Hi, I hope you got something out of the video; I enjoyed making it, unfortunately I had to finish in a hurry as I'm leaving for Woodbourne base in a few hours, thanks for watching.
Thank you for a very interesting and informative video. I have just subscribed, I am a kiwi who lives in Australia, I am in my seventies and know very little about the armed forces. However, it worries me that New Zealand has very little equipment and personnel these days and my uninformed opinion is that the armed forces should be increased considerably, this comment also includes Australia. Well done on making an excellent video, the comments were very well written and helpful as well. All the best from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
100% right! At the end of WWII the RNZAF had over 400 F4U Corsairs. Then after a steady decline over decades Helen Clark got rid of the Skyhawks. All of NZ's armed services have been whittled down - very similar to what has happened to the UK armed services.
NOTE: I may remake this video to include changes forecasted for the coming years, I also somehow failed to include the Polariz MZR army vehicle. A note to the armoured vehicles section, NZ does operate an armoured variant of the Pinzgauer.
Keep the good work NZ, and don't mind the haters. Everyone pulls their weight and you're doing fine. In real combat all man, all equipment are a need to the last. Urrah!
More like sit tight and pray Australia comes to save you. When you have no fighters and only 2 warships what are you thinking that "to the last" is going to be?
It's just a big and a primary mistake to underrate underdogs. Since WWII that underdogs have been playing major roles, again punching much above their weight as expected. But hey, believe in whatever you want, I really don't care.
@Maddog-xc2zv More like you're detached from reality. There's a big difference between being an underdog and putting all your hopes on the neighbors to protect you. It also tells me you don't know much about WW2 since the axis were at a massive resource, manufacturing and population disadvantage. But hey you keep trying coast on the 1940s in your fantasy land son.
What the effe do you know about me? One: I'm not your son and I would despise being it. You're an entitled brat. The axis were comprised of three main powers, Japan, Germany and Italy, joined by five other nations: Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, and Croatia. so 5 underdogs you probably even didn't know fought alongside the 3 main axis powers during WWII. Italy was a crap in both equipment (a great deal of it) and military management (thanks to Il Duce) and turned to the allied side by October 1943 (hope it's not again a surprise to you once more). They had a lot of resources and menpower. If not the US and the UK with lend leases to the USSR they would have lost St. Petersburg/Stalingrad due to lack of food, ammo, equipment, and not because of man power and sheer numbers as you blantly put it without a glintch of reality framing. Japan was already since the 30's in war in the Pacific and other Asian territories, mainly China - Hope you also knew about that and the raw material they explored outside the metropolis where as Germany they had a brutal and highly tech Industry (some still exist to this day). Again, chinese man power without tools gave them nothing but defeats, but I'm sure you know that. Australia and Canada were the more relevant underdogs of all WWII, with Canadians even storming a beach during D-Day. I hope you humble yourself and inform yourself too before writing nonsense. Poland in it's own way was also very relevant, as they were the best RAF pilots and destroyed what were said to be much more advanced German ME fighters. Dude, go to school again and relearn history as you only ashame yourself in public. Never judge a person before you get to know a bit about her, but again your entitlement was stronger than your neurons. Nobody lives alone in a gloabalized world, not even North Korea. Grow up, stop being a kid and grow to be a man. Go watch some videos about the dunning-krueger effect: you have no competence (the "fantasy" you call out but in scientific words), based on their paper, to speak about you think you know but you are only able to scratch the surface. Namaste.

Good afternoon mate thst wzs a truly excellent video of the NZDF, nice to see some updated machines coming onboard, it will be good to see the new C130j's when they arrive, it would have been great to see some F-16's but that was stopped by a earlier Labour government, but they di get the LAV 3, and they have got the new army rifles, do you only do defence videos? I would be interestec in watching more, best regards from a ex ChCh lad now living in Melbourne, Les
And that might turn out to be a power failure, similar to the power failures on the Cook Strait ferries. This is what happens when you buy ships from owners who realize their ship is nearing end of life.
Hi, yeah I probably should have been more clear with that, though I did put it in the description. It's just that the first of our C-130J's are already doing trial flights in RNZAF livery and are due to arrive later this year, because of this I made the decision to put down C130J so that the video may stay UpToDate once the aircraft arrive. Unfortunately at the time when I posted the video no footage of our new C130J's had been released yet, so I was forced to use C130H footage. I hope this clears up any confusion, I'm considering doing a better remake of this video towards the end of the year.
Hi, yeah it is a bit of a shame, both vehicles (especially the unimog) are old and there is not much footage of them in NZDF configuration online, I could have found better footage after more searching but I was under a short time constraint during the making of the video. The models are wrong, but of a reatively similiar make at least, especially the unimog. Thanks.
I think people should wait for the outcome of the inquiry. If the cause turns out to be a power failure it's a similar situation to the Cook Strait ferries losing power..
@@brentsummers7377 this ship, is built with redundancy in mind, usually it has back up, if one engine fail, you have another engine (dual engine) ship of this kind, has 2 or 4 more engine generator, plus batterries, if its a combine battery and engine, plus lots of switches,,, so power failure, is just an alibi, now,, the satillite photo of this ship,, tells that the ship from miles away,,, run straigth to the reef,, thats miles away,, looks like they dont know there is a reef, its a Survey ship,, is it not? Now they know there is a reef there, probably they can put it on the map now. The thing is.. this woman captain doent know what she is doing. To loose a ship on hef first command,, i doubt it they will gave her a canoue to command.

Excellent job on the video!
Thank you for letting me watch xx All in my thoughts and prayers .

Great video except the Navy was a bit rushed. Would've liked to have seen more especially the frigates.
Not much equipment, no reL airforce and small navy but Kiwis are and have always been brilliant and loyal fighters.
No fighters a handful of ships that don't leave the dock to save money.
Too much reliance on the power of dancing.
Keep the good work NZ, and don't mind the haters. Everyone pulls their weight and you're doing fine. In real combat all man, all equipment are a need to the last. Urrah!

There are cities in this world that have police departments that would defeat the NZ army, assuming the conflict was in an urban area.

Now less one Survey ship...own goal
And that might turn out to be a power failure, similar to the power failures on the Cook Strait ferries. This is what happens when you buy ships from owners who realize their ship is nearing end of life.
Those Unimogs must be about 40 years old now.
Please update the Hercules footage?
There are no c130j's yet in service. They're coming, but your video says 5 in service

This actually not bad for a small millitary.. just need fighter jets for support
You showed models of pinzgauer and unimogs NZ does not have🤨 just abit weird considering you have actual footage of all that other NZ equipment🤷♂️

@@upholst no worries👍
What about the HMNZS Wellington
not much meat on the bone
Need to triple military spending and shut down the welfare state. The world is a dangerous place your Isolation will not protect you much longer.
one ship turn to submarine,, thanks to a woman captain,, wasting 147million ship
