As a ST. Lucian, i can honestly say this win was significant for St.lucia BECAUSE the people / government/ teachers / people in power didn't see sports as a career. They saw it as fun ( P.E ) . As a little boy growing up in st.lucia i have seen so much ppl who has talent in various sport i.e football , basket ball, cricket ect. but end up dead not reaching anywhere because they are poor, no facilities, coaching problem and the ones who has little money may take a chance to go next country to enhance their game.... makes me sad. SO this win will change those people mindset .that is y this win was so important especially for St. Lucia.
