Hey man can you clear something up? In the gameplay trailer at 2:06 when she used her tactical she placed it good distance above her and immediately after she placed it pulled her up and over into the portal. There was a whole animation and visual effect for it but im not seeing that in any gameplay… is it not actually something that can happen???
Alter future patch: - Tactical is now a minute cooldown - Tactical can’t be taken more than once - Gun is holstered for even longer after using tactical - Ult is now visible to everyone in the game - Ult now takes 10 seconds to take back - Ult now only works if you are 100 meters away - Teammates can’t use ult
Thanks Captain Obvious. No crap she’s going to get nerfed. Like everything else that’s new. It’s not balanced. It’s only an idea and they have to test it and see how it works with everything while also purposefully making it strong so it gets people to want to purchase the character. So THEY (EA) can get paid. It’s simple really and it’s the same for everything else.
She's not even that good the only thing I seem is decent was the tac because u can be creative but has the same bad things from qrait portal as then can follow or use it anytime so if ur in a fight it could put u at a disadvantage or just be useless
It is literally Ash's ult. The original version of her ult before she was released was the ability to portal through walls and is probably why it has that garbage lock on mechanic they refuse to get rid of
This is what I fear. There’s about to be a whole bunch of void nexus ash, wraith, alter, maggie-caustic- catalyst ulting bullshit as soon as they come out the other side of alter’s tactical and they get away for FREE. We should be able to shoot that tactical to eliminate it and there definitely better be a delay on coming through the portal because I don’t see a good enough counter for this shit….
However this is the perfect character to handle getting 3rd partying or you could use it to be on the offense to 3rd party. This character single handedly and simultaneously solves 3rd partying but breaks every other aspect of this game lol. The cons of her being op far outweighs the cons (as usual) and we knew that.. we’re going to have to adapt and do what we can for the next 60 days
@@maybejustafew1031build a stout triangular watson fence and caustic trap around the portal. Taking into account the quick shifting time, you can snare an opponent with the right placement of a Watson fence, and the rear “leg” of the triangle is to punish before she re-enters. I’m sure Lamic will find a way to counter Alter pretty soon. The caustic gas further slows and disorients the opponent. Also you can shoot cluster nades at the portal with fuze for free damage/area denial. You can thermite it, you could shoot a maggie drill right at it or near it, or on to a wall perpendicular to it. There’s tons of creative ways to counter an Alter portal. And the infinite loop scenario I imagine would be incredibly rare to even get to work, as well as the fact that it’d only be viable to stall the opponent since you can’t shoot them either, good luck setting it up in time to leverage a reset against an injured opponent
And then the noobs online still have the nerve to say “Ash has her niche she’s fine, Alter doesn’t affect Ash” meanwhile Ash’s two uses were getting into buildings and taking high grounds and Alter can do both 😭😭😭

