m2 & it's heat up very fast ?
yeah it get's heated up mostly when you download something from any browser at 30-35 Mbps(~250mbps) otherwise while playing games or doing other stuff it's fine.
how is it for mobile app development? does't it heats up while using android studio and building projects?

As UI Designer, should i go for air m2 16/256gb model? I dont need huge storage as figma is all cloud. also i store important documents on dropbox. I dont do video edits so i dont store large files. Only few torrent movie files. for large storage and gaming i already have gaming desktop/laptop. I enjoy the versatility of windows but wants to experience portability of apple laptops.

@@darkthought549 hey you're lucky to be in india. i was in Uganda for and that is much worse. we can't even find jobs. and the software jobs we get are miserable.
that is why i shifted to United States this year in march and changed my life. crossed the border from mexico to usa

The SSDs are only slow in base model of M2 AIR(i.e. 256ssd model) due to presence of only one 'nand' chip rather than 2 nand chips of 128gb each...but in 512gb and others SSD models you won't get slow speeds of SSD.....so you can go with M2 air but with 512 and more models rather than being scared of 256gb model slow speeds...nice video brother🙌🙌
rather than spending extra $200 / 20k for 512GB SSD, I would recommend to spend that amount in upgrading to 16GB RAM. That will be more beneficial.

Well I ordered the 16 gb 512 m2 air because 256 slows it down and every programmer should opt out for that and you need 67 watt charger too and paid $1700 after tax
@@amiya51 True that! Updrading both SSD and RAM will take it up to 1.6L which does not make sense as we can get M1 Pro 14inch at 1.95L and also at 1.75L with student discount offer. But since the M2 Air has performance drops for the 8GB version, it's recommended to get the 16GB version for people doing moderate demanding tasks, else spending 1.2L and not getting adequate performance does not make sense. Also M1 Air 16GB / 512GB version is available in flipkart at 1.22L only currently, which is another great deal!

In my country The M2 Macbook Air Starts at 1300€ (for the base model).
It can go as high as 1800€ - Apple MacBook Air 13,6 Retina M2 8GB 512GB SSD.
P.S My country does not have an official apple store.

Bro i really need help I'm planning to start coding and i need a macbook. I'm really confused between M1 mba and M2 mba. @@ultron207 mac! Hands down get a macbook air, you’re good for your program. I did embedded systems, so not very memory intensive, go for a better one if you’re doin sth else.

SSD is not part of M2 chip, it is stand alone chip soldered next to M2 chip. And swap can be used with every device, especially in linux there is many possibilities how to configure swap. Only reason why swap is so good on new M1/M2 is because of speed of this SSD drives used with M1/M2 devices. But this king of fast PCIe4 SSD can be now used in latest notebooks and PC too. And swap is heavy load on SSD and especially on 256GB model it can shorten lifespan. And in MacBook it is not possible to change SSD so I will try to avoid swapping if possible. In short term it is good but if you want to use your new macbook for 5-6 years it is possible that it will fail one day.

Or should I increase my budget and purchase an M2 Macbook air. @@priyankmehra532 How much ram is enought is based on apps you are using. It is hard to tell. Maybe someone with experience with editing video files will tell how much ram is enough.

@@priyankmehra532 i don’t have experience with this devices but at least from what i saw on youtube tests. It depends on how much your use case is depend on speed of disk. And ofcoure if you are able to use all 16GB of memory then while swapping it can be slower. But Apple released Air with M3 yesterday and if i am not mistaken, they use again at least two nand chips even with basic ssd. At least Maxtech talked in video something about it. So generally M3 should have better performance.

People are saying upgrade to 512GB SSD to fix the speed issues; while that will speed up the SSD it’s not going to fix swap memory issues which are where you see the slowdown. I’d imagine getting 16/24 GB RAM is a better idea. 8GB is not enough for Xcode, FCP and Android Studio at the same time.
And if you run out of RAM, you can’t change your mind later; if you run out of drive space, it’s easier to rectify through an external drive.
Ig then u would be better off with Macbook Pro 14' M1 pro
@@musadiqpashak3151 good point but the MBA can probably handle workloads that big (maybe without a render going on at the same time) reasonably well, from the look of the video the only significantly limiting factor was RAM.
Also There’s still a large price difference between the 16/256 M2 Air and the base 14” Pro

@@WidePhotographs I’d imagine upgrading your RAM would be beneficial especially with Xcode but it should suit from what I’ve heard (don’t own one myself - but plan to soon)

Letting your MacBook rely on heavy swap usage can result in early wear out of the SSD. If you plan to run multiple memory hungry apps in parallel, a MacBook with at least 16GB of RAM is recommended. The SSD on MacBook air m1/m2 cannot be replaced once damaged by excessive thrashing.
Or boot from External SSD as Apple Silicon have the features built in

A 16GB RAM /256 GB SSD MBA M2 will increase the speed and performance reducing the need for Swap memory.Its way better in terms of Speed, Performance, battery,lightness,magsafe,audio,camera when compared to M1 MBA.

I’m getting that configuration as well. Since you have the 16 RAM you wont need to use as much swap memory. And if the storage isnt enough, you can use the gift card and buy external storage or buy more storage in the cloud .
@@lateek35 Actually, no. It's louder, but not better. The highs and lows are not as clear as M2. But it takes a trained ear to tell the difference. Most people would assume louder is better...
