As a Liverpool fan, I 100% agree with everything Carra said here about the contract situations. Not enough is made of the fact that it was sensible to wait until the players in question and the new manager wanted to work together, before contracts were offered.

Carra is right but I don’t think he articulated it well enough (in my opinion).
We love that Gerrard stayed. We love it because we weren’t the greatest team when he was around and we knew that he’d win a lot more at another big club. But he stayed anyway. He stayed because to him loyalty to Liverpool meant that it was okay if you didn’t win as much as you could have because at least you stood by your own. He sacrificed individual accolades in return for an undying bond with a single club.
If Trent leaves, it’ll be a lot worse than if Gerrard had left. Unlike Gerrard, Trent would be leaving a great team, one that is capable of winning trophies.

They like performing in front of the fans and being cheered but that’s it. It’s a game, it’s entertainment. The contract issue lies with FSG and FSG alone, they should have taken action last year before Klopp had informed the world that he would be leaving. Why are they not putting extension options of a year like with Man U and others that are able to extend a contract. For all of FSG's good work the contracts situation of TAA, VVD and Salah is an embarrassing oversight and someone needs being held accountable. In light of where we are FSG put your hands in your pocket we need a No 9 (Isak looks perfect) and a left back is urgently required (Robertson and Tsimikas are not up to the required standard)

Spuds had half a team but they put 3 past Liverpool.
Their forward line was more or less full strength. Also Liverpool were missing konate and they defo took to pedal off at 5-1. The moment it got close they literally just went and scored another for fun
If Spurs attack is very good, they've scored the most goals this season in the prem and have the 4th best GD. If they add a top quality GK and a CB in the Summer, like a Bastoni, Tah, Schlotterbeck and then this Spurs team can absolutely challenge regularly for Top 4 again.
Gerrard could have walked off into any team and won any trophy he wanted, and at times, I wouldn't have blamed him. Because we were that bad. He would have offered years off his life to play with this team and manager in this way for a few seasons. To leave in this moment on a FREE would be crazy.
Sign the contract, stay a couple more seasons (why wouldn't you) and if it doesn't work out, ask to be sold, and we can at least then understand it.

I hope all 3 of them stays longer, especially Trent. But I have also made peace with all 3 leaving and we rebuild. BUT the big sticking point, please dont let them go for free.. Liverpool have let Wijnaldum, Firmino, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Origi, Milner all left for free. The ones we re-coup a little bit was Fabinho, Mane, Minamino, Henderson. Yes, we have manage to sell Carvalho and Van den Berg for higher expected price but I feel its not enough.
If all 3 of them are going to leave, please get some money back.

None of those three players wanted to sign a contract last year as soon as they knew about klopp's departure. Salah turned up his game to get the contract after working with slot. And has been very vocal about the contract so he gets that before the other two. Calling yourself as pundits and can't even see the fact. Trent would light up Madrid, but he will miss the love he gets here. And Madrid is coming only because he'll be a free transfer. And they were ready to break bank twice before breaking it to get mbappe. No player is above the club
