Definitely one of the best TV shows in its time and one of the best in the history of television... I have heard there is going to be a feature film remake of the show... Fingers crossed!
I think the whole idea to make the run in slow motion was because to us, normal human beings, a bionic run would seem too fast, not something we would be able to see. I think the slow motion action scenes and the running scenes with the bionic sound effects did make SMDM seem powerful. And, Lee did an incredible job adding his own dimensions to the scenes.
Loved all the interviews. Some serious ass kissing for Lee Majors from everyone. The most came from Harve Bennett and Richard Anderson (no surprise there). Kenny Johnson and Martin Brooks did their share. The least amount came from Lindsay Wagner, since she was busy promoting her own show, which I knew she would. All the praise Lee received was long overdue and well deserved. Easily the best show of the seventies.
@timemtunneller they did plan to make a movie about ten years ago. Their original plans were to make the feature film a comedy starring Jim Carrey. The negative backlash from the fans was so great that the idea was scraped.
I don't know, I thought speeding up the camera for that running scene looked fine. But with so many comedy shows already using the same technique in the 70's, I guess I can see how critics back then might've thought it seemed too slapstick. A bionic Benny Hill probably wouldn't have gone over too well.
@TheSteelersrock1010 id like to see joaquin pheonix play TSMDM. however, my first preference would be to leave it where it is - as a classic untouched series.
Lee Majors is really indeed the very-very classic role of Steve Austin. But I wish Tom Cruise would be even much better for the upcoming bionic-typed super-man, just like Steve Austin did in the original SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN. The left bionic eye would also be perfect for Tom Cruise, thank you very much.
@GESSO217 Yes! I knew... But thank you anyway! Glad that Jim Carrey didn't do it, otherwise my childhood dream show would definitely have turned into a nightmare... I once heard Will Smith was on the card to play Steve Austin... But I guess that was just a rumour... Anyway, happy to know that a SMDM movie is under development once again according to IMDB... Keep the Faith, Dollar Man Fans!
ANYONE REMEMBER THOSE 'EXPOSED CIRCUTRY' THINGS THAT WENT ON YOUR FORE-ARM THAT WAS INSPIRED BY THE DEATH PROBE EPISODE? A-LA TERMINATOR..WHAT WERE THOSE CALLED?
he's had a ton of plastic surgery - look at his eyelids, smooth forehead and cheeks...at least he still looks like himself....didn't go Kenny Rogers - but def had plastic surgery. The cost? 6 Million Dollars.
Fantastic. Thanks, guys.

Plastic help or not Lee Majors looks f@cking great
cool!
that part where he's running fast speed looked ok to me and better than running slow motion
