Has there ever been a better vocalist? Her voice can be haunting, wistful, whimsical, sinister, tender etc. Some of her vocals move me to tears and her songs can be heartbreaking. Having lost both my parents, I always tear up to Cloudbusting and Breathing. She's incredible. I cannot abide the big-voiced divas from the USA. There has never been a female artist that come close to Kate and probably never will be.
I love the end, when she talks to the other scientist, it looked so natural, and believable. That is what Miss(Dame) Kate Bush does so extraordinarily. From Delboy. A fan, since 1978.❤. Can you imagine if Miss Kate Bush was an opera singer.
Arent you scared of her? What do you think shes singing about? Shes not telling anyone. She wont snitch. Ever wondered what THAT technology is? Clue 4 ya. What does she carry when she enters the officers room in the official video?
I just had a read through his Wikipedia page, and it's interesting to find out that Kate had actually consciously decided to avoid the use of cymbals and hi-hats at times. I'd always found it quite unusual that there's not one single crash cymbal noise on the whole 'Hounds Of Love' album; In most songs you'll hear three or four during the first minute alone! :-)
@@mightyV444 Probably no coincidence that she sang backing vocals on Peter Gabriel's 3rd album where PG specified that Phil Collins and Jerry Marotta could not use cymbals. Collins and his engineer also invented the 'gated reverb' drum sound on the album, as also heard here.
@@paulstroud2647 - ...and it was a lucky coincidence according to said engineer Hugh Padgham too, yes! And you're right, it must've been Kate's collab' with PG giving her that same idea! 🙂
This was a live performance folks! This BBC program did a bang-up job on the stage design (guessing it was Kate, actually). Watch the end of the video as it pulls back then comes back to Kate - the stage is stage-lit with red backlighting, as opposed to the greens of the live performance.
Really loved the staged production. I know Kate was so good at doing this. The alternative would be a Top of the Pops performance. But Kate is so much more than that.
Sobering.....obviously she took the idea from the Manhattan Project but she made the mass weapon music itself, irony. It is a great idea and something that should give us pause. Her performance her is brilliant as usual.

008Invisibleman I think because she is a perfectionist and an amazing performer, she didnt/doesn't do many live performances, but when she did, *she did* !I think she'd likely refuse to lip synch, I maybe wrong,
As said it was how things were back then, here's a shocker to most ToTP was lip synced from the very first episode because the acoustics in the old church where it started were awful. Time doesn't allow for the full sound checks on such shows.
That's because in the eighties you couldn't perform music like this with this technical effort live. Technology wasn't just up for that. Listen to live performances in the eighties from music that depends heavily on technology.

Lydon is a much better singer than Bush
Kate is still the best and the most beautiful Lady of all time ❤❤❤
Still incredible 2023
She is bloody gorgeous...and a great great writer...
Wogan showcased some great songs that were overlooked ny Top of the Pops. Kate is such a one-off and unique.

They bothered to make full stage production for a one off performance. Kate is true artist.
Wogan had the best sets for her, didn't he?
Came here to find this. Thanks for sharin!
Still a very important tune 2023
Drummer is Stuart Elliott. He was the drummer of Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, The alan parsons project and elite session musician.

@@mightyV444 Same for The Dreaming, she wanted to avoid the phony MOR sound that was fashionable at the time.
@@priscillaeyles3301 - Now that you've pointed it out: Yes! No cymbals on 'The Dreaming' either! Thank you for the info!

Stunning performance and song!
Love the Keyboards done up to look like ancient PC's

Sorry, that's not live. That's the exact version of the record.
Well she is in the studio so in that sense it’s live

Playback! But the stage performance of the artists was precious😂🎉❤

Beyonce is a social experiment. Governments knew if they could sell her catawalling to the masses.
They got them..

Why do most of her live tv performances sound like she was lip synching? They sound exactly I mean EXACTLY like the album versions of the songs.
