The huge positive in this game was the interior design of the house. As for the rest, it left me with a lot of questions --- the story behind the girl, the primary reason why the main character wanted to be "one with her", why doing all these specific instructions per day summons her, and how were the entries filled up in that notebook if there's no other person in that house except the main character. All throughout, it felt as if the girl was more of a roommate than a menace..... and if I have to go by the ending, I may as well say a roommate with benefits. XD
I'm reminded of a game I saw one LPer play a few years back. I wanna say Kravin. Basically you encounter a ghost in your house. Turns out its the ghost of dead girlfriend/lover/wife. And she just wants to be with you, even after death.
I lived in Pagosa Springs, Colorado for a few years. It was beautiful! Callsd it Narnia... There was 47' of snow a year, so, ya, my patio looked JUST like that if ya didnt shovel every 2 hours, you couldnt get out of your house! There were TUNNELS everywhere. Couldnt drive off the road, you hit a literal wall of snow... I miss that place... *to see pictures, Google SNOW IN WOLF CREEK PASS, COLORASO
The game was doing an amazing job at the build up. Getting you used to the environment, then making you try to notice what's changed while a horror roams the halls was a brilliant idea. But all the build up for a cliche, supernatural run around completely sapped all the horror for me. Even a well timed jump scare would have served better. Pretty good game aside from that, great vid!

Pretty good as a game jam offering. I agree that it could have been much better with more time put in. One big basic flaw for me was that the protagonist should have had a _compelling_ reason to follow the creepy instructions. He/she/they had no reason at all to follow them as far as I could tell. And, frankly, after reading the instructions on day 2, I would've forced my way out or, in lieu of that, popped the cork on a bottle of wine and settled in for a nice long Jacuzzi. 🍷 😁
This game looks absolutely beautiful, but I agree it falls flat. I hope they choose to delve a little deeper with this game, because it definitely shows promise!
The stairs with the invisible barrier seemed like an unfinished section of the game. It looked like the developer was starting to work on an "other world" area. Has great potential.
Chris should be a consultant for indie/new game developers. His perspective would definitely help games that are lacking in certain areas or missing elements that would make them all around better 👍🏼
Honestly I thought that was a condo, not an apartment! The thing that would of made this better is that she wasn't really a threat to you, just bored & wanted to hangout.

The house looked nicely constructed, but everything else was kind of dumb. I think this was based on an urban legend that I heard of a few years back. That if you do all this stuff, you can get a monster to appear( I even think that there was another game like it). Its a cool premise, but this version was just poorly done. I am a sucker for long, black-haired monster girls though.

Not bad. There's definitely room to make it more intense. Maybe have her scream if you accidentally look at her or maybe she can throw a teacup at your head. Or have her try and scratch at your eyes and your vision gets harder to see the more you get caught? Idk😁. This still can be something really amazing. At least this house didn't have a fuse problem! Okay so why does the person have to stay locked inside? I mean if it was safe enough for the renter to leave should be safe enough for the player xD ( 0:55 seconds in will edit as I watch) well damn(3:00)
Unreal makes it so accessible for anyone to make a visually good looking game, but that doesn't mean it's going to be good. I wonder, does Unreal automatically model reflections, but in this case, there's no player character modeled? I just wonder why there are no reflections.
