This song is so visceral and instinctual. I do not experience synesthesia, but I can see and feel every note. I can taste the cigarettes, smell the ocean, sense the anticipation and fear of lust/love. An all-time masterpiece.
I've always had intense respect for Lana Del Rey - I listened to her throughout high school, college, and graduate school for both entertainment and inspiration. She is able to make music accessible at a pop culture level while incorporating aspects of high culture and historical references. I still remember traveling to Italy to meet a family friend and listening to "Blue Jeans".

I'm in love (I'm in love)
I'm in love (I'm in love)
Down on the west coast
They got their icons
Their silver starlets
Their queens of saigons
And you’ve got the music
You’ve got the music in you
Don’t you?
Down on the west coast
They love their movies
Their golden dozen
And rock and roll groupies
And you’ve got the music
You’ve got the music in you
Don’t you?
You push it hard, I pull away
I'm feeling hotter than fire
I guess that no one ever really
Made me feel that much higher
Te deseo cariño
Boy, it’s you I desire
Your love, your love, my love
I can see my baby swingin'
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh, baby, ooh, baby, I'm in love
I can see my sweet boy swayin'
He's crazy y cubano como yo, l-love
On the balcony and I'm saying
Move baby, move baby
I'm in love
I can see my baby swingin'
His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up
On the balcony and I'm singing
Ooh, baby, ooh, baby, I'm in love
I can see my sweet boy swayin'
He's crazy y cubano como yo, my love
On the balcony and I'm saying

I'm in love

Tengo cáncer de ojos
This incredible woman has flames of talent and pure raw emotion within her, deserves recognition, a grammy?? Like for LANA Grammy award!!
Tara Murphy enlightenments She won one.
At least for making a song feel like smoking a cigarette
I love the sudden shifts in tempo
The guitar riff is a sample from "And I love her" by the Beatles
Lana's haunting vocals make love and music feel like a dreamy escape.
You literally wrote what i was thinking
This chorus is the most sensual thing I've ever heard 🔥
Therapy is expensive so I listen to Lana Del Rey.

Right

I don't need therapy, I'm the therapy itself
Yesss❤❤
Ultraviolence will always be my favorite album. Such a masterpiece
Steven Kunhardt An extremely underrated masterpiece
+Steven Kunhardt I agree this, Shades of Cool, Ultraviolence, and Brooklyn Baby XD
+Steven Kunhardt ME TOO
+Steven Kunhardt I dont know if it is a masterpiece as an album. But some of the songs in there are definitely masterpieces, Such as Cruel World, Shades of Cool and West Coast
Mpumelelo Lindokuhle
Eeerrr... I respect your tastes but to me BTD isn't half as good as Ultraviolence and Honeymoon (I still love it though, don't get me wrong)
This song is so unique. She is such a talented artist.
I agree. A standout in this day and age.
this never gets old.
She's my queen since I was 16. There's no other artist that brings me joy like she does.
Same and I am 20 now.
Aww....such a sweeet comment 💙😭
The first time I heard Lana was at 10, someday in 2012 my mother turned on the radio and Blue Jeans was playing, I didn't understand a lot about of music, but I love what I was hearing, so I immediately turn on my computer to search "Lana del Rey" and find Born to Die. I turned 18 this year and she's still my queen too, probably until the day I die, there's no other artist that makes me feel like Lana does.
She always the best
I do feel the same
This song makes me feel high without any drug, just music... ❤️

Down on the west coast
I get this feeling like
It all could happen
That’s why I’m leaving you for the moment
You for the moment
Boy blue, yeah, you

You're falling hard, I push away
I'm feelin' hot to the touch
You say you miss me
And I wanna say I miss you so much
But something keeps me really quiet
I'm alive, I'm a lush

OLD MONEY = LANA DEL REY
Lana is the type of artist who’s music transcends generations. I love her songs, my mother loves her songs and my grandmother loves her songs. Lana is such an icon.
Ben Darbyshire omg mom goals my mom says all of her music sounds the same
╮ lol my mom says she sings while sleeping
Idil Yaktubay thank god we aren’t deaf and tasteless like our families
Your family is goals
Ben Darbyshire I will love her forever
This song is more aesthetic than the West Coast itself.
as if you have been to the west coast shut up
No hablo tacataca
@@naomimaldinado9930 dice q esa cancion es mas aestetik (o como se escriba) que el propio west coast

2012 and 2022 - Summertime Sadness
2014 and 2024 - West Coast
Even after 10 years, Lana's songs sound divine
summertime sadness was rly trending last year still!!
I'm a thrash metal guy, lana has a spot in my hart man.. she's so talented 😍
There's no other song that makes me feel like West Coast... It's just... Unexplainable...

