Im a INFJ and Im just learning about the cognitive functions and you really described my ENFP husband. He passed away on June/2023. He was the most intelligent, hard working and generous person I’ve ever met. He had deep strong connections with his friends and we’ll know on for his unique sense of humor. He was whether loved or hated . Nothing in the middle . As an INFJ, I unknowingly played my role of calling him out publicly to control his Se Demon. We were a great team as he used to called us. I miss him so much. Thank you for your video, I can attest to everything you said in the video ❤

    My notes:
    - Charity (giving small things/presents) enables all transitions
    - _Responsibility-Ne_ : focus on what matters (and not on trivial things/info)
    - _Certainty-Ni_ : Contemplate opportunities in solitude
    - _Faith-Si_ : Developing good habits: reading nonfiction; Doing hard work and try & error (and no searching for talent): outcompeting everyone & being out of my comfort zone
    - _Love-Se_ : being grateful for reality; strengthening/healing people; every goal will be possible when focusing on charity (enable massive societal change through vision)

I’m an ENTJ (INTJs cousin we have the exact same functions just different order) who dated an ENFP for a very long time and have had many ENFP friends. I will say you guys are EXTREMELY likeable. I have Ni as my second function so I love your intuitive nature. You guys have good ideas too and it’s very fun to go on these abstract mental adventures with you guys. I do have some constructive criticism to give, (assuming you’re an ENFP) so maybe you can work on this. As a dominant Te user, logic is my way of life (same with INTJs btw). My problem with the ENFP is it’s not possible to reason with logic. You guys just don’t respond to it no matter how hard I try to break it down. You guys will just do whatever the hell you feel like doing, and then you find yourself at 35 years old and still having done nothing with your lives (sorry if that’s a rude wake up call). The problem is you don’t listen to peoples advice no matter how much sense it makes. You’re more concerned with having fun and socializing that you avoid taking on any responsibility or boring tasks that bring you closer to your goals. Fortunately you’re very likable so you can pretty much just get other people to help you with the hard stuff, but how far can you really go if you never feel like taking on the workload? Of course it’s uncomfortable working on the process and I understand that being a low Se user definitely doesn’t make it easier for you, but you NEED to focus and work on that. Your functions are like a muscle and they will become stronger the more you use them. There’s much more to life then just shooting the shit with your friends and wasting all your time accomplishing nothing. Pick out a ONE goal, and work on it RELENTLESSLY. I know you guys have a new goal every week but really try to pick the most important one (buying a house, building a business, finishing school, learning a language, starting a TH-cam channel, etc). Quit chasing after fun all the time and go accomplish at least one thing and I promise you will feel so proud of yourself. You can start with working 10 minutes a day on your goal and slowly work your way up. The key is to be CONSISTENT and to do it every. Single. Day. With no excuses like oh I’m hungover, or oh I have to go to a party soon, or oh I actually my dog needs a bath. Just focus on your goal, and work until you’ve reached it. Quit fucking around.

Can I ask what you define as logic? Because it's actually very interesting topic of discussion... Do you feel that additional perspective and abstract correlation isn't refining our logic? I think you would be very surprised how logical our minds are actually! Closing your mind to a couple paths and limiting your perspective to conform doesn't make you more logical.... It's more like we don't accept anything as absolute. We don't explore possibilities for unlogical and fun. Like people tend to think. We are correlators and branching outside of the normal is actually to find a deeper understanding! I think if you spent a little more time reflecting on your own logic you may realize logical is like normal and what's normal? Is it everything your fed or what you choose to eat?

I am definitely intrigued to continue listening to your content because of your straightforward approach to highlighting where type personalities can get hung up. Some very useful information regarding how ENFP need to develop discipline, work hard and focus on one thing at a time and complete it. I do disagree with the fact that ENFP are talentless. Every type has talent, but I took it to mean, quit assuming that ENFP are going to get by on that alone, because we are not - we have to work for what we want. I also think ENFP, because they can get into people's psyche very easily, can be very good at typing others. I am NOT into the advice of shaming an ENFP in public - that actually is horrible advice and boarders on abusive. This actually is very damaging to ENFP (or anyone) as we do tend to get bullied and not because people are "calling us out", but because they see our charity as weak. It works just as well if someone (we trust) provides the feedback in private. I sense you have not met many mature ENFP.

The end really resonated with me so much. I am talentless but do benefit the most from hard work. I was working really hard in my economics class early in the year, so much so that my teacher called me a genius. Then I let it get to my head and just think the stuff came naturally to me. My grades subsequently dropped. I just can't seem to trust in that Si inferior and adopt good habits. I hate to suck at something and have to work hard to get better, but, when I do get everything going great, I don't seem to value that enough to keep it going. I hate reality when I am losing and love it when I am winning, but I just have to accept it for what it is. And I do worry excessively about my future too; I can't even pick a major because I think it limits all the other possibilities. I'm starting to buy into this MBTI stuff, even though it's something I still don't understand.