I disagree. I believe I have a valid counter argument to this. I’m a Wraith main but my secondary is Ash, I used to have similar sentiments when I started using her when I compared her to wraith such as “Why does Ash have a phase/portal hybrid ult when Wraith already does that”. But answer was simple the more I played, and it relates to Alter as well. If me and my team are trapped and need to get from point A to B within seconds, there is no better ability than Phase Tear. Wraith portal is more methodical and versatile when covering long distances. And just like Wraith, Alter can only do ult repositioning if she herself is separated from her team. Alter tactical has amazing potential but is more position oriented. Ash ult can be used on the fly with minimal barriers. All three void users have their purpose to me. Ash is a great offensive asset to create pressure, Wraith is the most evasive and has the smallest frame, and Alter is a breacher who can make a strong push to finish fights.
I am frankly shocked by the possibilities she will offer. Also that ult range made my jaw drop. There's no way that they'll keep it that way for a long time. Once the nerfs hit I'll probably find a way to play her from time to time regardless.
I came up with a legend like this that I submitted to respawn so I’m pretty excited so see something similar even if it’s not from my idea. I think I might actually have a true main.
With the vertical you could also have your teammates already on a roof, bait a push taking a little damage, they follow you up for the kill not realizing your whole team is up there to gank them
So, Have a wattson at the nexus with fences and revive have 2 other legends push the enemy, doesnt matter if they get knocked they can go back and get a revive, its a more manual rev ult :p
Imagine if all the legends were overpowered? The game would be so much fun and energized. But unfortunately streamers are such cry babies, they made Apex a watered down version of what it could have been.
Right off the bat, two minutes in, it’s not only stepping on loba toes but ash as well! As she will also know where deathboxes are and have a similar heads up to where action is happening
breaching a wall while someone was holding a door was one of the very first things i learned, alongside seeing deathboxes and how crazy the distance is being able to get in. instantly changed from loba to main her
If you observe the death logs, you can possibly determine the enemies weapons and location, all with alter's passive. The downside is you would need a visual of the death box (So you can see yhe player's name) and its hard to keep track with death logs
I don’t mind the passive “stepping on” loba. She could only get 1 item vs loba allows everyone to get as many ammo as they want and 2 items. Loba also has access a large area and it doesn’t restrict to just a death box.
I definitely see her as a breaching meta. Her alt paid with a lifeline would allow her and another teammate to breach a door or just go out and get kills. But if they get knocked they just portal back for the quick revive. Her, Watson/caustic(even though he got patched again!!) and lifeline could make for some nasty work. You'd think you have two knocked and portal in to small room with traps and grenades

From the changes I read about the legends perks, guns updates and also abilities from current legends. I believe it balanced the game so much (finally) where a lot of comps can be viable now. For example, for the defensive comps like (watson, castle, hound), with the new legend abilities (and even now) you may not be safe inside a building as you think. Also, makes another legend step up, bc of abilities to counter another abilities. I like this, almost every legend will be if not all playable competitive (rank and tournaments). Personally we just need a touch in rank settings (no splits, makes all of your efforts to rank up to be wash away, you have to grind again what you did, mas no sense to me) and the points system for me needs an adjustment not a big one, make it as close as tournament close as possible. What I mean is, for top 5 teams should be rewarded more points even with 1 team kill (1 or 2 assists for example). With this, ranked will be more close to a rank game, where everyone wants to rank up and for that you need good placement and if you have some assists only or kill is ok. With this also people will not just drop immediately (like in a normal game). Although the drop will be removed (IDK if it is this Season or just in tournaments). The rest of it is pretty awesome! :D (Just fix servers overall, get better ones :) )
Nexus should definitely be placed around doors it seems like. I did not know that it creates a portal for the enemy to follow you. The Nexus will definitely be used when you are low or in a bad position, so having a door to hide behind for at least a battery will be huge. Otherwise, they could ape you by following you who is presumably low and just murder you dead.
All the movement guys and highly mechanical mnk players are gonna have a field day with this legend. This is the first time in a long I've been excited for a new legend
😂 Pretty much. I mean I could be wrong but being able to take one thing from a deathbox is meh, the tactical is mostly a run away ability and the ultimate IS a run away ability. That doesn't really help you win fights (and it gives your enemies time to heal) That's why conduit was/is so strong... She helps you win fights, not run away from them. However if you're going up against a controller team like one based against Watson you've basically made her fences useless which is nice.
Some basic found lore i think may be part of her story line. The fact Catalysts friends were talking about how "Olympus" fell onto broken moon even though everyone else was on The actual Olympus which means Alter isn't from a different world unlike the others, insteas she comes from an opposite Reality where most people are the opposite because if you have the season battlepass, you can see the emotes where they get sucked in and teleported out as a different person, which means theres a possibility That theres a world in this reality where alter does something else other than phasing through walls :D
I've been a Bangalore Maine for a while,but if Alter comes out like this being this good I might have to switch because Bangalore doesn't do enough right now except for maybe blocking off site or bang ulting but they did do a Nerf to digi's so with that being said you have to pick up a shotgun or secondary that can see through the smoke
i can't be the only one having some crazy ideas with her ult....... cuz an aggressive squad with this is literally a menace.....also with this ALGS can now have the option to push a squad cuz they know they can always get back to their position
Alter with caustic or wattson is finna be insane. If enemy teams try to push through her ult for a chase they would run into gas or fences ready to slow them down as soon as they arrive.

