David, I totally agree! I graduated USMC Boot Camp in 1992, 2nd Battalion - Golf Company - Platoon 2031. Due to the Political Correctness and inclusive agenda, the current Marine Corp is really soft, shameful and most of all, not respected.
@@MyBlessed12, you both crack me up. I graduated just 2 years after you and our DI's complained how soft they had to be on us. November 10, 1775. The first walks over, puts his arm around the second's shoulders and says, "So, let me tell you about the Old Corps."
@@davidwarner3326 David, the main point is, the Corp has adapted the Political Correctness model. The inclusion of anyone, anything, and all. This model isn't the hallmark of a Marine nor the Marine Corp. A Marine should represent the FEW. We had to earn our title. With all the changes, which have lowered the standards of training and institutional existence, the Marine Corp has become something of a joke and something that I am ashamed of; just as many other Marine Corp veterans are. So, let me be clear, I am not placing emphasis on the OLD CORP - NEW CORP conversation. I'm targeting the ridiculous direction and acceptance of degradation into the, at one time, greatest Military force in the world.

@@Goffas_and_gumpys If you’re referring to the red stripe on the sides of the pants (trousers), NCOs get those when they become NCOs. If you’re referring to the yellow stripes on the sleeves, it depends. No officers wear stripes, nor do they have the red trim (lines) on their jackets (blouses). The yellow stripes on the sleeves are for the Marines that are graduating at the rank of Private First Class, which you either obtain after 6 months of service, or you actually have it in your contract before you go to boot camp that you will graduate PFC
each diagonal stripe on the bottom of the sleeve represents four years of service, They are referred to as hashmarks so to stripes we’ve been eight years of service 3=12, etc, Only enlisted personnel have the hashmarks officers do not have them
@@pcinnante1 Hi Pete. Thank you. Now second question. Are those " hashmarks equal " as navy, air force, army, and parts there off as USMC, Cavalry, Green berets, rangers and so on and so on???

Why do they not parade with weapons? In all British army pass offs each soldier must carry a weapon and be fully trained in drilling with it and firing it
@@pcinnante1 But that doesn’t explain why they don’t parade with weapons. After our pass off all weapons go back into the armoury ready for their next use
Dress Blues is actually two words. Dress uniforms are the most formal uniforms in the military, equivalent to civilian strollers or morning suits. The German equivalent would be the old Gesellschaftanzug or Paradeuniform that's no longer worn. Blues refers to the color of the uniform. This is opposed to Reds, which is worn by bands, and the Whites which was retired in the 1980s. There is a Blue-White variant that is still in use, but is only authorized for SNCOs and Officers.
yeh, and the cooks in the army get berets. it's the way things have gone downhill. everyone is 'entitled" and everybody gets what they want when they want it. now army has WWII uniforms and are under delusion that will help that crumbling institution. the MEN who made those unis so respected would likely all be considered racists, sexists and homophobes, bible thumpers, imperialists, etc., nowadays.
2013 we had em, but only the guides get to wear for graduation and everyone else was in deltas. This is pretty surprising for everyone to be wearing it for grad.

Marine NCO : "hiing .. I like salute, let the guy salute..."
USMC 64 -- 68. Thank God it was nothing like what I see here now. As for today. No thank you.
The first man signs his contract to join the Continental Marine Corps and steps outside. The second man signs and also steps outside.
@@MyBlessed12 The Corps didn't adopt it. It was rammed down their throat by act of Congress

