I have a jade wrasse in a fish only but i am shutting that tank down do you know if it would be ok in a reef tank or would it eat my corals and cuc thank you for any advice
Hi there! How long have you had your Angels? Glad all 5 are doing well for you! Do you expect the Emperor to outgrow the tank?
@AbsoluteZero6714 Hi! I have had all three of my dwarf angels for 5 years....both the Goldflake and Emperor over a year. No I don't expect Emperor to out grow my tank.
@@WRASSEREEFCHANNELThat sounds good! I hope your dwarves can live for at least another 15.
How big is your tank its well balanced with beautiful fish and beautiful reefs .
@corettamill Thank you so much! It is 220 gallon including the sump! 😀
@ wow
Thanks for teaching about Saltwater Fish and reefs
I just purchased a 36 gallon bow tank I only added salt . A lot of salt is on the top of aquarium hood how often do you have to clean the salt off the aquarium hood.
I plan on getting clown fish and goby and those small crabs in the shell with the reef that use light as food . Can you give me suggestions on reefs that are beginner friendly that get food from low light.
What. Anemone is that in the sand
@lindawilliams7264 If you mean the large Red one and neon green one....those are Haddoni Carpet anemones.
Oof. First time I heard an angel eating Gonis. Not good as I have a Goni dominant tank with a regal angel and flame angel.
@timjohnson3913 Yep....I know it....if you look at my older videos I had a beautiful bright red goni with blue centers I grew from a small frag. It was huge! My Angels ate it within a week. Also after they decided they liked it, they ate the rest of my gonis. A total of 5 or 6. No more gonis for me....that's for sure!
I got a emperor tattoo haha
@@tanksupdates7210 No way!!! That's cool! My favorite Angel!
In your experience what corals do angelfish tend to pick at the most? And what do they tend to ignore?
@RyGuyAquatics They go after fleshy corals like Acans, meat corals, some hammers, frog spawn will get eaten by most angels. My angel's tend to leave Elegance, hard brain corals, chalices, candy cane, SPS like Acros, birdsnest, and torches alone. Also gold hammers....but they eat all other hammers. Of course all angels have different tastes, and in my experience there are NO reef safe angel, including Genicanthus Angels. The larger Angels will destroy a colony. In my tank the biggest offender though is my Goldflake and Lemon Peel Angels. Not my adult Emperor.....lol!
@ good to know. Thanks!
@RyGuyAquatics You are welcome! 😄
Would love to see a video of how you grow your phyto. Also wondering how the salinity levels work when your adding that much new saltwater all the time dosing the phyto
@radumarginean969 Absolutely....I will do one this weekend. When you grow Phytoplankton you mix the saltwater for the phyto to 1.018 or so. It doesn't increase my salinity. I mix my saltwater to 1.025 and make sure it doesn't fluctuate. Stability is key for sure! 😃
wow 3 months...crazy still out an about. I am thinking of picking up a black leopard that is fully QTed and eating.
@devachapman6315 A cool wrasse....I was surprised because in my experience black leopards are a bit more difficult than other leopards.
Beautiful tank. I've been trying to get my hands on a black leopard wrasse but striking out for a while... :/
@jordanm2984 Thank you!!! Keep your eyes open for a black Leopard Wrasse. They are totally cool!
Idk man I’ve several that have grown like gangbusters for years and then another that closes up and won’t come out after six - nine months and it doesn’t seem to matter what my params or dosing phyto
mummy eye or raja rampage
That chalice is called Pink boobies. It's a Jason Fox coral.
Did you loose the baby red Coris?
@justinfournier6721 Nope, he jumped the the sand before I did the video because I was doing my weekly tank maintenance, which includes cleaning the glass....lol
You have the exact same yellow and black blenny as me I think, I really love him!
@loriencarroruesca4679 I only have a Midas Blenny he is gold colored. Could you mean my yellow tail tamaran? He has a yellow tail and black body with white spots.
