    Thanks for the vid.
I Bought a new one of these yesterday for a TMD that I’m constructing. It is very toy-like. The first revolution had 2 of the spring contacts ripped to bits, obviously no quality control whatsoever. I removed all 4 of them directly after this disaster. It only lines up properly with the different tracks by driving it clockwise. If anti clockwise, it’s about 2mm out due to the slop in the gears. Basically it’s a toy, I’ll improve it and stick with it until I secure a better one.

Hornby Product Support produce a schematic page for a R070 turntable to DCC, they use the Hornby R8249 decoder.

The polarity from start is changed as the turntable moves around - becomes + as it hits a diff angle stops short circuit if dc left rail wi alter to right rail so change polarity 4 these rails prob solved

So basically this is basically the same as using a DC controller with a reversing switch to control the turntable?
You can't actually tell it to go to out-track 3 and then have it automatically stop?
It's interesting to control it this way, but I don't see much advantage of doing this over a manual switch that can reverse the polarity.
    :)

Cannot understand the logic in using a hot soldering iron over plastic, when it could quite easily have been moved.
