Great video, adventure and boat. I saw you parked in Richmond. I keep my sailboat Indigo, a Cape Dory 36, just next door to port as you motored down the canal. it was fun to catch sight of her in your video. Cheers.
OK, I am finally caught up. I found your TH-cam videos at episode 21, and then backtracked to the beginning. So I am ready to continue on with your adventures.
Just so you know, Annies Mac and cheese with premade liquid cheese is our go to post or during overnight passage meals, with a cup of chili poured in the middle. Not always, but sometimes! It’s comfort food at its best! Needless to say I have 5 boxes stashed and should buy more before we leave!! 😂😂😂. Also, we don’t drink underway with one exception, we cracked a bottle of Champagne when we crossed under the bridge. Definitely a milestone as I’m a northern california girl from birth!! Welcome to California! I hope our paths meet on our way south!
Thanks so much! That video was a blast to make and share. Yeah - the chairs are definitely not a new trend in power boating....wouldn't recommend it :)
OK, the video you showed in the morning in Crescent City had a Red Sky. There is an old nautical saying that goes,......." Red Sky in the Morning, Sailors Take Warning ", meaning that it is not going to be a nice day at sea. So I am not surprised that shortly after you left Crescent City, you encountered winds and rough seas.
Ah, Berkeley. My first yacht (Sea Scout Ship NORTHLAND, a 63ft AVR) was home ported there. Yes, I am a native of Berkeley. I joined the Sea Scouts at age 14, and have made the sea my life for 62 years.
We are still in San Francisco - maybe another 7-10 days. I got the paperwork fixed!! I went to Ensenada last week and sorted it out. So as soon as a weather window and Pat's schedules line up, we'll start heading south....stay tuned! Enjoy your time in Cabo!
On your first haul out I(Steve) stop by to say hi on my way to look at another boat in the yard. Sorry I had to turn down the "in process refit tour" but time was not on my side that day. Glad you guys got out of here, we're starting to get weather systems that are producing gale force winds on the local waters and 15' seas on the coast. Do you have an opinion on the wave slap above the bulbous bow no NOETA? Is it just part of the general beating you take going into head seas or is the noise extra annoying?
@@Janchez Hi Steve! Great to hear from you. Yeah, glad we got out of there, we may not have found a window til next year! The bow slap is an annoying sound that we’ve gotten used to in head seas. In fact, on our 50, we didn’t know there was such a thing and got it in Long Island Sound- scared the crap out of us. Fortunately Nordhavn had written an article about it, so when I Googled it, I learned the boat was not, in fact, breaking in half…just a bow slap noise 😅
@@mvnoeta Thanks for the note, I was curious so I had to ask. In the video the noise didn't seem that bad but we all know it's tough for a video to capture everything well. Some of the noise just sounded like a wave slapping the side of the bow. Around the 12:50 mark in the video you did catch a couple sets of waves that really helped show how rough it was. You guys did a true shake down cruise, hopefully the rest of the way will just be cruise🙂
Thanks! Every once in awhile, on a big one, something will fall off a counter or out of a shelf. We always leave it where it fell and say "that's where it wants to be!" I do clear off the galley counters and put some things in the sink - but other than us falling about, boat parts and things in the boat seem to stay where we left them....usually :)
Thanks!! It was named 'Ocean' when we bought it in 2017, we renamed it to Noeta. The people who bought it from us in San Francisco renamed it, but I don't remember what it was called. It was N4637.
Taking a break is a great idea. I have done a fair amount of West coast cruising. Have 4 people makes it so much easier than 2. And if you had your Stidds that would help a lot.
When I was in the states, I was able to order them from a Canadian online pharmacy. Cinnarizine is the medicine, Stugeron is the brand name. Just google Canada pharmacy and you'll find a bunch of options....or just come on down to Mexico!
Can not alway predict the weather when out on the water you just have to accept the good with the bad otherwise just pointless in having a boat if it is always tied up in a marina and only take it out when the wether is flat calm

Thanks so much! That's so cool, what a small world! Cheers to you and Indigo!

Yay! Welcome aboard! We are about to turn the corner at Cabo San Lucas, so we are making great time!
I’m so glad y’all got on your way🎉 plus you those gourmet man & cheese bowls!
It was a long time coming, but we're finally on our way! (Super gourmet!) ;)

That's awesome! We're headed your direction today! Leaving this evening, headed for Long Beach.
Hi Alexa- this is your friend, Jordan from MT. So happy for you guys! Keep the updates coming, I’ll keep watching and the dream alive!
Hey Jordan! So glad you're still with us. The dream is definitely alive! Hope momma and baby are doing well!
I was wondering about the chairs, also loved your film festival video 🎉

Yup…we probably should have stayed put another day or 2!
The Mac and cheese in honor is freaking cool and cute. I am one of those that SELDOM gets sea sick but almost always gets land sick after voyages.
Thanks Ryan - it may have just become a tradition we'll carry forward. Yeah, that land sick is a weird one!
Kraft Mac and Cheese hits different on passage!
Right?! Who knew! Will we see you when we get to Ensenada? 😊

That’s great! We had a great stay there!
Left a day before you in a Marlow 70. Got into some heavy weather and needed to overnight in Newport. Rest of the way was buttery.
It's been beautiful the last couple days - happy to have missed the heavy weather. Happy Cruising!
Hi was wondering what navigation software you are running on the large screen in the pilot house?
@@johncottis9746 Hi! We’re running Time Zero Professional. We’ve used TZ before, but this pro version has some really nice features!
Great video. You still appear to be in San Francisco. Any issues? I know Mexican paperwork is a nightmare.

Great video guys! Those Nordhavens are one tough boat. Do you find things breaking or shaking loose in those kind of seas?

how do I find the seasick meds in the US? Do I need to head down to mexico?