@@WRASSEREEFCHANNEL mean the one in the low center of the video around 0:30
@loriencarroruesca4679 oh I see him....he a was a flame tail blenny. That was in my old tank. Sadly I don't have him anymore!
I love your tank, so many Angels and a wide variety of corals
@plasmagaming3208 Thank you so much! It is a tricky balance, but I love my angels. 😁
Any coral nipping going on?
@gregorymowens1697 Nope, not with the corals I have growing in my tank. I selected them for that reason. I have had this group of angels for a long time, and know which ones they will eat for the most part.
Your tank looks great. Do you still have that big Gonni?
@reeferreborn3245 Thank you! Nope I sold it. It was huge. But my Goldflake Angel ate another smaller Goni, so I sold my red one.
Just brought home a Leopard Wrasse and your video gives me confidence to care for it. My LFS downplayed the expert only on these fish and basically said everything you mentioned here, so thanks! Looking forward to him coming gout of the sand! RS S-700
@@tomboren7048 I am so happy to help! Good luck with him. Leopard Wrasses are my favorite fish!
Do you still have the Picasso trigger in your reef? I’m considering adding one to my reef. What are your thoughts after trying one?
@GrandBendFishingChartersTV nope I don't have him anymore. He got way to agesstve.
@@WRASSEREEFCHANNEL That’s too bad, such a cool fish! Did he leave coral alone?
@GrandBendFishingChartersTV He bothered any few corals, but was also very aggressive to my Leopard Wrasses. So he had to go. I won't try another trigger again. They would be fine in a big tank with big tank mates.
i've been thinking about adding one of those to my 75g reef. Do you think if I were to add an agressive clown like a maroon to host, it would minimize the chances of one of my fish to wander around it and become dinner?😂
@carlinhos_bargancera LOL! It probably would....but to be honest most fish steer clear of carpet nems. I agree with ya though, and mean maroon would keep other fish away for sure! 😆
@@WRASSEREEFCHANNEL Thanks!
I must look into AFR and monitor my parameters Moore closely 👍
@@tonycloseukreef3799 You will love AFR.....if you can find the liquid version. It's a lot easier to use!
Awesome! I use All For Reef too. Something about the Germans know their stuff! And I also dose Red Sea Magnesium too especially for the Euphyllia Corals!
Also, when adding you AFR and Magnesium, are your numbers adding dry/full strength to the tank or mixed as they suggest?
@gregorymowens1697 It is the liquid AFR which I like better. I add the liquid Magnesium separately.
👍🏼
How big is your tank again? I have a RSR 525 and want to switch to AFR and Magnesium like you’re doing and wanting to see how much to dose I have a mixed reef too. Thanks
@gregorymowens1697 My tank is a Planet Aquarium, it is 220 gallons. I use the liquid premixed AFR not the powder AFR. Also the liquid Magnesium Brightwell Aquatics. The amount you dose weekly will depend on the tank size, the amount and types of corals....I have no softies for example, just LPS and SPS. I will do another video on just the dosing aspect of it also.
Dont reuse the sand..i learned the hard way.. your glong to release all types of bad gasses when you move the sand
@slingryderz7936 This is over a year ago, but nope I NEVER re use sand....always buy brand new sand!
Your tank looks awesome. I have an elegance coral that seems to be on the decline. Every other coral, lps in my tank is doing great. Stable parameters but for the past 2 weeks it’s been shrunken up. I’ve done two dips in the past two weeks but it doesn’t seem to help. Any tips, or common things to look for with elegance?
@Hozay1 Sorry about you elegance coral. I would not dip elegance corals or torch corals imo. Dips do more harm them good on these types of corals. The key to elegance corals is stable Calcium, Alkalinity, and Magnesium. Also keep up your trace elements also. These types of corals like dirtier water. So Nitrates around 15 to 20 are perfectly fine. Red Sea AB+ is something I add several times a week.
@ nitrates might be my problem. I’ve been working on lowering mine. From an average of 15-20 to about 5-10.
