loved this one guys..been thinking about trying this film as a few people in FB groups I'm in have said its a great film to use so will order some as soon my usual online supplier has some more in stock.
You guys rock! However, any chance you guys can work on your mics? I hope your channel blows up- just sub'd and had this channel notified when you guys release a new video. KEEP ROCKING IT!
fatalitythoughts Thanks so much for the support! We're always working on improving audio, and will progressively upgrade equipment and improve our techniques as we gain traction :)
This film has a very wide tonal range so if you can shoot a couple of rolls at box speed then do that first with no filter. That should give you an idea what the film is doing. If you scan negatives they will look very flat but that is it's strength for superior tonal range. In the darkroom you can add more contrast to taste via filters. I ended up using a yellow #2 filter and processing with RPX. I have yet to order some of the Bergger developper to compare against RPX. I've tried D76 and did not like that developper. Stay away from cheap developpers! The film holds a good amount of detail even overexposed a bit so don't worry too much if your exposure skills aren't spot on. Shadows don't go black like JCH & TriX. This film is sharp like Acros but better tonally. For now this film is my primary go to film over Acros and HP5+. Bergger can be pulled and pushed but I find it best at box speed for my taste. Experiment!
Teng Vang awesome, yeah, I wanted to get that Bergger dev to test it out and give it a whirl. I'll run through 2 rolls this weekend with some HC110 (Dil B) and see how it performs. Does it dry flat? Or should I expect some curling?
What developing time, temperature did you guys do on the D76?
Jonathan Foong We developed for 11 minutes, in 20 degrees 1:1
As always, great work you two 😊 looking forward to the Sydney Vlog!
Great review! Hope this channel gets big! You guys have great stuff!
Thanks heaps Thomas An!
