Nobody seems to have a problem with FSU's logo, the Blackhawk's logo, or even the Chiefs..which all reference native imagery. No reason they can't bring back the logo without the name. That "W" logo is predictable, cheap, corporate crap.
@@SwivelHippie the name and the logo are two different things. I can understand “redskins” being derogatory, but the logo certainly is not. It’s a portrait of an actual Native American chief. It’s not a silly caricature, it’s a person. There is pride there, hence why mr. Montana has felt so strongly about this.
.I would stay in Landover Maryland build that area up I wouldn't want nobody. No Congress telling me what to do with my football team.I payed six billion dollars for this team I would say hell NO!!! Congress is fucked up😂.
I’ve been a fan of the Washington Redskins since 1971 and I’ll be a fan of the Washington Redskins until the day I die, regardless of what the owners choose to call the team. I live in central Virginia, so I guess I’m blessed to be living this close to my favorite team. I gotta tell ya, though, that, as long as they stay in the VA/DC/MD area, I really do not care where their new stadium will be located. Of course it will be great for them to get a new home field, but I honestly don’t care whether or not it’s located in DC. Frankly, because of the crime problem in the metro DC area, I kind of hope that the new field won’t be located in the RFK Stadium location. Tradition isn’t worth the sacrifice of safety. Now, if DC would get the crime in the city under control, THEN I’d be 100% on-board with an RFK 2.0. I absolutely DO care about the team name and logo, though! I was 7 years old when I chose this team as my favorite. At that age, I didn’t know anything about football, but my older brother was getting a child’s football helmet for Christmas that year, and because my mother wanted to be fair, she asked me to pick one out of the Sears Christmas catalog for my Christmas present. At the time, I think there were only 24 NFL teams, but in the pictures that were printed in the catalog, all 24 teams were represented, so I studied those pictures meticulously for weeks before I made my choice, and I picked the Redskins because, in my opinion, the design of the helmet was the absolute best of all of them. To this day, I still believe that the Redskins logo is the best logo ever chosen to represent any sports team and I hope the current owners of this team will listen to the overwhelming majority of the fans and return the “chief” to his rightful place of representation on the helmets of the Washington football team. If they don’t feel comfortable with the “Redskins” name, I can live without that. There are plenty of other names that could respectfully represent the pride and heritage of Native Americans (Warriors, The Tribe, Braves, etc.), but in my opinion, sticking with the “Commanders” name and logo is disrespectful to not only the Blackfoot tribe, but to Native Americans, overall. I’m not speaking as a complete outsider; I have a high percentage of Native American blood myself, and I’m proud of that. When Snyder (🙄) gave in to pressure and changed the name of this team, I considered the possibility of switching my favorite team to the Kansas City Chiefs. Not only do they happen to be my second favorite team, but their helmet was my second choice in the 1971 Sears Christmas catalog. As I said, I will be a fan of the Washington Redskins until I die, but if this team continues to refuse to switch back to the Redskins logo and a Native American theme, I will always be tempted to switch my team preference. If they refuse to listen to their fans, myself included, maybe I should support another team that is more supportive of its fan-base. I’m not trying to instigate change by making a threat. Obviously, no one will care what I decide to do as a football fan, but I have to ask… why not give the fans what they want?
They don't care about your feelings. They want to win with a brand that isn't offensive and a distraction to the team. You seem like the type of person that doesn't care about other peoples feelings, so I guess it's karma.
Buddy. You really should diversify your news sources and your world view. It'd be good for you. I'm not going to address everything here, but I will say crime is down in DC this year. A report in August had it a the lowest levels in the 20 years MPD has been recording the statistic. That's from the police and DOJ, not any media outlet. If that's not enough to make you go "hmm, maybe I should read a little more and not just parrot the talking points I hear on TV from people who make money off scaring people like me" then I don't know what is.
People have no idea what "wokeness" means, yet they grand stand to attack it because they are miserable in their life. I have 2 friends that call themselves "woke" and it doesn't impact my life at all. They are smart, decent people. They just have a different view of the world. If a logo and team name offended 10,000 minorities, or 1,000,000 minorities, it is a distraction and will impact the team negatively. Commanders logo needs to be fixed, whether we re-brand or re-name the team or not. A "W" is lame. We also need better uniform design.
"Woke" means something different to everyone. The origins of the term are in that you're not asleep to the realities of the world. This is a good thing. It's been turned by other people to mean other things and has become useless accordingly. I also don't know why all the comments on a land bill discussion have turned into all of this. I thought this video was about RFK, and I'm one of the people in it so I'm pretty sure I'm right!!

The redskins logo is a portrait of a historic Native American. It’s asinine for anyone to have an issue with it… unless you’re actually racist and don’t want a minority as the logo.
The team moving back to DC >>> name/logo change. That said, now that cancel culture is in the rear view, let’s at least bring back the logo as there should be zero offense taken by any.
