Thank you! You are the queen of fabric manipulation!! I came across your channel a couple of days ago and I've been going through all your manipulation videos . They are truly amazing!! your works are genuine arts !! been inspired a lot from you. Thank you again!!
Ah I love that! thank you so much. I hope I can make more and continue to do that! thanks for your support. You may like the next video that's coming up this weekend....free-motion embroidery on layers of scraps of fabric!😊
I'm so pleased I've found you. 😀 I'm a 3rd year studying Surface Pattern. We are experimenting with dyes, prints, fabric manipulation, lasor cutting UV printing, digital printing, screen and anything else you can think of. 🤔 I'm always looking for more inspiration and I love the way you explain. Thank you
Hi Kay thank you for your message. I've just looked at your videos and REALLY liked what you've done in the '2nd part of Sketchbook' video. It's so good to see the drawings, prints and what you are experimenting with.😀 I will endeavour to keep providing more videos....Imagine screen printing over a smocked pattern?....ooooh nice!☺️
Oh wow - I’ve just found you. I love anything contemporary textile and have been experimenting with fabric slashing . I hope you don’t mind me asking. When you cut the edge that hasn’t been sewn do you cut it right off? It looks like the finished article still has a black border all the way around. How did you achieve that? Many thanks x
Hi Janine! thank you. I cut the strips on one side only, twisted each strip and then sewed them down again. (the other side wasn't cut off...) does that make sense?
@@didsburyartstudio Thankyou so much for replying- you are the first artist that I have asked a question of who has actually replied. I think I understand - so, are the raw ends of the twisted strands sewn back down into the unsewn edge/border ?
Hi there 🙂 cotton fabric won't fray like the silver fabric I used.. Bondaweb can also be ironed at the back of a polyester fabric to help prevent fraying. Send me some pics on instagram if you have a go at the fabric slashing!