  • @carlurbananimals

As an ISTJ (ENFP focused) I worked out that some people (Ti users) try to embarrass people into doing the opposite of what they say, so then i do DO directly what they say to me (to trick them back), for example if a Ti user says to me "you're too lazy to achieve that" i actually be lazy and be like "yes, you're right about that i will just chill out then (whilst thinking...why dont you just tell me what you think i should do?)", but now i am an adult i think i should act like ti users are actually tricking me into doing something, so in future when Ti users give me the "you're to lazy to achieve that" i will still think what i previously thought, but i will stop being lazy because i know that's more along the lines of what they mean, I've also noticed Ti users don't like being micro managed, so maybe they like being challenged like that, so i will just go along with their embarrassment thing and let them think im falling for that trick, even though that trick hasn't worked on me since I was in 2nd grade. Thanks for helping me develop this perspective Chase!

Oh my God you're so right I read/watch/consume/engage in so much and I remember times which I was reading something usefull like when I was learning music and growing my knowledge on it but on the contrary I have spent so much time learning stuff that I don't know I'll even use or not. You name it I've engaged in it in some shape or form and this mbti stuff was just another one of em random ass engagements of mine which somehow is paying off which is kind of funny cuz my whole plan was if I extend my self wide enough and take a shovel to every land I have to strike gold some day and yh these are one of those days. Focused and meaningful engagement from now on at least half the time. I can consume some porn and jokes and cartoons yet I'm not a robot but not most of the time God you are so right. I remember sometime I was just into health and business and self care and social stuff and money and... I was shining. Literally. People told me bro your skin your face is shining what the fuck are you doing to look this way. So there goes about the subconscious I have to go back to be focused with my engagement.
I have the 3 out of the way I just need some explanation on the unconcious infj/ni

ENFP’s like any other type go through phases from what I’ve noticed in people we switch at major biological changes in the brain after neuronal pruning 7-11 after hormonal maturity 17-21 after the pre frontal cortex develops fully 25-30 the ENFP has these phases: INFP’s ENFJ’s ESFP’s or ENTP’s. But they often will say I feel like an INFP because they are the least extroverted of the extroverts in terms of total time to recharge that’s because they burn themselves out with their parental Fi. But watch carefully these subtypes are very real. I’ve analyzed many people and we all have them they’re very reliable for explaining the variance across different narratives of people of the same type

I wouldn't say public shaming is healthy- it can damage a reputation as people cannot unsee what they have seen, which the enfp is aware of. I think I could actually be very discouraging and personally would cause me to spiral. Give them something to strive for or publicly praise them for their achievements.
Just because something 'works' doesn't make it healthy.

10:45 "INTJ vs ENFP, who's faster?" maybe ENFP is faster in the beginning while INTJ is faster towards the end. Being INTJ myself, I notice that I need lots of time in the beginning to understand how things work (during which I'm slow in actually making work progress). When it finally clicks, I know the perfect optimal way to achieve maximal performance, and then nobody will outperform me.

I want to say thank you Joseph and tell you something about the Islamic regime.
As Muslims, we believe that Islam is a system of life and it is a revelation from God and not from the invention of the Prophet Muhammad, and it is a system for all people from God “the Creator” in order to live happily in this life. As for Muhammad, he is a human being and a messenger, so that people can learn from him practically and be an example and a leader for them (it is the practical application of the theory).
Aisha when she got married was a very young woman (but she is called a child at this time). So this is not a shame at all.

Did my ESTP superego caused me to end up being misjudged as ISFP in your element/weapon test? Reminds me of back then 5 years ago, my friends initially thought I was ENTJ when I was trying to compensate.

Self identified ENFP: Being continuously publically shamed by my teachers in middle school destroyed my childhood and left me with deep mental scars which inhibit many parts of my life to this day.
These people were not helping anyone least of all me.
They were bullies motivated by factors beyond my control.
It feels like the subject of shame as a tool for social engineering requires more caveats than you've supplied here given its potential for abuse.
Enjoy your content, my two cents.

    Sorry serious question.
How do you know if you shouldn't just keep on going the same direction while reading the functions for parts of the mind
    For example enfp
    Ne Fi : ENFP ego
    Te Si : ESTJ subconscious
    Ni Fe : INFJ unconcious
Ti Se : ISTP super ego
    why is this not right?
I have one guess which wouldn't totally answer it but maybe Te Si is the Child persona and Ti Se is the trickster persona. (But you can ignore this part of the message since it is something that I have near to zero clue about