The point of language is to communicate ideas and concepts, you understood him so he succeeded In short he wants you to get his genitalia out of his mouth, which is to say that he wants you to stop being a stickler about what he says or does.
From an offensive perspective, Alter’s ultimate ability is far better than what people think. You get the benefit of pushing with full health unlike rev totem and being able to reset from any point unlike when you use wraiths portal offensively. Yes you run the risk of getting knocked, and yes the ultimate takes time to activate. But how is that any different than using a battery in a normal push. You now have a failsafe against the team you’re pushing and as a bonus against third parties The positioning of the ult is what’s going to dictate what it’s better for. If there’s a decent chance you won’t be immediately third partied, then place it from a position where you will be able to quickly reset and anchor. If there’s multiple teams around and you want to push anyways then you place it as if it was a rev totem In all other aspects the ult is lackluster, but I would argue that this is the first skirmisher that provides an ability that the entire team can use reliably for fighting since you are essentially able to reset instead of getting knocked. All other skirmishers really only help you reposition or run
I like how this legend is only SUPER strong if you know how to play her well. Seer was busted because with two buttons(tac,and alt) you can put the enemies at such a disadvantage with near zero effort. Alter has a low skill floor because her abilities are pretty simple and straight forward and provide big benefit to her an her team, but they have downsides, and counters of their own. Also the skill CEILING is quite high, meaning she has so much potential and it relies on the PLAYER to be creative, and make the situational determination on when and how to use her abilities and rewards creative thinking. The only nerf I can see being warranted is a cool down on her passive because you can snag teammates so much ammo/so many heals just by rolling up to a massacre that just ended.
Imagine playing her in contrast with the new cat ability to rebuild doors. Barricade doors and then u can just come out the sides of buildings to push a team trying to break the doors
She looks very strong but it's far from being op in my opinion. The q is the strongest part of her kit no doubt but is a double edge sword so it really depends on the skills of the player, and that's also good. The weirdest thing to me is the vertical q on horizontal surfaces. I have a strong feeling that is going to be removed entirely, looks too easy to abuse. Passive and ultimate are fine, a selfish loba market and an improved death totem(both good but nothing special). It all comes down to your mind games and positioning, two things that luckily enough required skills. I can already see players get bored of her just because they can't use her effectively.
She’s good but not broken or annoying . So i hope they don’t nerf her to much maybe some little nerfs will be fine but she is definitely not day 1 seer or horizon lmao

Rev and conduit are still annoying to fight against so I don’t think she will get nerfed heavily when they do decide to. Her whole look lore and personality is enough for me to main her if I’m honest 😅. Only reason why I stayed with wraith for so long was because I love her vibe and quips.
Loba is completely different when it comes to gift from the rift, bc alter can only take 1 item out of deathboxes only, loba's ult allows her 3 items out of anything including deathboxes in a bigger radius, its not even close to the same so its not gonna be as broken as ppl think unless there is a shit ton of deathboxes
Imagine being in a room you here some new sound and next minute your rooms on fire a Maggie balls bouncing around and knuckle clusters and nades start going off hahaha
Guys I say take a step back and just enjoy Alter. Remember when Ballistic and Vantage were being teased and everyone was saying they were gonna be broken. I'll have it that Alter is opening up new dimensions to play with (no pun intended) and change the meta. However give it a few weeks, maybe a month to see where she sits in the "meta". No need to cry broken or OP before she has even dropped. Just enjoy the new changes, new legend etc, and if they nerf her they nerf her. If they don't touch her, learn to counter and adapt to the new legend and improve yourself around it. Edit: also just remember wrath would work great with her, horizon can heal and shoot in her tactical. There is obviously gonna be audio cues for her tactical. Don't judge before she is dropped. People are usually afraid of the new norms
I agree with your statement about not overestimating her abilities but her kit is 100% team oriented. Even her passive being able to get 1 thing per death box from a distance is basically a support role. Plus her tact can be used for her and her teammates to avoid danger or to go inside of a building where you are not forced to look for an entrance inside. And the ult can even safely bring teammates back even if they are downed. She actually does more than wraith if we are being honest here.

