Great stuff man! Thanks for sharing. I recently lost a Crux3 in the ocean and now I’m deliberating whether to get a Mobula8 analog or get the Crux3 again. 10mins flight time on a 2s is crazy tempting! 🔥
Great video, 10 minutes out of that 720mah is crazy. Wish we could get more out of the O3 version though. :( Constructive criticism: audio levels, that music was WAY louder than it needed to be. Also, caution with that active roadway.
Yeah am in the same boat when it comes to those flight times. Yeah I knew about the audio, just wanted to push this video out fast so I could do fly my other quads! :)
Thanks for the Comparison, I currently had to do the same with a Pavo Pico regarding the battery tray, so far so good, but it feels a bit too heavy for any sort of quick maneuvering, but will be trying this on my Mob8 HD. Thanks again and keep up the content. JUST SEND IT!!
I did the same but cut the crossbars in the middle so they will flex and help hold the battery in there plus it helps protect the battery from ground taps.
Just discovered gnb 550's fit perfectly and I get over 4 minutes with the o3. Still use the red 720 hv's with a strap from time to time for 5min plus cruises.
@dustinpugh8222 this is intriguing, because no mods and flying with standard 3 blade gemfan props. My rates don't vary much from factory, and haven't fiddled with pids (of note I noticed alot more oscillations using 5 blade props like you). I almost always land at around 7.1 volts Flight times are Gnb450mah blues- 3min Gnb550mah green- 4min Gnb660hv yellow - 4min + Gnb 720hv 4red - 5min + I push it fairly hard and don't treat it like a tiny whoop either. Will try upload some vids with osd on new channel @anansifpv soon
I'm using Tattu 450 HVs on an analog Mob8. They fit fine. I'm also flying the Gemfan D51 props - they work great. Happymodel specifically said to me that they do not recommend them, but as you've demonstrated, the D51s work with the 1103 motors just fine. I'm using a Caddx Turtle V2 camera/DVR; it fits in the O3 mounting frame perfectly. Lastly, I rotated the camera 90 degrees coz I like my battery mounted transversely. I get about 4:45 flight time. It's a nice little flyer, but it is a bit finicky. I find the motor plugs can work loose pretty easily, leading to the FC weirding out. It happens enough that I notice. This makes it less than ideal. I won't be flying mine outdoors any time soon. Until I can figure a fix for those plugs, this thing's limited to the living room.
Good stuff man, thanks for publishing it, I’ll def get some 720 batteries. Also, did you notice much difference in noise/ performance with the 5 bladed props?
Hey guy I'm researching the mob8 and id like to know if the frame is a decent thickness that will hold up to a crash? I have the Betafpv Meteor85 and after one minor crash I had 3 hairline cracks in the skinny frame so I'm trying to avoid this with the Happymodel. Thanks for the great video review! ✈️👍
I actually flew by mobula8 with an 18650. the mobula8 03 plus the battery is about 110g . The mobula8 analog is 42g plus an 18650 50g is 92g. So the thinking was that and 18650 analog mobula8 is still lighter than an 03 mobula8 with regular lipo. Only issue might have been having to fly 1S istead of 2s because u can only put one 18650. It flies but obviously not as agile as a lipo and with about the same flight time as a 650mah 1s so not much point in putting it on 18650 unless my 18650 sucks which is always possible
There's a really nice battery mod on Thingiverse that I'm using (and I have some of my own Mob8 models there, too). It works with the GNB HV850-60C and the GNB Red HV720-100C. And I found I get a best times with the HV720-100C's you show, too. Love it about the times on the analog - I've considered getting an Analog Mob8 to go with my O3.
I never understood why they always have the worst battery trays for these 2s whoops. I always just cut them off, drill 4 holes in the bottom and mount the tinyhawk 3’s battery tray on my 2s tinywhoop. That tray fits any battery and it protects the fc better.

Sorry for your loss! I never had a Crux but this Mob's are fun for sure.

Thanks this video probably saved me about 40 bucks.
GNB 550 is a perfect fit.
Nice video!
What's the max battery size we can fit into the frame?

4 minutes is great! I only get about 2 and a half with those same batteries. What voltage do you land? Any modifications or settings changes?

I have both the hdzero and the analog verisons. Both run on 1S and 2S as advertised.

Man good idea I been wanting to shove a bigger 2s in my mob8 builds.
Appreciate it 👍🏻
Great review buddy... btw, how do you display the bars @ top left in OSD?
The power draw on the analog version seems to be roughly half of the o3 one: 4A vs 8 Amps!
Good stuff man, thanks for publishing it, I’ll def get some 720 batteries. Also, did you notice much difference in noise/ performance with the 5 bladed props?
Not really, they both are pretty quiet.

I put a 18650 on mobula8??how did you do that, 1s? Connector?
Should the HD version get like 8 minutes?
Thanks for the info!!!!
How's the sound from the 6 blade vs the 3 blade prop? Looking to make it more quiet
show your battery mod I can not see on my frame how to get the strap in there and yes I am new to this, thanks.
Hi, what propellers do you use for Mobula8 with O3?
Доброе. Подскажите, какого размера используете ремешок для фиксации батареи?

Thanks dude! I'm going to try GNB 850s with that mod
This mod is good right?
@@BlinkerDKS It's still on my Mob8. Works great for the larger packs, just makes the quad heavier due to the larger pack.
@@Dorff_Meister Thanks for your response! I'll try it out! Oh.. Can you tell me which plastic should I use, filling and other parameters??
@@BlinkerDKS I printed in PLA, 0.3mm, 20% infill. TPU might be nice, but IIRC it's hard to glue.
Weight vs flight time. It's a balancing act but, you could strip your DJI o3 now.
could you share mobula 8 lite dump file or betaflight settings ?
How does it fly with 720 compared to 450 battery?
Здравствуйте а что за пропы 5 лопастные? Они именно для мобулы 8 продаются? Или от другого квадрокоптера? Подошли?

Man you warmed it up to 124C
hello new friend i just subscribed
Hello!
Can you copy dump file? I think i need it
You can get it from the happy model website.
probably the 03 dji unit is using alot of power to run
my 450 tattu seem to cause flight controller freak out/ idle up from it touching the usb port......anyone else experience this?
Yup. Check the gummies. Mine were installed upside down. Right side up you get lots of clearance. Failure of QC.
