Circular motion: Centripetal Force and Acceleration.

  • In this video we learn about circular motion and derieve the equations for Centripetal Force and Centripetal Acceleration. We find that uniform circular motion is an accelerated motion. The acceleration is a=v^2/r. This is known as Centripetal Acceleration and the force that pulls it towards the centre is called as Centripetal Force. The equation for Centripetal Force is F=m.v^2/r.
    We derive both these equations using basic vector manipulation.
