They all look like lost sheep in the swamp. If it weren’t for me and my boat, they’d of walked through its waist-height, dark waters. They call themselves champions, but the man in heavy armor is shaking just from the sounds of crickets and cicadas. Hope we don’t see one of the alligators or worse, the submerged undead which sometimes wake at the stirring of water.
My lantern is usually the only source of light but the mage’s staff provides us with more illumination. It’s nice to have a little guidance, but it makes the water that much darker. Hanging moss gave the man in robes a start, then he tried to chuckle it off. There’s no way these champions are prepared for what waits them in their adventures, if we even get to the other side.

Thanks for making this! I honestly really like swamps. Specifically Mangrove swamps. I don't know why, but the look of Mangrove wood and their roots just appeals to me, and I just think Wetlands (Swamps, Marshes, Bogs/Mires) are just really cool as a in general.
Ooh, I love this! This makes me wanna run a campaign with a high level swamp. Why are swamps always low level! Where are the thirty foot long sarcosuchi?
I really appreciate the sasquatch sounds. i listen to this all the time while doing solo gaming. i keep rolling a timer die for the sasquatch in the swamp to show up during combat. i take a while to do things, so when the roars come in, thats when i move the timer die the Squatch has almost shown up a few times, but the party scrams when combat is done, who wants to run into that? lol

I actually grew up in a swamp. Sounds just like my childhood, lol. I remember foxfire and playing with it.

from the first second on I get the feeling of having to hit mosquitos around me ;-) I love the bubbling quietly in the background and the off and on howling in the distance ... great ambience. again! :-)

Nightmare Express i dont remember completely but i wrote some of it down,
This is what i wrote down:
(Btw some of the words are changed and some of them are just porly translated english is not my first language)
I wake up in a swamp, i look around i see that it is either night or the trees are blocking out the sun, but i think it was night, i look around to see a scared man running into the fog, i yell for him to stop, but he does not, a few moments later i hear screams and a big roar. After hearing the roar i start walking away, (i dont know why im not running)
I start walking towards a little glowing blue thing (it kinda looked like a blue glowing jellyfish, but it was floating in the air) i walk some more then i see something standing in the water, it has what looks like five legs and no head, later one of the legs (actually its neck) emerges and reveals its head, it had been grazing (feeding) on the bottom of the water. I walk away from it, startled by its creepy face, after having walked for some time i hear i muffled hummibg sound, i lool around and i see a pack of floating creatures flying above me, i am not scared by them as they look harmless, i follow them for a while.
Im going to stop here because i want to do something else than writing a youtube comment, if you want to know more i can tell you, if i see your comment notification.

Okay, after having followed the floating cratures, i was eventually jumpscared by a little man (maybe a child) who made the gesture for me to follow him i followed him for quite some time, after having walked for a while he stopped dead in his tracks and ran into the forest, after he ran into the brush i heard the creepiest scream i have ever heard, it was really loud it sounded like it came from a massive creature i started to run away from the sound, i ran and ran until i reached water i was standing on the edge of the water, terrified of what was coming, before anything happened though i heard something wading/running through the water i looked behind me and there was a herd of the «five legged» creatures running away from something i stood there frozen in place and just looked at the huge beasts running then i saw it the massive prawn like creature running after them, it leapt at one of the creatures and bit across its throat (grissly i know) it then stopped (i asume it had seen me) it looked at me, i stood frozen staring at it for about 5 seconds before it let out a terrible scream and lept at me, before it could reach me though a man jumped at it and stabbed it in the head, i didnt see his face and i didnt recognize his voice but after he killed it he pointed in a direction and said «there is a town that way» i tried to say thank you but before i could say anything he leapt away, i started walking and when i saw lights (from a town i guess) i woke up
I know its a shitty clifhanger and i wish i could just live a lifetime in that universe it was so cool (and scary)
Now I wanna know what in the name of Lovecraft is that roar in the distance

I’d be worried after hearing that loud monstrous roar, maybe even think about traversing the trees rather than the mucky mud and waist high water where something could very well snatch me out of nowhere. A lot of nasty beasties who call the swamp home, but there may be beauty found in such a local if you look hard enough I suppose. Just don’t get lost and you should be fine.

This is so fantastic, and great for my campaign! Would you be able to create something similar in a normal forest? In my campaign, every forested area is plagued by hideous monsters and vicious, Druidic tribal elves, and these forests are spreading like a plague due to Druidic magic. Any ambience that would make a forest sound threatening would be awesome.

Michael Ghelfi I imagine that the feeling is that some sort of evil stalks just out of view. All of the normal animals, like birds and things, have fled, and the only creatures left are strange and corrupted. I find elk calls pretty creepy, and I imagine many of the monsters like fiends from the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, meaning elk carry a strong theme. If there is birdsong, it might sound strange and off. Usually I find that ambiences with too many loud sounds (eg crow cawing) is disruptive when playing, but things like creepy roars, gurgling, or breathing, maybe some rustling of bushes, add to the mood (I have nothing against crows, they make pretty freaky sounds).If it helps, I love your Dungeon Filled with Monsters, and this one, Dark Swamps. The pacing and mood is just what I’m looking for. Thank you for asking for specifics!

I just had an idea! Have you done any music for "competitive fantasy sports"?
I'm thinking Steampunk/Victorian Style background music that you might hear played at some fancy

I don't understand your question. What is competitive fantasy sports ? E-Sport ? Like CS:GO or LoL tournaments ?
I'm not sure there's a demand for that, or they could use what I've already composed.