The upside to wraiths ult is it lasts so much longer and wraiths tac gives her invulnerability as well as movement buff whilst in it. I agree it is a fresh new spin. The one thing that always bugs me is once she is released every TH-camr will be click baiting the he'll out of it saying new legend is broken just like they do with every other legend haha. 100% believe she will be strong but unlike Seer/ Valk/ Horizon, I can't see her being a "Meta Defining" legend as such.

I think everyone's eyes are on the new legend, and the insane buff to Newcastle and Catalyst are going to be overlooked. Giving Newcastle the passive effect from Wattsons ult is excessive imo and not fair to Wattson players
They should honestly make another healer with plants as an ability and they can heal with the plants they could also use vines to defend doors and maybe flower powder to blind?

The tac making a rope going from the ceiling to the floor seems a bit op. It’s literally a better ash ult/ horizon tac in one ability.

To be fair, death totem was even more powerful for a long time - a free push and a free escape from death. Her ultimate is *just* a free return.

Personally we just need a touch in rank settings (no splits, makes all of your efforts to rank up to be wash away, you have to grind again what you did, mas no sense to me) and the points system for me needs an adjustment not a big one, make it as close as tournament close as possible.
What I mean is, for top 5 teams should be rewarded more points even with 1 team kill (1 or 2 assists for example). With this, ranked will be more close to a rank game, where everyone wants to rank up and for that you need good placement and if you have some assists only or kill is ok.
With this also people will not just drop immediately (like in a normal game). Although the drop will be removed (IDK if it is this Season or just in tournaments).
The rest of it is pretty awesome! :D (Just fix servers overall, get better ones :) )
Nexus should definitely be placed around doors it seems like. I did not know that it creates a portal for the enemy to follow you. The Nexus will definitely be used when you are low or in a bad position, so having a door to hide behind for at least a battery will be huge. Otherwise, they could ape you by following you who is presumably low and just murder you dead.
Assuming you do not have a defensive legend of course.

😂 Pretty much. I mean I could be wrong but being able to take one thing from a deathbox is meh, the tactical is mostly a run away ability and the ultimate IS a run away ability. That doesn't really help you win fights (and it gives your enemies time to heal) That's why conduit was/is so strong... She helps you win fights, not run away from them.
However if you're going up against a controller team like one based against Watson you've basically made her fences useless which is nice.
Some basic found lore i think may be part of her story line. The fact Catalysts friends were talking about how "Olympus" fell onto broken moon even though everyone else was on The actual Olympus which means Alter isn't from a different world unlike the others, insteas she comes from an opposite Reality where most people are the opposite because if you have the season battlepass, you can see the emotes where they get sucked in and teleported out as a different person, which means theres a possibility That theres a world in this reality where alter does something else other than phasing through walls :D
I've been a Bangalore Maine for a while,but if Alter comes out like this being this good I might have to switch because Bangalore doesn't do enough right now except for maybe blocking off site or bang ulting but they did do a Nerf to digi's so with that being said you have to pick up a shotgun or secondary that can see through the smoke

Alter with caustic or wattson is finna be insane. If enemy teams try to push through her ult for a chase they would run into gas or fences ready to slow them down as soon as they arrive.