Beautiful tank as always! I like arches and caves too. I like over hangs too. All fishes love a place to hide under them but most importantly a place for them to go back to as their place if they feel they're threaten.
@@PhiCongDoan7587 Thanks!!!!! You are sooooo right!
I have a BHW coming from reefbeauties next week, I’m hoping for a juvie but I’m not sure which stage it will be. Beautiful setup BTW!!!!
@NotSure876 Thank you! Definitely one of my favorite wrasses! The are beautiful and very active. Enjoy him!
Do the lemon peal and flame fight?
@streyon Nope they don't, I have all 3 dwarf angels for 4 years in the same tank with no issues.
Fantastic footage ❤
@@tonycloseukreef3799 Thank you!!!!! 😁
Congrats on the 1k subscribers 🎉
@@Fluke-h6z Thank you so much! 😁
Isn’t the flow a little too much ?
@0SIGMA Nope, I run my MP40s at 50% about 2 to 3 inches from the top of the water. It might look like it is blowing right on the nem cave but it isn't.
Loosing fish is unfortunate as you say but he or she had a great nine years in your care ❤
@@tonycloseukreef3799 Absolutely True!!! 😄
.Looks awesome ! Great content . ❤ your Angel 😊

Al Gore Rhythm comment
I'm sorry to hear about your wrasse. Do you plan on getting another one?
@amoosenamedgoose3723 thanks! I might. The price of Earmuff Wrasses have really gone up. Plus they are kind of tough to acclimate to aquarium life also.
Are you still using the same salt? Red sea coral pro I belive it was
@@amoosenamedgoose3723 yep still using Red Sea Coral Pro
Beautiful tank.. what's your phosphate/nitrate typically kept at? And do you target or broadcast feed the tank? If so, how often and what product(s)?
@fdij-l4u Hi there! I keep my Nitrates around 20ppm, and phosphates 0.25 or so. I don't chase numbers lol. I don't target feed my corals. Instead I broadcast feed Red Sea AB plus, plus Brightwell Aquatics products Liquid Reef, trace elements etc. I add those 4 times a week 50ml each. Plus 1ltr of phytoplankton Monday, Wed, and Friday. I grow my own phytoplankton, other that would be way to costly.
One of the must haves on a salt water tank 👍❤
@@tonycloseukreef3799 Absolutely!! 😁
Wow! What an amazing gift for sure ❤👏🙌👌❤️

My thats interesting on the starfish . Are those sponges ever pesky ?
@lovermansmith9082 Thanks! Nope not at all. They just grow naturally on my live rock. And my Starfish loves it. The sponge doesn't bother any coral or anything else!
@WRASSEREEFCHANNEL Thank you for the reply . Haven't heard many successful starfish stories. I heard sponges often come on live rock . Thinks it might be a nuisance without the starfish . Looking forward to more vids . Thanks again
@lovermansmith9082 You are totally welcome! I found it interesting that he loves that yellow sponge crazy!!!!
What an awesome tank, how big is it?
@streyon Thank you! It is 220 gallons and 6ft long! 😁
Ultra beautiful well done
@@youronlycow Thanks so much!!!! 😄
Shouldn’t you wait for the frags to grow into big colonies ? Mature colonies are less vulnerable to predation.
@coralreef909 I could if I didn't already have angels. So because I already had angels, I didn't want to drop money on big colonies to discover my angels eat them. So I opted for frags initially.
I want an Emperor Angel.
@@nmarq005 He's one of my favorites! He is like a puppy dog. He loves to be petted!
How is the uv plumbed?
@justinfournier6721 Plumbed the same way basically as my Algae Scrubber. One line going to a small pump, and another for the water to go back out into the tank.
You’re running the light 24/7? And what’s is your nutrition sitting at
@Fluke-h6z Yep I run the light 24/7.....nitrates sit at 10ppm, and phosphates 0.05....they stay stable...that's with 20 fish and a large Zebra Eel. 220 gallon water volume.
@@WRASSEREEFCHANNELwhat about water change?
@Fluke-h6z i do a 10% water change every week.
