I am so happy you did this video. I pray more people watch this so that they will know it's not just a snap of a finger to do these events. Thank you thank you thank you so much!
Thank you for the video. I learned alot about what need to be done before the event. I generally press everything at the event, thanks for the tip to press ahead of time. I also learned I need more than 3 or 4 people to help setup and breakdown. Event planning is a job and I love when people are pleased with the results. You did an excellent job. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for taking out the time to share with us. This is a lot of work that is worth so much. I pray that God will continue to reward you and favor you as you work in the gift that he gave you. God Bless You Melanie!
Thanks for sharing! It is a lot of work. My friend just started her event planning , and I helped her with her first wedding! OMG! It’s amazing how rude some people can be! It takes a really special person to plan events and deal with so many different personalities! Hats off to you and all event planners!
Thank you so much. I am a team of one...me. Yes, it does limit the size of my events so watching you, I am inspired to step out on faith and reach out to grow my business by taking your lead and you're experience to know there is a better way. I am retiring in the next 60 days from the 9-5 govt job so can't wait to get deeper into your "how to's". Thanks again for sharing!

I know it's a lot of work! I'm glad you went behind the scenes so people can see. I'm a party planner by nature and I only do events for work and family! Lots of people ask me if I ever think about making a living out of it and I always tell them how much work it is.
Great video As a event decorator I totally get what you are saying. Some people walk into a room and think it was thrown together in a hour or two. And before that is the planning stage.Fun but work tfs
Melanie, let me first say "thank you" and your entire staff for a job well done. Having been in the hospitality industry for years I truly relate to the ins and outs of your event planning business. I loved your decor for this baby shower it was simply "adorable"🧸 table settings, balloons, dessert table, etc. Rowenta irons are "great"! Have safe traveling to and fro on your business trip. Take care 💞