Can someone explain why some get a strip and some don't. Is it something to do with their chosen MOS or something else.
Thanks.
The strip is for NCOS it’s earned at the rank of SGT. The new Marine will earn.
@@markmayfield210 Nope, it designated rank of PFC. Some have them at marchout and some don't. Hence my query. Why some do and some don't. Thanks anyway.
Lance Corporal Bulldog. You are the shit!!!!
Not under - the law! No tax payer - can have - any weapon! Asian USMC - literal!
Ok, I need help :) What mean or what are those single stripes or what those single straps on lower arms sleeves mean ???
each diagonal stripe on the bottom of the sleeve represents four years of service, They are referred to as hashmarks so to stripes we’ve been eight years of service 3=12, etc, Only enlisted personnel have the hashmarks officers do not have them
@@pcinnante1 Hi Pete. Thank you. Now second question. Are those " hashmarks equal " as navy, air force, army, and parts there off as USMC, Cavalry, Green berets, rangers and so on and so on???
short answer is no, The Navy, Coast Gaurd & Marines are the same, the Army has one stripe for every 3 years of service & the Airforce does not us Hashmarks or the proper term is Service Stripes
@@pcinnante1 Thank you. I was wondering what those mean. I also seen police wearing service marks, Other question is, to get promoted, do you have to serve ex amount of years or say, from Sargent to stuff or sergeant major is automatic by serving ex amount of years ?? I am asking this because I served in German Air Force in 1970's and would like to know what is difference or it was difference, since, East and West Germany united, we have now, many ranks in Germany which we hadn't in my time.
@@pcinnante1 Hello Buddy !! Promotions in US Military. Do you have to serve ex amount of years before next promotions or you can get promoted for " service above and beyond " performing your duties ?? Also, do you have to attend courses to be promoted from sergeant to stuff Sargent or senior sergeant ??
Any advice from family or friends visiting their graduate like how early should we arrive for the graduation ceremony? I know it takes time to get through the gate and all. My brother graduates Marine Corps January 28th next week. Just want some advice from anyone who has gone before.
We arrived before 7:30 am 9:00 am graduation, but it was a big graduation class

Why do they not parade with weapons? In all British army pass offs each soldier must carry a weapon and be fully trained in drilling with it and firing it
All weapons are turned in before graduation, after graduation they report to the next demand and are issued new weapons
@@pcinnante1 But that doesn’t explain why they don’t parade with weapons. After our pass off all weapons go back into the armoury ready for their next use

Question: What is or means Dressblues? I am German Para ret.
Dress Blues are the iconic US Maribe uniform, unique to only this branch of the US Military, oldest uniform in all the US Armed Forces
What is the march they are playing from 9:30 ?
Semper Fidelis, the USMC marching anthem
Sgt Tom Kochon Paris island platoon 205
Sadly Lcpl Lily was killed on the highway while assistng a mototist
Damn they got dress blues out of boot?
Yes, it’s part of every Marines sea bag now, an expensive addition !
yeh, and the cooks in the army get berets. it's the way things have gone downhill. everyone is 'entitled" and everybody gets what they want when they want it. now army has WWII uniforms and are under delusion that will help that crumbling institution. the MEN who made those unis so respected would likely all be considered racists, sexists and homophobes, bible thumpers, imperialists, etc., nowadays.
I was thinking same Note Corp owes me some Blues
2013 we had em, but only the guides get to wear for graduation and everyone else was in deltas. This is pretty surprising for everyone to be wearing it for grad.
@@teller121 Blues has always been authorized for enlisted wear. It just wasn't standard issue in 2011.
I went to San Diego.
love the young woman at 4:41 (esp the sweet bulldog and his lint brush!!) but anyone can see that uniform she's wearing is intended for something other than the female physique! I have to admit she rocks it pretty well, though I'm biased in favor of super fit chicks. Are we headed to 20+% women marines, as with fed law enforcement (integrated since late '70s)? How is that going to work in the S. China Sea or wherever a SERIOUS major conflict breaks out? Of course, with Burger in there, and with this clique running everything into the ground anyway, not sure what'll be left anyway.
She's very beautiful in those dress blues!! 😊
@@ericirwin413 wonderful
The Corps has taken a stand, and are refusing to lower standards, unlike the other services.
@@bradmiller2329 Burger is a hack who said promoting "female combat commanders" is his highest priority. Not much of a line. I heard they're gender neutral on Parris Island.

I just can’t handle seeing a woman as a marine with their nice locks. Sorry folks, to me it’s just a joke. Marines are a fighting force and when you compare them to the men they just doesn’t stack up.
Call me old school. Or whatever. Women should not be dressed as the men.