Thank you for all the knowledge you’re spreading!
I’m confused about something, I’m still not sure what type I am, I’m not even sure about my extravert/introvert nature anymore..! 😆 😅 all the tests type me as INFP, yours is balancing between INFP and INTP and based on what I’m learning from your video about the functions, I’m starting to wonder if I’m not an ENFP…!
And where I lose all certainty is around the WHY I do things more than the what or how…
For instance here, you’re saying ENFPs are all about the process rather than the outcome and they try and try and try and enjoy the journey more than the goal. Which is 100% the story of my life. BUT the reason WHY I’m trying (and study DEEPLY every attempt…) is because I enjoy more having satisfaction right away and getting to to the right outcome the first time around… this is the plan… just that in order to reach my goal I need to step outside roll up my sleeves and try one of the many options I studied… but picking one is a pain for me, I’d like to try them all simultaneously (maybe one day with quantum physics we’ll get to travel through parallel dimensions 🤞🏻 haha) but NATURALLY I don’t really enjoy paddling in the dark… what I want in the first place is to reach the outcome I wanted…
But as a result my life looks like a chain of attempts after attempts after attempts so it may look like ENFP who enjoys the process, but I think it’s more an INFP struggling..!! 😅

I interesting. I think you just articulated exactly what I was feeling. I'm on similar journey... For too long now it's frustrating. I started out enfp, istp isfp infp isfp now finally I'm enfp.

    • @kinolgum
      @kinolgum 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@natashacovich477 omg balancing with INTP too!! Haha I think we should be the same type in the end, we should meet up!! Haha
Yeah I eventually ended up as an extrovert because I do need a lot of time alone and I enjoy it very much (the lock down in my tiny parisian apartment was surprisingly (even for myself!) the best time of my life!) but when I think about it and the reasons why I enjoy solitude that much is because its the way I feel connected with people. Like I can think quietly About how I could be of service and during the lock down I was posting a lot on instagram, to help people meditate and I started a blog to help people with addictions etc. So my solitude is not necessarily tinted with egocentrism but rather a twisted way to connect with my human fellows..!
Which I love! I love studying people, watching them live, I think people are fascinating… (which is also a trait that makes hard for me to choose ONE partner because I’d want to share a lifetime with all of them..! Haha) 😅

Hey C.S. I have been typed by OPS as an ENFP Ne/Te jumper. There are so many things that ring true based on your analysis. The thing I find different is I really care about what's actually true. However, I do understand that our society as a whole has determined truth to be subjective which is self-refuting because that is literally the opposite of truth. Te wants consistency on the spectrum of truth. The most "Accurate truth" should "rise to the top." Well that doesn't seem to be true either. In the context of truth I hate being a jumper ENFP. I wish I had Ti so I didn't think of the spectrum of truth so highly. Or that I was Ni/Te so I didn't have to look at the spectrum of ideas so far out. I probably just need to develop my Fi but Fi is so selfish and I struggle to do it. I feel like I become very self centered when I lean into my Fi too much.

  • @shanknasty
    @shanknasty ปีที่แล้ว

You could not be more wrong about ENFP's treating truth as subjective!! I am VERY objective when it comes to facts. I wish you had given an example so I could follow up with a more accurate response.

Ohhh, my dad is an ENTP who brought up two ENFP girls. He was our hero when we were young but then the teen years hit... yeah you're in for a world of pain, lol. We fought, we tested, we bucked and acted out. We even reduced him to tears a couple of times. I remember getting called out many times for being selfish and manipulative and all it did, really, was help refine the process lol. I could literally get away with framing someone for murder now. Fortunately, however, he also he helped instil in me a keen set of morals and a firm sense of right and wrong. Those morals would kick my but so hard if I decided to use my gift for evil... well... too much evil.

I’ve never been innately good at anything, but I’ve always gotten better at tings far faster then everyone else. Like from below average to way above average before other people even get competent. It makes learning things rather addicting but incredibly frustrating if i haveto try more then the last time.

This may be a loaded question. However, how do you deal with a "well-intentioned", yet moderately "depraved" ENFP as a coworker or business partner? Are multiple people telling him/her the truth about his/her actions in a meeting the same as public shaming?

I think ENFP believers they are great people and they intend to be kind. However, their actions translate a little differently. It’s okay to consider the truth and then modify it to your specific circumstances. You can be kind, but have selfish tendencies... That has been a reoccurring experience with many people who have come across ENFPs.
It’s lectures like these to help the ENFP maintain the balance between their kindness and their self-serving tendencies.

By the way it's not really considered charity according to your own definition that charity is little but numerous while generosity is a lot but one time , zakah is a specefic amount of money that has a specefic equation that I don't remember and only people with an amount of money above a specific level calculated in relation to gold or silver pay it , so people below that don't have to pay anything and rich people pay a HUGE amount of money , and that is done only one time a year . So it's not charity particularly , but we are still advised to give little amounts whenever we can but it's not really an order .

As an ENFP, this is spot on. I watched you type Jeffree Star as an ENFP and almost everything you've said here applies to him. Just a curious idea: Is the philosopher quadra super affiliative and rule creating/abiding in order to avoid their Fi depravity? "We are all selfish and depraved, however we don't have a sense of reality or what we individually want, so let's create rules and systems where everyone has to depend on each other"

ENFPs are intensely aware of our own values and would find it felt very bad to work as a snake oil salesperson. Yes we could sell it, but it would make us feel extremely bad and inauthentic to do so.
