You will get spoiled with the Rainsong. I've a top shelf Gurian , hand made by Michael Gurian, Brazillian rosewood sides and back, sitka spruce top, Honduran mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, ss frets, Shnelling silver tuners, mother of pearl inlays, a real bluegrass gasser. But.... ever since I got a Rainsong it's become a case queen.

I am 66 years old, and my first snow skis were wood, and now all skis are carbon fiber. My first tennis racket was wood, and now all rackets are carbon fiber. Prior to 1930, all golf club shafts were wood, now ALL metalwood shafts are graphite. I played baseball up to the college level, and my favorite Louisville Slugger bats were made of ash. Now, except for MLB, most bats are made of graphite, (some metal bats still out there)… see a trend here? Graphite has greater transfer of energy, impervious to climate change, TOTAL consistency in vibrational frequency,(what every performer wants… the same tone every night, regardless of where you are playing). I am done with wood guitars!

Fantastic demo and words of valuable information. Playing is so fitting for a professional demonstration. Most demos for acoustic guitars on TH-cam are an embarrassment. This demo is exactly what I was looking for, thank you so very much. Beautiful playing also. 🌠🌌🌅👌🏻

Just retired, and will spend winters where it is typically 10% humidity, and summers where it is +80% humidity… And, want to take extended road trips around the Lower 48. So, sold my nice Japanese Takamine P4dc, and USA built Ovation,(only the back is lyracord), and ordered a RainSong Jumbo with Stagepro Anthem … throw it in the car, no humidification, no repairs … 👌
Update July , 2022… I have received my RainSong, and it sounds great!

Nicely done, Lindsay. I've been interested in how these composite axes stack up to traditional wood and this really nails it. Just what I was looking for to take camping to keep up my chops and give my folks some tunes as well as be ready for some campfire jams. Maybe you guys can make me a deal on a trade for a Rainsong for my next trip.

I think my Rainsong BI-WS1000 sounds better than yours! Maybe just my choice of strings - EB Paradigm Phosphor-Bronze 12s. Anyway, as you mention, different tonewoods have different acoustic qualities and "warmth" - in my mind I align these with colours, and the tone of my Rainsong is definitely a cool blue, whereas the tone of my spruce & mahogany OM is a greenish-yellow :D

Ok, it’s mid February. Pack up. Tune your Rainsong. Pack it in the trunk of your car. Drive to Snowshoe Mt., WV. Ski all day. Get guitar from trunk for singalong in the lodge. Go inside, open case in front of roaring fire. Strum. No tuning needed. And, no cracked finish.
Do Not try this with any wood guitar (except maybe your beater) that you value!
The carbon fiber guitar has a place in your arsenal. Just ask singer/songwriter, David Wilcox.
    You’ll probably miss him at 6pm @ Eddie’s Attic, today, Sept 12, 2021.

Lindsay, what’s the name of the Irish sounding song you played at the end of the video? I’d like to learn it.
