Paul is the best. I got the opportunity to play golf with Paul a few times because we both had John Redman as a teacher. Paul is a better person than a golfer which is pretty amazing. He is super funny and very knowledgeable about many different topics. Paul Azinger is my favorite golfer/person of all time.

Great analysis, and excellent work with the tellestrator.
I have a very similar body dimension and posture to PA and this video made me realize how freakishly similar our swings are. I think body types will naturally gravitate to certain swing characteristics. I ended up with a strong grip as well. I think tall and lanky invites an upright swing and an upright swing needs a strong grip.

Strong Grip..I play with a strong grip and I was looking for proof that a Strong Grip works. Thanks. I played tennis with a Western Grip. Western Grip and Strong grip seem to be the same. Back in the late 70's Borg started the Western Grip top spin moon ball game. I copied that and beat all the local tennis pros they had continental grips which seems to be a weak grip. Now Im 67 my daughter married a top college golfer so I just took the game up. Ive birdied the 1st hole 535 yard par 5 the last 2 times Ive played. Ive played about 90 times since May 1st. I ski 118 days Mt bike 120 days now fitting 100+ days of golf into the year. Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.. Thanks

I loved rooting for Paul, and then I realized he was my favorite golfer to this day. Great announcer and could be a great politician if he pulled his head out.

Wayne can you explain how Duval has a strong grip and a flat left wrist while Zinger's strong grip gives him the expected cup. I used to think the LH had to be weak to get the flat left wrist now I see different DJ another example.

You can flatten the wrist with any grip it just changes where the club face is pointing.

i remember when zinger really had the game when it came to some of his ryder cup matches, tough competitor as you said.

    I love Azinger's swing too...what's wrong with 'right-politics', LOL.

Great analysis thank you, I also would like to see him play on the senior tour. I have a strong grip, and cup the left wrist. I have always struggled with that wrist position when I strike the ball. Any suggestions as to what that wrist should do would be appreciated.

wayne great analysis of paul azinger, wayne you see the best players to have played the game hit a high ball, how high do you think paul azinger hit the ball and how do you think paul got away with quicker releases than normal, it seems like with his strong grip he would smother hook every shot, how do you think paul got away with it.

Paul, saw Moe Norman in a Golf Clinic when he was younger,....so, many of his swing positions are a result of his earlier experience of watching Moe's phenomenal Ball striking!

His politics are a little "right"? You mean he's conservative? I think that's a good thing.

Interesting that Paul’s instructor John Redman taught a swing with minimal lateral motion, yet Paul employs such a pronounced lateral slide.

Hi Wayne: Do you consider Paul a player that anchers his swing on his left side?

I have lot legs and high waist like azinger, Davis love, etc and I noticed most of these body types straighten the right leg.
People keep telling me to maintain the knee flex in rear leg but I just can't. I'll collapse. Lol

keep letting it straighten. bend it on the down swing and externally rotate your right hip.. it will create the sam snead squat move. :)

The ugliest swing ever. I can't look at Zinger's grip without feeling nauseated. How good could Azinger have been with correct fundamentals? It takes tremendous natural talent to break every fundamental out of Five Lessons and still win a major.
