    we see all these pro modellers using special tools and materials and you just use simple house hold items and it looks just as good.

    Hello quick kits I wish to say thank you ,a few weeks ago I crashed my truck and it meant so much to me ,it was the only reliable thing in my life ,your videos inspired me to make my own model of the truck before the wreck ,since the model is no longer available I plan on making a vacuum form version of the truck after the crash ,thank you for inspiring me to fight my deamons in the form of building models ,the truck was a Ford F-250 from 1997 ,thank you for all you do and inspiring model builders to come up with new ideas and for helping me cope with the loss of my castel and my only freedom
    Edit (If it wasn't for it being a steel body I would not be here ,I walked away with no injury)

    Late to the party but I just have the utmost respect for you. Lots of other modeller uses specialized materials, you OTOH just used simple material.
    Good job. I hope you make more videos.

    I used to have probably about 5-6 models when I was a kid, if I remember correctly I had one helicopter, one tank and some planes, I don’t remember exactly what models they were but I do know I miss them now they are gone, I stumbled across your channel somehow and I’ve just bought an airfix harrier starter kit and I can’t wait to give it a go again, I’m 32!
    Your channel is amazing Thankyou for the great content and advice and for jogging my memories

    Great vid and love the channel. The CD is a cool idea for the base, but there are other less-brittle things you could use for the pole. In the real world a capable tank driver would never drive onto railway tracks like that... It's a sure way to throw a track.

  • @KitKabinet
    @KitKabinet 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Although I like the effect that was achieved with the spaghetti telegraph pole, I'd personally refrain from using foodstuff/perishables on diorama's and bases. I myself at a time used to use salt and sugar to simulate sand and gravel respectively, but that gave some annoying results with changing humidity (sometimes already a couple of months later).
    However, I have also seen baking soda used to great effect to simulate snow, so apparently some materials from the kitchen would work quite well.

    hmm i think the spaghetti is a good idea but it would be too brittle and would snap you should try using a sprew from models

    Great and informative video,as always. With the track ballast I'd use either OO or HO scale ballast, which no doubt you could borrow from a friend into model railways, as perhaps you could with the telegraph pole and if not they're only £4 for a pack of 16 on the web. The position of the STUG should however be hull down, and behind the railway line, using the railway line as cover, as it would have been in a real life combat situation. You could also make the diorama base a bit larger and include some MG positions and foxholes for the troops protecting the STUG from infantry attack.