From an offensive perspective, Alter’s ultimate ability is far better than what people think. You get the benefit of pushing with full health unlike rev totem and being able to reset from any point unlike when you use wraiths portal offensively. Yes you run the risk of getting knocked, and yes the ultimate takes time to activate. But how is that any different than using a battery in a normal push. You now have a failsafe against the team you’re pushing and as a bonus against third parties
The positioning of the ult is what’s going to dictate what it’s better for. If there’s a decent chance you won’t be immediately third partied, then place it from a position where you will be able to quickly reset and anchor. If there’s multiple teams around and you want to push anyways then you place it as if it was a rev totem
In all other aspects the ult is lackluster, but I would argue that this is the first skirmisher that provides an ability that the entire team can use reliably for fighting since you are essentially able to reset instead of getting knocked. All other skirmishers really only help you reposition or run

I like how this legend is only SUPER strong if you know how to play her well. Seer was busted because with two buttons(tac,and alt) you can put the enemies at such a disadvantage with near zero effort. Alter has a low skill floor because her abilities are pretty simple and straight forward and provide big benefit to her an her team, but they have downsides, and counters of their own. Also the skill CEILING is quite high, meaning she has so much potential and it relies on the PLAYER to be creative, and make the situational determination on when and how to use her abilities and rewards creative thinking. The only nerf I can see being warranted is a cool down on her passive because you can snag teammates so much ammo/so many heals just by rolling up to a massacre that just ended.

Imagine playing her in contrast with the new cat ability to rebuild doors. Barricade doors and then u can just come out the sides of buildings to push a team trying to break the doors
She looks very strong but it's far from being op in my opinion. The q is the strongest part of her kit no doubt but is a double edge sword so it really depends on the skills of the player, and that's also good. The weirdest thing to me is the vertical q on horizontal surfaces. I have a strong feeling that is going to be removed entirely, looks too easy to abuse. Passive and ultimate are fine, a selfish loba market and an improved death totem(both good but nothing special). It all comes down to your mind games and positioning, two things that luckily enough required skills. I can already see players get bored of her just because they can't use her effectively.

Rev and conduit are still annoying to fight against so I don’t think she will get nerfed heavily when they do decide to. Her whole look lore and personality is enough for me to main her if I’m honest 😅. Only reason why I stayed with wraith for so long was because I love her vibe and quips.
Loba is completely different when it comes to gift from the rift, bc alter can only take 1 item out of deathboxes only, loba's ult allows her 3 items out of anything including deathboxes in a bigger radius, its not even close to the same so its not gonna be as broken as ppl think unless there is a shit ton of deathboxes

Guys I say take a step back and just enjoy Alter. Remember when Ballistic and Vantage were being teased and everyone was saying they were gonna be broken.
I'll have it that Alter is opening up new dimensions to play with (no pun intended) and change the meta. However give it a few weeks, maybe a month to see where she sits in the "meta". No need to cry broken or OP before she has even dropped. Just enjoy the new changes, new legend etc, and if they nerf her they nerf her. If they don't touch her, learn to counter and adapt to the new legend and improve yourself around it.
Edit: also just remember wrath would work great with her, horizon can heal and shoot in her tactical. There is obviously gonna be audio cues for her tactical. Don't judge before she is dropped. People are usually afraid of the new norms
I agree with your statement about not overestimating her abilities but her kit is 100% team oriented. Even her passive being able to get 1 thing per death box from a distance is basically a support role. Plus her tact can be used for her and her teammates to avoid danger or to go inside of a building where you are not forced to look for an entrance inside. And the ult can even safely bring teammates back even if they are downed. She actually does more than wraith if we are being honest here.
I do like how she can use the passive from cover. Good for getting a stack of batteries. I assume she can based on how the black market works.

The upside to wraiths ult is it lasts so much longer and wraiths tac gives her invulnerability as well as movement buff whilst in it. I agree it is a fresh new spin. The one thing that always bugs me is once she is released every TH-camr will be click baiting the he'll out of it saying new legend is broken just like they do with every other legend haha.
100% believe she will be strong but unlike Seer/ Valk/ Horizon, I can't see her being a "Meta Defining" legend as such.

I think everyone's eyes are on the new legend, and the insane buff to Newcastle and Catalyst are going to be overlooked. Giving Newcastle the passive effect from Wattsons ult is excessive imo and not fair to Wattson players
