It's such bs that the spores got removed, it was 99% the threat of the infection. The fungus realizing the host can't move anymore and just making it grow to be a spore dispensor was just so cool.
Production stated audio quality issues when speaking with a mask on early into filming. I guess dubbing better audio in post' was out of the question due to time constraints or budget
The added tendrils which kind of disables and intensifies traveling through certain areas.. but instead of just getting sick it summons a mob.. better for the medium imo

They seem to be sticking to the aura of the source material quite well. But since this is yet another streaming service to "get for only one show", I'll probably wait for a Blu Ray release.
Shame is half the shows around don't bother making blurays. They know that we'd have too many patient customers that aren't as eager to get into the ecosystem, but it always begins with one good show...

Now, I haven't had a chance to watch the HBO series, but I know that they did away with the spores so that they wouldn't need the actors to wear masks. The question that I have is: what purpose do these infected serve for the cordyceps fungus by attaching to the wall this way if they don't spread spores?
During Episode 2, after Joel shoots an infected, tendrils attach to the now dead infected that are connected to the ground. Those tendrils alerted some nearby infected to the location of where Joel, Tess, and Ellie were at. I'm guessing it attached to the wall to get some roots growing for the same purpose.
@@TWDExplainedit was most definitely by design since the infection is way too different than what's in the game but It's too late now, the train already left the station, even dead space infection is significantly more easily understood than whatever the hell they're doing
Given the threat of global warming,is it possible for Cordyceps to adapt to our body temperature and turn us into zombies the same way it does to insects?
Global warming is bullshit. It’s a ruse by the elites to gain further control over our lives. Period. All the people pushing that nonsense own multiple beach front homes. So yeah. Bullshit.
The problem with cordyceps and similar fungus is that they are VERY effective with a very specific sets of ants and only thoses ants. If it can't jump from one ant's specie to another it is very unlikely that it could jump from ants to human.
Possible but A: it would take a very very long time (we’re talking probably thousands to millions of years) for such an adaptation to happen (if it ever does) and B: it would probably behave very differently from this.

That scream would just attract more zombies! Clear the room before going in.

Being scared of an infected corpse on a wall in the dark sounds realistic though

When they're growing to walls.like that in the game, dont they put out spores? Is that not a thing in the show?
it is not a thing in the show (S1) - but the show runner hinted we might see spores in S2

Theres no spores in the show, they just produce mycelium tendrils instead like an alarm network