Decreeing FAVOR concerning your vision, business and whats to come for you and your family. With that being said CONGRATS on your new adventure! Have a blessed day everyone. 🥰🤗
Thanks for sharing ! I think it’s so important to show all the work that go into to preparing for an event. Thanks for mentioning /talked about having the passion for what you do and not being into ton just for money it makes a huge difference😉
Wow what a job executed perfectly.... This was sooo informative with alot of knowledge...I was like wow that's alot of prepping and preparing behind the scenes and not to mention once you get there to set up.... It turned out Beautifully... I love the centerpieces and the decor was gorgeous.. Thanks for sharing this.
I am so happy I finally found this video , I am at work and I have been checking like crazy to see if it posted . I’m so excited to now watch this !!!! ❤️
Hi!!!!💙 Lady M. I enjoyed watching you 😊 as I was cleaning out and organizing my Thirty One tote I take with me everyday. You have loootttsss of energy lady😊 I do too though when I'm doing something I like . Thanks for sharing your wonderful day in event planning ~~~like the shades 😎 love the BLUE white Mickey them decor 💜 everything beautiful!!
This was truly an amazing video , I am thinking of becoming and event planner and this is exactly where I needed to be to get ready. I wrote down all the websites that u provided to help me get ready
Wow, what a great birthday present Mrs. Melanie one day before my birthday lml I enjoyed watching this video & I also don't like those chairs for events but you all did fantastic definitely great teamwork the effort shows in the end please continue to share more videos like this making us feel apart of your beautiful work love it
Glad you went into this detail. I knew you were doing a lot of work but I guess since we usually saw the finished product, it seemed you just had a magic machine to make the "waa-lah"! Yep, you are a hard-working lady!!!😁
Hi Melanie! Kudos! Lots of hard work; from one ex-planner to a current one, a lovely job. That’s why I’m ex-planner-now event design and coordination only. All the heavy lifting you and your team did today takes a lot of out you and so true the day doesn’t end. I have a flat rate, contracts for others more suited to do the heavy lifting. AND, you can barely find a chair cover in California anymore; we have them and they are still pretty but the idea is truly dated on the West coast. It’s all about Chiavari or silk or ribbon or sash or jewels or something better; a little pricier but a whole lot less work. I find it valuable to have established relationships with not only the local vendors, but the ones in the next two over because when you charge like you are putting in 48 hours and have a team to pay, it’s no thing to pick up the phone and have some of your partners roll through or send somebody to lend a hand. I love what I do and I want to keep loving it-somebody else can do the hard stuff. Good job! You deserve all the respect.
Absolutely! It’s a whole lot! That is more of what I do now as well, except in cases like this one... Yes, I wish they would go away but unfortunately, the market here is not there yet! I am requesting all my clients in 2020 to get chairs though! Tooo much work! Lol!
Wow thanks for sharing. You make tedious work look easy. I could see how those chairs could be a piece of work. Do you think adding a strip of elastic from one side to the other (front and back bottom) horizontally could help? Your events are always so beautiful and grand. ❤
Mrs. Melanie!!!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍 LOVE this video! Thank you so much for continuing to inspire and share your wisdom with us. I did a brunch wedding at a local mansion last May and it POURED down raining all morning long. I actually became ill while setting up (the back and forth in the rain from the venue to my vehicle) I don't have a team (yet 😊) but fortunately, the caterers were a God sent and helped me set up and break down. Everything turned out beautiful even though it didn't go according to plan. Establishing those business relationships is crucial in this field. (And being a people person helps, too.) You and your team did an AMAZING job! I just have a few questions-- Did the plates come from Posh Party supplies? What do you do with the balloons (centerpieces, columns, etc.) after the event? Do you rent or own the throne chair(s), cake/dessert table stands? I heard you mention storage unit. What size storage unit would you recommend for one just starting out? Do you pay the "Luxers"? Hourly, by the job, is this an apprenticeship or do they volunteer to build their resume/portfolio?
You are so welcome... You can find the plates at Posh I give them to client or pop them I own everything I recommend going to see one They are paid staff...
Thank you so much Mrs. Melanie for taking your time to answer my questions. 😍😍😍 I did get a storage unit & will continue to build my inventory. God bless you!
Yes thank you for this video , most times it’s me alone an maybe a couple of people will jump in and help when time lasp time lol 😂 the balloons 🎈 are another level prep an bagging those night before or 5 am . Thanks I really hope people see this video so much anxiety flows in the air 😂😂😂
Melanie you still did a great job in the midst of the rain. Thank you so much for sharing your video with us. You are wonderful. How did you get the chair covers to stay on?. I do not like those chairs either.
Hi! Thank u for ur video it was very helpful. If I may give u a little tidbit... the only water that u should be putting in ur iron is distilled water. Sis amazing, I'm tired for you WOWZERS first the ironing that alone took me out not my favorite thing but that iron seems great a life saver huh. The set up was amazing when I saw them chairs I was like ohhh no those are gonna be hard then when you said it I chuckled but great job love the back drop and balloon polls did you do those in advance or there. The new team did wonderful the dessert table looks great. Were you in charge of the main food as well. Breakdown 40 mins that's great. This is a lot behind the scenes your passion shows great job to you and new team. Cheers.🥂
I love this Melanie! I'm a chef in addition to my Federal government job and I cater on the side. These behind the scenes videos apply to my business as well. I've been using rowenta irons for years. The theme was so cute and flawlessly executed as usual.
Hi Mel, I love this video. Give us more, please. You look like you where so tired. Did you leave the link for the mickey mouse, they where so cute. Be bless.
Wonderful presentation. How do you figure out what to charge for the items used? Do you provide them on a rental basis? If so, how do you deal with the issue that some people take them home? People always walk out with the centerpieces. Any suggestions? Thank you.

01.21.20: Hey Ms. Mel! I finally had seen how you did your event and I’m grateful to see the process of how you did everything. I must admit into the idea of doing for event planning a couple years ago, and I interned for a company, I was not too pleased. Yet to see the process of how you did, gives me hope an idea to try again. Anyways, thank you for showing us the inside scoop of an event with having an eye for detail and ear for music (it’s on point!). By the way, we already know that you’re a bazillionaire, I mean like we got we know God who is abundance of bazillions. And as for Waffle House, I agree, I enjoy how they make their food right in front of you, so it’s delicious 😋. Thank you again!✨🧡

I use cloth linens and both glass, faux and paper plates…

I just have a few questions--
Did the plates come from Posh Party supplies?
What do you do with the balloons (centerpieces, columns, etc.) after the event?
Do you rent or own the throne chair(s), cake/dessert table stands?
I heard you mention storage unit. What size storage unit would you recommend for one just starting out?

Hi, where did you get the balloon centerpiece holders from ? Or should I say what are they?
I have the DIY video posted in the description box...
How about a clothing rack they have rolling ones, drape it over and use a hand steamer to get the wrinkles out.
Yes, that’s a great tip!
@@LivingLuxuriouslyforLess I like to conserve some energy for other things and not knock myself completely out.
Wonderful presentation. How do you figure out what to charge for the items used? Do you provide them on a rental basis? If so, how do you deal with the issue that some people take them home? People always walk out with the centerpieces. Any suggestions? Thank you.
I’ve never had that issue ;(

By the way, we already know that you’re a bazillionaire, I mean like we got we know God who is abundance of bazillions. And as for Waffle House, I agree, I enjoy how they make their food right in front of you, so it’s delicious 😋.
Thank you again!✨🧡
