I been curious of this place since it’s first concept over 20 years ago when they started the world island ..since the financial bust in 2008 I never heard anything else about it but the Moroccan hotels with the floating sea horse suites surrounding is a nice start to breathing life back into the project. That mini diorama really helped sell the vision of what they are trying to do and I am excited to see more. Really glad they gave you access to film all of that to share with us.
no, it won't. You don't want to buy a property on the world islands. Barring the exorbitant price tags, what you also need to pay additionally is home insurance premiums. And companies refrain from insuring world islands because the land/sand is eroding away.

Is there actually anything to do in Dubai or is it just moving between really gaudy luxury rooms and constantly flaunting wealth? It's like Las Vegas but with none of the culture. It's always like ... this tub is a million dollars ... and it's like cool it IS beautiful and I do like taking baths but I feel like that's always the highlight - the price tag. Wow, nice I'll be bored out of my skull in this million dollar bath as if something being expensive automatically makes it interesting. Lots of people with exorbitant amounts of money and zero taste.

I remember those World Islands being built in 2007 before the property crash. Looks like the islands are still not built on or occupied. What went wrong?

Plus they absolutely need to send money to their families who rely on them. Everything is done to make them believe they have no choice. This is what we call modern slaves.

In future when world will be overpopulated people will start to live in these places. In 1950 american made big hotels and building and all was empty for a while but today we see all kinds of people live. Future will east not west

Beautiful architecture and I can definitely see the fascination. It allows architects to express their creativity and make it come to life but at the same time it is so wasteful if it is rarely used. Also need to keep in mind that the earth is heating up. Who will really want to live there when it is already +50 in the summer! Time will tell
Thank you for a great video! There are many breath taking real estate projects throughout Dubai. This is undeniable. However, after Dubai having a booming real estate sector , as a broker I would be quite nervous right now for what the coming years will bring , especially in real estate in Dubai. With the Globe now entering a recession/possible depression expect a significant drop in proerty as the housing bubble bursts. I have seen a few of Farooq Syed's Vlogs. I will be more than happy to buy from him after the real estate market collapse!
Exactly, it’s already overpriced as it is and the although yes dxb is growing its unsustainable at the appreciation rate it’s going for anyone outside of the ultra wealthy to afford and not all the ultra wealthy will be in dxb so something’s gotta break at some point not to mention the fierce competition from Qatar growing and Saudi wanting in now .

No, each island is independent but obviously the ones they showed us (in what is supposed to be the European part of the world islands) has its own power system setup for their hotels but people who have bought the other empty islands will be responsible for supplying their own power, water supply, trash removal, and transportation on and off the island.
I would love to see a review from Uncle Mike about St. Barthelemy/St. Barts in the Caribbean. It seems like this Caribbean island would be a place suited for him.

Dubai is simply another world. Everyone who is allowed and able to live there is blessed.
The majority there are slaves (mostly from Asia and Africa) working for the 10 to 25% who have money. I don't think those people are blessed.
The problem is nothing there is natural, everything is fake. Every beach, Every plant. Maybe the water is fake water they have pumped in a hole

Do these islands have a fully working power supply?
No, each island is independent but obviously the ones they showed us (in what is supposed to be the European part of the world islands) has its own power system setup for their hotels but people who have bought the other empty islands will be responsible for supplying their own power, water supply, trash removal, and transportation on and off the island.
