@@robinsalario4372 none of them is from Trastevere, maybe it's where Damiano saw a character who inspired him to write the song, like one of those people who get other people to find the queen out of three cards. At least this is my interpretation.

Also i agree, the two songs have definitely a correlation and is not by chance they have been released together with other 2 songs on a similar theme.
Love them both for different reasons. One cant help but bounce to and the other i cant help but look within
Agree with the talent and the contrast. Note that Damiano only smokes weed, no drugs, and no alcohol. The others use alcohol, but no evidence of drug use. Lots of metaphors, and remember LOVE is a drug.

@@stefangummesson8367 I think many people see weed as a good fix all substance. Now legal in most Western Countries, and most of the USA for at least medical reasons. In fact MJ has a better reputation than tobacco, and is ok to smoke in more places!.
Do I agree? Not completely, I think it can have a lot more adverse consequences than most are willing to admit. As a drug it is less problematic than alcohol or any other “drug” however.

@@Barbara_M. Semantics! In the USA the word drug is mostly meant to mean illegal/mind altering substances. But, yes we also go to the drug store. However, as a physician I prescribe medicine and not drugs, and I’ve never heard Aspirin referred to as a drug. In Germany the word “drug” (Drogen) is only used for illicit substances.

Trastevere is a famous iconic and romantic district of Rome. The name means beyond the Tevere (Rome's river). But the pronounce isn't Tras ti ver😂

Nice reaction! I like to think of these songs that have been released lately as a progression of one another as well. According to Damiano, he wrote Trastevere when he was at a very low point and questioning the price one's gotta pay to get where they are. The song depicts a conversation with the devil. It definitely rings honest, he's the sole lyricist and it was clearly a way to process his feelings.
Old video, but I thought maybe I'd add some context, if someone will see it in the future.
So basically last year Damiano broke up with his long time girlfriend. Then songs like Off my face and others, among them Valentine, appeared. They're both clearly about processing that ending point in the relationship and both use a metaphor of love/person as a drug. In Valentine: "I can feel you in my blood", " i'm always running to you", "my decline" - it's like the relationship that became toxic or harmful, but you can't give it up. And Off my face literally equates love to addiction and prison, that you're trying to break free from (the video shows them doing crazy shit, but the lyrics are actually quite depressing).
Trastevere is about making a deal with the devil, selling your heart/life for succes. The chorus is about wanting to erase that deal and also telling your loved ones that they were always more important (according to what he said in the interview). I always read it as reflecting on what you've lost- like that loved person is already gone, so you have to move on (cancel their name from the songs).
It's apparently an old song, so it's hard to say what it was exactly referencing originally, but the fact that they recorded and released it together with something like Off my face, kinda suits the same situation- loosing someone. Based on some other songs he wrote and some interviews, it seemed like the lifestyle he had, all the fame related stuff etc, had a big impact on his personal life.

Out of curiosity I checked with the guy the stadium.could host 35,000 and apprx 17,000 attended the gig but he also said tickets costed something like 150 bucks and most people there lives on 600 a month🙄 and because the band was there less than a year ago... it made me think about how different reality could be with a different scenario...

From what ive read from other fans on other vider is Trastevere is a street in Rome? Where one of the guitarist is from. I could be off with relaying the msg. Hopefully someone can correct me so the info is on point.

Trastevere è un quartiere di Roma che si trova ( al di là del fiume Tevere) da qui il nome tras... Tevere è un quartiere molto antico e caratteristico ci sono molti pub discoteche bar pizzerie e i ragazzi romani si ritrovano li per stare insieme e passare una bella nottata in compagnia
