The market is scary right now. I am a recent high school graduate. Always wanted to get into software engineering but scared af about the job market later on.
Why get into student debt if there are no entry level jobs? At least you figured out how the job market is truly like before wasting time and money on something with no return on investment. Offshoring and AI combined will cause mass unemployment like never before.
pick a different degree, and learn software on your own

1) 3 YOE is not senior.
2) Just by putting 'senior' on resume does not change anything. The company will always look for the overall years of experience you have. Even if you lie, there are background checks and if you caught lying in that you will be blacklisted forever by that company,

Coding is not dead. Neither the software engineering. AI is not responsible for Lay-off either. AI is increasing productivity and revenues for companies. When company productivity and revenues are increasing, companies go for more hiring, not firing. You have to know how to use AI.
