I hope the Night Folks don't get you, I hear they are in bayou when its getting dark or when it's dark to hunt people with their knifes, traps and bows.
I remember reaching chapter 4 and decided to take a walk in the middle of the swamps then out of nowhere i see a lady crying, i went to investigate and she tried to charge at me, i shot her then out of nowhere i find 3 other nightfolks running towards me hissing like snakes, i got freaked out and decided to run then got jumpscared by a gator and died 🙈
I've played countless hours in the main campaign over the years since it released on both console and PC, and the swamps at night still to this day freak me out and make me feel uneasy in my surroundings whenever I'm riding through them. They really nailed the ambience in this area of the map incredibly well. I really enjoy how each 'region' has its' own distinct feel both day & night. One of the reasons this will forever be one of my favorite games that I've ever played.
On my 2nd playthrough, I never really stopped to appreciate just how well done the swamps were, having been in florida and georgia for good portions of my life, they NAILED the feeling.
At first seeing the glowing rider on horseback kind of alarmed you until you saw it was the rider with a lantern better be glad you didn't pull your gun out later on you heard the train headed into the city of Saint Denis and there goes the lantern guy on horseback again and now you hear the frogs and crickets off in forest and the sounds of another train going out of Saint Denis and into the small towns throughout the valley and countryside and once there goes the lantern rider again and this time you see a badge on him and you disappear into the night, G'NIGHT
All those people must’ve been freaked out, seeing a man watch over the bridge at night in a swamp!
I love this ambiance of the bayou. RDR2 is really a very good game !
The Frogs and Crickets sound beautiful!
