XA55 shoots 4K UHD and has superior autofocus, audio, and image quality. I would only get the HM650 nowadays if it were extremely cheap. So get the XA55.
Sorry, I don't own this camera anymore. I made this video years ago. The fan noise is not that bad. I just remember noticing it was louder than my other cameras. It shouldn't effect dialogue recording in standard interviews or news gathering.
I own two similar cameras made by Panasonic the HPX 250 and the HPX 270. These types of cameras are the backbone of my business which is shooting live theatre, concerts and dance recitals. The image quality on the HPX 270 is outstanding. It rivals my GH4. It handles the contrasty lighting of live theatre extremely well and skin tones look great. There is not as much detail as the GH4 but of course a GH4 doesn't have all the features an ENG camera. I use the GH4 for my static wide shot. I think ENG cameras often get overlooked but they are really flexible and have a lot of features that you don't find on mirrorless and DSLR cameras. Gerry in Calgary.
Where this camera shines is in the lens. The fujinon 23x zoom is superb.
I’m deciding between this and the canon XA55. Which one would you go with?

Can you make a example shot in a normal/silent situation. Because you're saying it's fans are kinda loud.

how would you compare the jvc hm650 to the hpx250? They seem very similar in terms of picture quality.
ND filters?
Interesting video
XA20 appears to have a way better image.