This song is like a drug, beautifull drug 🥺

North Star by Iamx
Moment’s Silence by Hozier. Thank me later
Her vocal performance is haunting, eerie and depressing yet poetic
what a beautiful description!
Didn't really think much of her music, but this is just breathtaking. It's absolutely ethereal.
Why didn’t u think much of her music ?
@@jenniferg452 I found her voice off-putting at first. It sounded like she was putting it on.
@@raminybhatti5740 oh well her label asked her to do a deeper voice in the beginning of her career because they thought people would take her more serious. She’s more herself now
It really is breathtaking, I died by how trash it was
@@is9hy Then why are you here?
I can't let go of this video
I don't understand how Lana's videos aren't getting more hits??
I guess. I can understand her not wanting the extreme fame and paps but it's a crime for this music to not reach more people! It's gold right?!
Hmmmmm true! I would hate for her to go mainstream though. Like yes for 2-3 songs on the album so it gets massive, but not the whole album, think I would cry!! *****
+John Kuckian Lana Del Rey is just about as "mainstream" as you can get.
+John Kuckian cuz she doesn't aim to get more views on her videos, she just puts out new songs and stuff because she likes it, I guess? :P
Thành Trung I wasn't hating!!
Benvenuto
Awesome 👌 so nicely said I like that one.
this song alone is an aesthetic itself
This is like relaxing in the beach summertime, but your mind is stuck in winter with all the sadness.
how dare u type out exactly what i was feeling

If you're reading this, congratulations, you have good music taste.

Thanks
Just Cade love your comment ♥️♥️

because I listen to Miyagi, right?
every time she sings "I can see my baby swinging" I have an instant mix of feelings
I see the people I loved that are dead. 🥲

Wttfff...it released before 10yrs😮😮😮what a song man...damn..❤❤
Why this utterly beautiful, talented woman hasn't done a song for a James Bond movie boggles my mind, it really does. Seriously she has to do the theme for the next movie.
I know, I can't believe her song 24 didn't become a Bond theme. Because it was certainly designed like one.
+II DIRECTx II ya DIRECT so she can be another sell out
I've always thought she'd be perfect for that.
99growlithe99 Agree, 24 is perfect for a Bond movie.
+II DIRECTx II
She is not a brit.
Ultraviolence is the most underrated album of all time. It's perfect from start to finish.
Justin Goldman i think is born to die.
Justin Goldman nah born to die 🔥
I like Born to Die better

This song doesn't make me feel like I'm floating. It actually makes me wanna lie down in weird positions, look at the ceiling and think hard about extremely detailed and dramatic fake scenarios lmao. Listening to this while on a drive >>>
Can't relate more
Like this song specifically makes me feel something i can't express
This is exactly what I’m doing-
Same🤚🏻
3 months late but yes I feel this!
this song does something to me
This is literally my favourite Lana's song. It's perfection.
Like all his songs. This woman is a goddess and I weigh my words carefully.
Agreed it's a perfect song
Y'all have taste
Driving at night through downtown Los Angeles while this song is playing on full blast with all the windows down is such a religious experience!!
Carlos Lopez I cant imagine ugh hope I can experience that someday
wow now i need to do this
I assume you have a dedicated playlist for that feeling/moment?
I can only dream to do the same... as a passenger in an open top eldorado, with a smoking hot 50-something suited gentleman at the wheel... xD
Airpods are not enough I need this injected in my veins

Six years strong
im a 40 year old diehard metal fan, and im obsessed with this song... amoungst many others of hers
I feel the same. I was in love with a man that resembles the older in the video. I still miss him. So much....
You shouldn’t be given the option to dislike Lana Del Rey
LANA DEL REY
Juan pablo Henao she used to be known as lana del ray. so ig this person is wrong and right at the same time 🧍🏻
The mistake that TH-cam don't saw
She's mediocre
Evade_sneakie 2020 said no one ever before❤️
Her best song in career. I can't get enough. Over and over again.. Pure gold
Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh, I'm in love
Lana's voice is otherworldly. It makes you feel things you didn't know you could feel
So fucking trueee!! Its PASSION of something which even idk 😭🥹😂🤌🏻🤷 she takes you to another world!! 😍❤️💫🥹
She looks insanely beautiful here
EVERYWHERE
Fr almost turned me straight
Eventho the vid is black and white.. unbelievable 🥺💕
as always
I honestly think she’s the most beautiful woman in music there has ever been.
I still can’t believe she hasn’t won a Grammy!! She blasts the competitors out the building! Dammit lol
Amy winehhouse the greatest ♥
It's a shame right?
Elena Fox she doesn’t need that shitty award which is manipulated by big labels! She is damn cool!
Well she's not a great preformer
Grammy needs her :)
The beat drop is one of the finest things that exists ❤
Lana is literally Perfection on earth.
Colourmesky 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽speaking the truth
Depends what you mean by perfection. I'd say Alexander Fleming who discovered antibiotics thus saying millions of lives was perfection.
i've never been high but i'm sure this is what being high feels like
i really wanna get high if it feels like this.
@@lel7260 it feels like this , 10/10 recc listening while high omg
