Note: I just want to make one thing clear, at the 2:40 mark. If you are using a GOXLR, DAC, or other external output source, you DO NOT need to click on "Install using SFX/EFX". You DO however need to complete the install process on whatever your output source is, you just don't need to click on the troubleshooting option. At any point in time if you need to install or uninstall from a particular output source. Just go to Program Files>Equalizer APO>Configurator and click on or off the check boxes. Correction: The first time the configuration editor opens, it wont be blank; It will show 3 items: Preamplification, Include, & Graphic EQ. Delete all 3 by clicking the red minus icon on the left. Then follow my instructions. Tip: As I state in the video, you can adjust the two peaking filters to your liking. Specifically the one at 270hz, I recommend fine tuning to that to your liking anywhere from 100hz to 270hz.

Hello I am Using a Soundblasterx G5 and Beyerdynamic MMX300, for mixing the voicemeeter Potato. I installd the apo on Output A1 and on the sb output device. The sound is strange… very dull and reverberant. How can i fix that issue ?

I setup my equalizer APO twice. It seems that every time I turn off my PC and come back a few hours or even a day later I can't open the APO, also TDR will not open I'm my editor.

Dude I have searched countless hours for equalizer APO settings for various fps games...none of them really wowed me til today. I knew it would from the get go because your the only person that had everyone get their headsets to a baseline eq in order for the filters to work properly....every other game audio youtuber is just throwing out random eqs and half of them arent even telling people "this is pretty meaningless to you because we have different headsets" lol everything you've said was backed by numbers! very nice video presentation - instead of restarting the computer - there are ways to restart the windows audio service using the command line - or the services control panel and you can make a shortcut to the commands net start audiosrv net stop audiosrv in a .cmd file on the properties of the shortcut - select advanced - start as administrator

I have a question: my friend and I just installed and followed this tutorial, and when we first started playing in Tarkov, it worked great. But when we went into our first raid, my friend instantly crashed within a couple minutes. He reconnected and crashed again a few minutes later, then got killed by a scav when he was reconnecting. The next raid, he and I both instantly crashed at the exact same time. We both turned off the compressor, and closed the application, (my friend uninstalled it but I didn’t), and we didn’t crash anymore. Has anyone else had issues with their Escape From Tarkov crashing after using this? And any recommendations?

how would this be setup on a dual pc setup with mixamp and goxlr? i installed it on my gaming pc. game pc > to goxlr > to mixamp i set everything in command center to 0 (this is best way to "turn off eq") and i can hear the game and the footsteps but theres a tunnel like sound, could be the under water effect mentioned below.
I had this too, in the analysis panel make sure that the "Start from" field is set to "current file". On first install, it will show as config.txt. Change that, you'll see the peaks

Just found this video, amazing stuff! I did try doing something similar myself but apparently APO is too complicated for me and I made a mess haha! Re footsteps frequency, I have watched another quite popular video and the person there exports sound clips from the game of people walking and has noted that there are some footsteps at 60-ish Hz and mainly in the range of 125-190. I was wondering if these ranges are something you might have checked yourself previously? I am going to go with all the settings in this video, but also wondering if there might be some frequencies to better amplify the footsteps - especially considering the multiple updates the game has had so far. Also, on that note, they did work on that issue (footsteps sound) and they apparently adjusted - for NPCs only, not real players!
Glad you enjoyed the video. The most difficult part about EQing for footsteps is that they cover such a wide range of the frequency spectrum. So it becomes a channel trying to decide which frequency is going to sound the best amplified. I think In the future I will release an updated version. My current settings are a high pass filter after the graphic eq with the frequency cutting off everything below 50 hz. Then my two peaking filters set to 240hz with a gain of 5 db and 700hz with a gain of 5db.
I'm using the G Pro X and I applied the parametric eq settings through peace While trying to do these I see my graph is nothing like yours It isn't neutral at all and not only peaking on 270 and 700. It's almost as if its shelfed around 3800 4000. Which it shouldn't be imo

The eq settings were very good but the compressor makes quite footsteps quieter I don't think it works on a game that already compresses footsteps together with the bass and mid range.
im not being able to use the TDR Kotelnikov in equalizer APO, everytime i try to load the plugging in the equalizer APO it got stuck, ive tried many diferent ways but nothing works, there is another audio compressor we can use or a way to fix the problem with the TDR Kotelnikov?

You have two options to try and improve this. First try decreasing the gain of the peak filter set to 270. Then try decreasing the threshold on the compressor if it’s affects are too strong for you
You should still be able to have Astro Command center running. That’s not a problem. You just need to make sure that you have all of your EQ Presets turned off or set to zero in Command Center. You don’t want it applying any effects to your signal.
@GWOK Hmm do you know why I keep hearing an echo in Warzone with your settings? Any help is much appreciated overall I can hear pretty good though minus the echo. Mostly outside when shots go off etc... this is when the echo starts. I followed the exact instructions you showed.
You can uninstall from any output source by opening the Configurator and deselecting the source. On the right is will say something like “APO will be uninstalled” and then you just have to close it and restart your computer.

And if you feel like the game sounds too compressed just decrease the threshold a bit a lower the make up gain. Good luck!

This guide is really awesome, and I can definitly tell a huge difference. Although - I do feel it squashes the rest of the sounds a bit much (feeling I can't hear directions as well, and distant gunshots are hard to distinguish). If you feel like the compression is too strong and you want to bring back a bit of the dynamic range of the audio, decrease the threshold amount and decrease the make up gain.
I followed this tutorial and I’m not sure what settings you had before but this does not sound great. I get much better sound by just using atmos on performance mode with the equalisation windows settings on.. this sounds like I am under water and very muffled
In the Astro Command Center software you need to disable any EQ or affects. You dont want to use any of their eqs or have anything effecting the signal

Try moving the vst plugin into the folder \Program Files\EqualizerAPO\VSTPlugins. that should resolve your problems

i have a pair of astro a50s - as i have astro command centre and its own custom EQ is there anyway to bypass this and only use Equaliser APO?

hmmmm I’m not sure why you would be hearing an echo. Sounds like you have your output sound doubled somewhere

great video.... this has always been a problem for me with the sound.......... should the spatial sound be disabled in the systems sound settings.........I assume yes
I have not experimented using the spatial sound setting. I would turn it off.
I have beyerdynamic dt990 250ohm with a schiit stack (dac+amp). This setup made my sound off like it’s muffled a little bit. Any chance you would know what could be causing that?
Try lowering the threshold of the compressor and adjusting the make up gain
Any fixed compressor not responding error
Try moving the vst plugin into the folder \Program Files\EqualizerAPO\VSTPlugins. that should resolve your problems

If you feel like the compression is too strong and you want to bring back a bit of the dynamic range of the audio, decrease the threshold amount and decrease the make up gain.
I followed this tutorial and I’m not sure what settings you had before but this does not sound great. I get much better sound by just using atmos on performance mode with the equalisation windows settings on.. this sounds like I am under water and very muffled

I have a Astro mixamp… how do you bypass the mixamp eq
In the Astro Command Center software you need to disable any EQ or affects. You dont want to use any of their eqs or have anything effecting the signal
