Believe it or not, I never went for the boost on the airborne challenges. How I did it the whole time was that I drive on two wheels for the airborne challenges and keep my speed up as best I can once I've figured out the pattern for the obstacles ahead. It took some getting used to, but that's how I did it especially when I got more points that way. Just be sure to get back on four before you touch the ramp, otherwise the extra points won't count. I also did the two wheels trick on some of the other challenges in this game as well, but it doesn't work on all of them. All it took was a little skill.
