About Dressy Sally (English, Learning Corporation of America print, 1978)

- This is the Learning Corporation of America print of the English dub of the notable lost Czech AAA Studio animated short from 1976, "About Dressy Sally" (known as "Clock Man" by the fans and just "Sally" in the English dub), made by the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic that stars Sally who lost his second glove being lost with some help from a wizard called "Mr. Kadabra," which he never forgets the idea. the English dubbing from 1978 was narrated by Pearl Peterson and was later ended up airing on Pinwheel program on Nickelodeon in the early 1980s after the short being picked up by Coe Films, this is the English dubbing of "About Dressy Sally" that has the original title card that was never shown on TH-cam, until now, filmed in a 16 mm tape. the wizard possibly did not forget something, but there's one more that he forgets, the English title card that wasn't seen on TH-cam for 3 years.)
Now i understand why the guy was traumatized about this to the day he found this again decades later. The wizard is pretty frightening, wide creepy smile, empty glazed stare with overall dark color scheme. Almost resembles the Groke from the Moomins. Image of the Wizard burned into your mind, warped by decades and when you finally see it after all of those years, it's as scary as it was like back when you were a kid.

Mr. Kadabra is rather creepy looking, but he’s definitely a case of not judging a book by its cover.
Well, Commander Santa's (while trying to remember what this cartoon short looks like after he saw it as a kid before it got found) version is way more scarier, as his version of Mr. Kadabra (mentioned as The Clock Man) ends up kidnapping a child without any escape.
This is why old cartoons-animations are much better than the ones now days, all the effort they put in only that animation was completely worth it
There's something trippy about this scan of the print, complete with the optical soundtrack on the right side
I kinda like it that the wizard turned out to be almost completely harmless, despite looking so eerie. And idk why but I like these old, unpopular cartoons, there's just something about them, the aesthetic and the calmness, I guess that the people that made this wanted to create something like a bedtime story, but instead they unknowingly traumatized the children who watched it, with the appearance of this wizard.
Still, for me it didn't looked that bad as commander santa described it 😅
Pretty sure I remember this from Pinwheel back in the day. I distinctly remember Sally jump-roping into the foreground and Mr. Cadabra appearing in the trees

Maybe it's because I've seen far creeper shit but this isn't scary.. I don't even think I would find it scary as a child.
It's a sweet wholesome story about telling the truth and how hard work pays off.

@@amandastill5124 In order to save time and money, the paper stop motion method was scrapped (no pun intended) in favour of computer animation after Trey and Matt received an endorsement for an animation program known today as Autodesk Maya. There is however one deleted scene from the pilot which was used in one of the later episodes of the first season.

Just creepy! You wonder what was going on in the creators head. Taking little kids from their beds and the things damn right creepy everything about the stinks of someone into kids
That's why Commander Santa was traumatised from this short, but this ended up turned out to be friendly, although still used a clip about a wizard taking a girl to a magic chamber, where Commander Santa imagined, but his version is scarier and usually has the wizard kidnapping a kid, never to be seen again.
