+Garen Yosoulkanian Timket is ethiopian epiphany, the day Jesus Christ was baptized. Every ethiopian church has a replica of the Ark of the covenant (Tabot in ethiopic) it is what consecrates a church, and to symbolize Christ going to the Jordan river from his home, every year on the eve of TImket the Tabot of all the churches in a given area meet at river and spend the night in a tent to celebrate and at the end be baptized in the water. Here in america that is not possible so the Tabots of all the surrounding churches met at St. Michael's to celebrate the holiday and at the end of this video you will see a pool of water that stands for the river.
