Honestly all bettas fight never keep together in my experience my wild imbellis and copper smagardinas and wild aliens are very Territorial and love about three feet of space in the wild they only protect a 3 foot radius
I have a couple too, the male keeps chasing the female, they didn't even spawn, she is always hiding from him. I think it's not really a peaceful Betta, I'd say that they are pretty aggressive toward other bettas...

Such a beautiful fish, sadly they are fast swimmers and good jumpers so they need larger tank to keep than regular bettas.

I have a really shy female imbellis in a 16 gallon. I've really wanted to add in some B. Imbellis, but I'm nervous something might go wrong. Oddly enough, I'm nervous my splenden will get nervous and bullied, not the imbellis. She is really shy. She lived in a sorority with her old owner, but was attacked and had to be rehomed. I tried housing her with 4 mollies, but they stresses her out and she hid in the corner and near the filter, so I moved her. I have some guppy fry I want to move into her tank once they're big enough, to see how the get along. Do you think I could keep a few female imbellis with my splenden?
I learnt from you that they are territorial during breeding times but don't the other male or female Betta eat the young ones since they are not theirs and they need room for their young ones in future...just like in wild... (I mean the imbelis ofcouse)
That's why all my tanks have lids

i am so sorry you lost a fish i found one of my female betta on the ground i looked down and she just looked at me covered in coarse sand and just took a breath i place her back in pond near heater and water flow and 3 weeks later honey (her new name) broke my heart to see something so beautiful suffer close to death breaks my heart these days i just love all things regards manny the gardener
Been there. Got up to go pee and my reef tank is on the way to the bathroom. Barefoot + midas blenny that was crispy on the outside but still squishy and wet on the inside

2 of my male blue imbellis jump out and died jump through a less than 1cm hole (which meant for air pump tube)
Why do you keep air pump. Bettas don’t like it.

TS bigger tank more vegetation. Try this if not separate. Fish only jump when fighting or chased
Yup, my wild caught Imbellis was also a jumper and he was a piece of jerky by the time I found him 🥲🥺😫
oh noo! do you think an imbellis would still jump out of a 40b with the water level .5-1.5 inches below the rim with a heavy lid?

Hey Izabella AquaZone, I don't know if you still check comments on these videos but do Betta Imbellis prefer low light settings? I'm considering going for a hood without lights for a imbellis setup however I don't know what their light requirements are. My other question is I know how you said the imbellis don't like much water movement (aka no water filter). Would it still be possible to use a low output filter without disturbing the bettas? Sometimes I am so busy I forget to clean the tank so I would prefer if I could have a pump to prolong the amount of time between water changes. Thanks!

is it possible to put one male imbellis in a guppy tank? its pretty much populated with baby fries.. i dont rly mind imbellis eating the fry as im overwhelmed with them but what i am scared of puting it in thec community tank is that it might kill full grown guppies

Depends, mine did fine, Even with another male, it was a risk but it worked out perfectly, but it all depends on your fish, but generally, the males do fine with females, however sometimes the males will harass the female until his bubble nest is ready and after spawning, in a big tank there would be no problem given enough hidings, chasing here and there is perfectly normal however if they are getting pinned up and constantly harassed and serious nipped fins, yeah separate them please, I recommend 10g for a pair and I personally, kept 3 in a 30 gallon and they did fine, but my tank is heavily planted, 2 males one female, and it worked out cause one male wasnt interested in the female, weird but worked out, and it was cool watching them spar here and there, but I never had a problem with nipped fins,
Betta Imbellis have been long thought to be peaceful and can be housed in pairs or groups but with personal experience of over a decade of breeding and working closely with these fish I know they’re far from peaceful and just like any other species from the splenden complex when given the chance will absolutely tear one another apart. -FranksBettas

Looking to pick up a wild betta. stuck between this and the api api
If you're an experience betta keeper than I suggest the api-api cuz they're more peaceful. But if you're new to the wild betta keeping that you can start with any splendens complex such as the imbellis.
Ps: also, api-api really need a very specific water parameters and condition to thrive, so it's not recommended for beginners
I'm not sure why you didn't cover the tank if you knew they jump. I don't find it amusing to step on a dead fish. I would be crying, not laughing.

you know what, i always catch these wild betta and keep each of them in bottles (used + recycle ketchup bottle) and see their expanding tail and changing their colours. kinna proud to see my local childhood creature getting attention from western world. #peacefrommalaysia

No, the splendens will probably kill them. Splendens are very aggressive
soft yarn no not all. Some can be able to be put into betta communities that’s on her channel
@@protatosammich8248 actually they are very correct a splendens domestic would kill a Imbellis for sure, there would definitely be fights between 2 males. Only the females are truly peaceful
